Farewell !!

These were the last words of my base commander (now retired), Colonel Chan, during his farewell speech, whom we did a Change Of Command (CoC) Parade for him today in my base! Almost cried when he said the words above lah.. so touching!

It was a 30 mins parade, but when everything was added together, it was abt 2 hrs.. becos at the end of the parade, we have to like have our light refreshments (thank goodness I was fast enuf to grab some food.. any later, I will eat AIR! ha..) and then form the line of honour to send off Colonel Chan.. Quite a waste of time I muz say lah..

It was after much rehearsals and scolding frm the Parade RSM tat we have such a great standard at the Parade today.. and I can safely say tat this parade is far much better than the SAF Day Parade and the RSAF Day Parade.. probably becos the parade size is smaller, therefore, its easier to train and discipline the participants of the parade! So ya..

Saying of which, I wish to state something in this blog.. or else I wld have no peace lah.. I juz wanna get this thing off my chest, or else I wld feel unhappy abt it! so here goes..

There is this sgt of mine (wld not say name) who has a very bad temper; when he is in a bad mood, he wld show it in his face (his face looks like Justice Bao.. as if the whole world owes him money!).. anyway, this happened yesterday (Monday - 10/10).. it was like I was this guy (lets call him 'J') buddy-of-the-day as announced by my Flight Sgt Major (FSM).. the purpose of a buddy system to J was to ensure tt he was not late and stuff..

So Sun (9/10) I msg J abt time to bk in and stuff, hoping tat he wld not be late.. but he still did in the end becos of a reason.. dun koe whether its valid enuf for his lateness.. but anyway, ya.. b4 I slept tat nite on Sun (9/10), J woke me up and ask me wat time to fall in and stuff.. I told him and in addition, I told him wat to wear and stuff.. he said ok lah..

Then the morning came (mon - 10/10) and this sgt of mine (can see he not enuf sleep the nite b4 and tat explains his KNS (Ka Nah Sai) face in the morning) was like commanding me to go look for him lah.. and he gave me tat kind of look, as if tat if I dun do it, he wld punish me.. or tat kind of look tat I owe him a living!

Fwah! at tat moment, I juz felt like talking back to him lah (which I did at first in a very pissed off tone, but I held back my temper and words and juz go look for him reluctantly!).. I juz feel like telling him off, by saying, "eh.. u think u bad mood u can order me ard like tat? wats with the look? do I owe u a living? can't u tell me to look for 'J' nicely, instead of like showing me this kind of face? I told u tat I saw him eating and after tat, I didn't koe where he went.. you expect me to follow him like a dog? can't you wait a while more to see whether he comes down?"

I indeed told this sgt of mine the reasoning already.. I told him tat I saw him eating juz now but then after tat, I dun koe where he went to!
I was already lacking of sleep and you koe me lah.. when I lack of sleep, I will be grouchy over the slightest matter.. this sgt of mine is also not an exception.. but pls. loh! can't he talk to me nicely, instead of showing me his tat kind of face?? Argghhh... juz thinking of it makes my blood boil loh!

Anyway, its now all over and I hope he certainly tries to control his anger, before one day, I juz explode and I dun koe wat he will get frm me and I dun koe wat punishment I will get! so ya..

ok.. enuf abt tat sgt.. anyway, its me getting to bk in tml morning instead of 2359 tonite, becos' tml we are mounting duty! so ya.. dun koe whether this is his initiative or wat la.. but my bk in timing matters =)..

Oh.. forgot to mention tat today, Mon, 11/10/05, officially marks the END of being Guard-Of-Honour (GOH) 2005, and a new chapter of my life (and tat is getting back again to shift duty and getting used to the life of getting lack of sleep and short weekends) starts again!
Just by looking back at the past 6 mths, where we juz started to train as GOH initially, I first thought tat the days of GOH is tough.. but then, as time goes back, I found tat GOH has also its perks of being 8-5 job, but the cons is tat my wkends get burn loh! wat to do?? =)

I'm juz shack now lah, even though I had like a hr sleep today in the break period frm 11am-2pm.. guess I'm going to bed after tis.. tml morning need to wake up early and be doubly awake becos' I'm mounting tml.. siong ah..

Its been a drinking week for me! ha.. quite 'high' these few days.. and I agree drinking cld be addictive! Not to mention the calories I put on if I drink on a often basis!

So here goes my drinking journey.. *hick*..

(1) SBAB Base Anniversary

It all started out in the hot afternoon at 1300 hrs at SAFRA Yishun Country Club (Click here to find out more!).. Anyway, did not really take part in any activities.. juz walk around with my friends around the place, and see ppl play games (such as Air Rifle and bowling.. but the longest we stayed for was bowling lah, becos' the air-con there very power!!)..

So after watching, we still like got 2 hrs left at SAFRA Yishun.. so we got adventurous and went to the Fruit Machine Room (aka Jackpot Room)and we juz play play lah.. each one came out with $2.. juz play for fun loh.. We all like very swa-ku (hokkien for mountain tortoise).. dun koe how to play.. Even after we have finish our credits, we still like in a daze of how to play, as in we still dun understand the game! ha..

Then after tat, we saw our sgt, and he ask us where we went! We said we went to the Jackpot Room.. then he said 'let's go and try again!'.. but of course, with my friend's "clever" instructions, he teach my sgt how to play.. ha.. so my sgt first change $10 worth of credits.. then in like 5 mins, his $10 was gone.. all thanx to my friend's "clever" instructions!..

Then he wanted to try again.. so he changed another $10 worth of credits! This time he got real lucky! He actually won $40 worth of credits after like 15-20 mins of play! so we b4 tat was like since we did not win, we want to hear the jackpot machine giving out the 'coin' sound.. so we ask our sgt to press the button, "collect".. and the money juz drop out like tat lah frm the machine! fwah! tell u! you never feel so happy in ur life b4 when u hear the sound of money! ha.. then when we see the winning of credits kept increasing, our blood pressure juz gets higher and higher.. Feel so good to win money sia!
Sometimes I really wonder whether ppl do really die of heart attack becos' of the jackpot machine.. the thrills you go thru with a jackpot machine is like a rollercoaster ride! =)
Then, my friends and I was like, "aiyah.. shld have played with my sgt becos he so lucky.. then who koes we win money!" It was so addictive and tempting tat I wanted to try again loh.. but no.. I shall not succumb to such a temptation! No good, no good!
Frm this trial play, I can conclude tat jackpot can either make u rich overnite or bankrupt overnite! No joke!!

Then at nite, its dinner at my base's hanger! The food there was superb! Though its was not like shan1 zhen1 hai3 wei4 (which means in chinese, for delicacies)(man.. this chinese phrase took me to look into 2 dictionaries for this phrase.. the enlish-chinese and chinese-english dictionary!), but its good enuf! There was kueh pi tee, rojak, carrot cake, oyster ommelette (aka or3 jian1), satay, tempura prawns, masala chicken, papadom, brani, sushi, and many more!! There was also entertainment frm the SAF Music and Drama Company (its been a while since I had seen their performance! I think its since BMT POP, which was like 6-9 mths back!! The performance which I think its the most unique was the team called, "Fusion Ensemble".. whereby they played popular 80's chinese and english hits and of course, some modern ones, with the following instruments: Keyboard, Drums, Saxophone, Bass guitar, electric guitar, cello, violin, erhu, ti-zhi or commonly known as a bamboo flute!.. they are real good lah! they sound so harmonize together!!)

The best of all was the Tiger beer of course (and the Tiger beer gals.. they are pretty.. oops.. ok.. next!).. I actually drank 5 cups! *gulp*..
What happen was the first cup was like a welcome cocktail.. then, then I felt the taste was like a bit too much.. so I switched to fruit punch..
After tat, its toasting time.. so I drank beer again.. and this is the 2nd cup..
Then again, its toasting again, so another cup.. this is the 3rd cup..
Then came the Tiger gal, so she helped us refill.. and as I watch the performance and drink and its done.. so this is the 4th cup!
Then came another toasting, so I drank another cup, and this is the 5th cup!

Its like tat drink and drink, until you dun koe tat u drank 5 cups liaoz!.. but thank goodness, we all ja-boed (malay for "go off") after tat.. One of the ppl we knew (a newbie lah), actually got drunk becos' of too many ppl toast him liaoz.. so we carry him back to his bunk!

Then as I walk, I feel as if my whole head was very light! But the thing is tat I can walk straight!! So I share cab with my friends, and once in the cab, I was like sweating lah.. I asked my friends whether they hot, and they said no.. so I was like blowing the air-con to myself lah! Then as I juz start to close my eyes in the cab, I can sleep very soundly loh.. but I force myself not to sleep lah.. juz in case.. so I guess I was half-drunk!

Came back home.. juz nice cell almost finishing.. didn't attend it.. I went to bathe and took out my contacts.. and I actually use a fan to blow my eyes b4 taking out my contacts, becos' my eyes were too wet and therefore very hard to take out! ha.. funny rite?

After bathing, one of the cell members ask me why I so stone.. I told him tat I was half-drunk becos' I drank 5 cups of beer! I was inititally dun want to bring in the fan.. but then even though after bathing when I sleep, I was quite refreshed but then I felt so hot.. I was sweating profusely like a pig lah!.. ya.. so its like I slept since 9.30pm tat nite, till like 7am yesterday (its a total of 10 hrs sleep.. and usually I dun sleep tat much! so I really guess I got drunk! but thank goodness, no hangover!)

(2) Oktoberfest @ Marche, Heeren Orchard

Well.. yesterday I think was the best time of my life! I actually went for a drinking session yesterday..

After church yesterday, we all proceed to Marche @ Heeren Orchard to celebrate the October babies birthday (Ash, Andrew, Xinyi, Jeslyn & Esther).. so Tjow had a funny idea of asking them 5 to 'tah' 1 litre of beer! I tried the beer.. no kick sia! Tjow said it rite! "Tiger beer more kick!" Even a seldom drinker, Jeslyn, also agrees! ha.. talk abt she being not a drinker!

Anyway, Tjow came up with the idea lah.. so the guys (ryan, tjow, alvin, me and wai kheong) also tah 1 litre, but then its the dark brew, 7.6% and above kind of alcohol! So its like I take a few gulpfuls and I was like quite 'seh' already.. in like 15 mins after I drank, I felt my head was heavy and I'm starting to slant! ha.. but then, not tat jialat after a while.. it seems to subside after a while loh..

Then after Marche, Tjow was like saying, "its a rare occasion tat I joined them, so I muz follow them loh".. I was like saying "ok" reluctantly lah.. but then, I suppose joining them once in a while won't hurt?

So I followed in Ryan's car (actually all guys are in Ryan's car, whilst the gals are in Corn's car), and went to Marina Square to play pool loh!

All thanx to Joyce (our blur guide.. ha =P) tat we almost got lost! But fortunately there was *ahem* the Suntec area guide, tat I found the way there! Oh.. then Tjow saw Starbucks and he bought the "Tazo Lemon Ice Shaken Tea".. very nice!! I think I'm gonna get a cup today! If you like sour and refreshing stuff, this is the tea for you!! Yummy!! Its heavenly lah!

Then when we reached there, Alvin has his hands so 'itchy' tat he went to play arcade, which was also in the same place as pool.. He as usual played Time Crisis 3, but then he said the machine sux lah, becos' of the sensitivity of the gun.. not good.. so yupz.. dun koe wat other games he played with Tjow.. for me, I played a few rounds of pool.. and I muz said tat its quite addictive lah! Its been a long time since I've played pool! ha..

So we played until like 1.15am.. so its like once I see Tjow kept his pool stick, I was like "hooray..", and I lift up both hands! ha.. its late and I'm 'seh' already.. but Tjow said tat its such a rare occasion tat Jeslyn actually join us this late, and she waited PATIENTLY! ha!!

then Corn fetched me back lah.. thanx Corn! =).. and by the time I reached home and bathe and stuff, its like 2.35am liaoz when I sleep!

Woke up this morning at 9.30am.. and then brush teeth, do my Quiet Time, and then now my blog and upload photos and frantically sent to ppl the photos of yesterday's nite event! Oh.. the photos are ready for viewing.. pls go to the photo gallery and look for the title, "Oktoberfest @ Marche Photos!", and you wld be able to see it!

Going back to camp tonite, becos' tml got CoC rehearsal and whole day somemore.. haiz.. =(.. so the reason why I agreed for the outing with Tjow yesterday, is so as to make me feel better and I wanna enjoy my last free weekend, becos after this, there is mounting and stuff and no confirm free weekend, unless its dismounting or confirm free weekends! =).. so ya..

** Tjow, if you are reading this, thanx 4 the invite to the outing yesterday.. enjoyed myself throughly, though I'm like super shack after tat! Thanx! and hope to go out with u all again soon =).. cannot everytime lah.. or else, parents will scold if I come back this late at nite! ha..

What a day! Phew!!

I think I'm getting to be sun-burnt.. my skin is starting to itch and it is red! definitely sunburnt!! *itchy* *itchy*

today drill was all right lah.. we as GOH very funny.. when we are in our vest and slack, we dun perform the drills tat well.. but when we don on our No. 1 suit, suddely our drills become so "zai3", but of course there are mistakes!! but overall, still good lah! =)

Today again got a few hrs of undisturbed sleep at camp! Fwah!! I slept so soundly loh!! Too tired already, despite I had like 6 hrs of sleep yesterday nite! This is probably the result of shackness after drill!

Its no exception now tat I'm very shack today, becos of the rehearsals this morning! *yawnz*

Well.. made a discovery today.. I was friendster surfing on my cousin's profile, and suddenly I stumbled upon one of the "more-familar-face-in-NDP-Colour-Party-but-still-a-look-but-never-say-hi" face.. and its becos of this CoC Parade tat at least we started to chat more!!.. and now I'm dying to koe the answer of how he manage to koe my cousin! muz find out frm him someday!! =).. this shows how small Singapore is sia!

Tml is my base anniversary.. so there is no need for us to go camp tml.. but then I have to stay back for the base dinner tml which will end abt 9.30pm.. so tat means late nites and taking cab home! well.. quite happy lah.. wat more can u ask? free flow of beer as well as free food! I'm quite sure tt there wld be some entertainment too!! =).. so I think since tml dun need to bk in so early, therefore it wld be I think quite a late nite for me.. (its either late nite or I wake up late!)

Oh no! I have nothing else to say! I suddenly hv a lost of speech! Ahhh...

Oh well.. then I think I wld end here to end ur misery of hearing me complain =)

Half dead!

Well.. this morning at camp was quite a peaceful one.. It was also quite a smooth sailing one.. I actually got a few hrs of non-disturb rest (ie, sleeping lah!) in bunk! It was raining heavily in the morning, so to sleep is qutie shiok... becos' its cooling mah.. machiam like aircon!

before I continue, I wld think tat one of my sgt is actually reading my blog.. becos' I had been to his blog, and there are 2 obvious hints tat he is reading my blog on a often basis.. even his tag board has the word, "shout" in it.. juz like mine.. which of course, the name, "shoutbox" is of course originally mine loh.. then another hint which makes me think tat he is reading my blog, is tat his latest post actually deals with the title of the album tat I put in my blog! Isn't both events juz very coincidental?? so have to very careful abt wat I say =).. scared shuo1 ta1 de4 huai4 hua4! ha.. anyway, sgt, if you are really reading my blog, will appreciate if you tag into my shoutbox.. so at least I dun need to keep myself in the suspense or stuff! =)

Anyway, today's rehearsal in the afternoon is not really a good thing after all! We started like at 1pm, but didn't end until 6.30pm! The parade RSM said tat our drills very slack and not up to standard.. so tats why we have to do the drills over and over again!! The worse is actually the GOH contingent (which is us!).. everyone went back already and send arms, whilst we are still like practicing our mark-time.. pls. lah.. I felt so lethargic and restless and tired (and I'm sure the rest of the ppl agrees with me loh!) tat I really can't perform my best!!

So after the drills, by the time I reach home, its like 8pm.. went to eat my dinner, and now blogging loh.. think soon I will fall asleep! tired and shack sia!! Its always 3.45am tat I need to wake up and close my room window, becos of the rain!! For the past 2 days, its raining at 3.45am and I need to close my window, thereby disturbing my sleep and I dun sleep enuf! Actually u tell me.. where is sleep enuf?? ha.. =)

H.A.P.P.Y. is how you spell "Happy"!

Oh man! I'm elated!! I'm over the moon! Over some personal reasons as well as now my rehearsals are in the afternoon.. so tat means I get to sleep at home and spent more time in front of my computer and do other stuff! Yeh!!

Today at bunk was fun, fun and more fun! Initially, I thought my day was juz to scrape off the kilat off my boots and polish shine my boots! but then, after several attempts to take out the kilat off my boots and polishing shine it (I did it for 2 hrs!! believe it or not.. and the boots is not perfect.. in fact, its looks much worst.. if I knew earlier, I shld not remove the kilat.. but its a requirement.. haiz), I gave up the idea.. Too tired and 'sick' of doing it again!

Then wat I did was play with my bunk mates, 'Monopoly'.. and we played to pass our time till bk-out time loh! The funny thing is tat, there is this sgt who like felt a bit bored, and so he juz came to our bunk and juz like talk to us and at the same time, play 'concern' of how we do abt our boots.. then he got shock.. he saw us gathering, and we played monopoly.. then, he juz joined us for the session loh.. and whenever we started playing, he played too! Cool right?? Didn't koe Monopoly cld be tat fun! =)

Then we played till bk-out loh.. so fun! In the end, I got bankrupt, and surprisingly, my sgt is NOT the overall winner! He got bankrupt in the end too! ha..

Then this Fri (7/10) is my base anniversary.. so tat means got free dinner and Tiger Beer! yeh!! gonna drink to my heart's content, but gonna watch out for those calories becos,

1 gram (g) of alcohol = 7 kilo-calories (kcal)

Ok.. I'm being scientific here, but its good rite? You learn something new everyday! =)

ok lah.. gtg and bathe liaoz.. I reeked of sweat?? ha..

Currently in a dilemma as to what to do over a personal matter, and I guess this song really speaks of what God's answer for this matter!

My goodness! how to do this?? waste my time.. so ya.. so tml, I have to do it in bunk liaoz.. =(

Shopping and more shopping!!

$$$ is the word to describe today!! I went shopping like siaoz today sia! Spend quite a few lump sum, but for a good cause lah! =).. anyway, shopping to me is a great and fun thing! It helps me to relief stress and makes me feel happy!

I starting to think that shopping is like a drug to me, which gets me high.. do you all feel the same?? Maybe you can feedback to me via my shoutbox? =)

I today actually found a bag which I like (to replace my camp bag lah), but then the big one is currently out of stock in the whole Singapore!.. so I'm currently waiting for their call loh.. see how.. maybe tml or sumthing I will got to Queenstown Shopping Centre and check it out loh! See whether they have it!

Can't find the photo of the bag in the net I want! wasted.. anyway, tat bag is called "Vertikal Outbound".. so ya.. if you manage to see it somewhere, dun hesitate to give me a call ya?? I wld be most grateful! =)

ok.. went to Plaza Singapura foodcourt for lunch and as usual, ate my yong tao fu frm the same store.. then at nite, went to Marina Square food court and ate curry mee and the ice yam paste with gingko nuts (its practically called "orh ni".. yupz.. nice nice! my meals are so good today sia!!

ok lah.. gtg and bathe and bk in later in camp.. tml got drills again.. oh no.. the tormentous drills once more.. haiz.. =(

Its hard!

Hey ppl! its time for me to blog again! Dun sigh.. it wont be long.. *ya.. as if*.. ha.. juz kidding! I try to make it short and sweet.. so enuf of me crapping.. me gonna start..

Today is really hard.. Hard as in the events happening around me! so here's why, and at the end of this blogpost, you wld koe why I said its hard!

(1) Childish Children's Service in Church

The service (sermon and the praise & worship session) today in church was absolutely CHILDISH! My goodness!! How did I manage to sit thru the 1.5hrs of childishness?? *gawks in disbelief*..
I was like getting bored halfway lah.. and the tone of adults speaking to the children is like so childish loh.. machiam like telling a fairy tale to the children.. there seems to be articulation in speech of the ppl on the stage speaking to the children.. I'm sure u koe wat I mean rite ?!?

But come to think of it, its Children's Day celebration today in church.. so everything muz be childish! I was siting next to Jeremy and talking to him (discussing at times abt how childish one can be when he/she is a child) abt how we have matured thru the years.. And frm tat, I realised tat I have like 9 yrs left my Sunday School class and sat in the main congregation!! It has been 9 yrs, juz like tat! Time really pass so fast in a twinkle of an eye!

(2) Tjow ranting abt the kids!

Well.. Tjow (my fellow youth in church) seems to be the 'man' when handling kids! I love his kids-handling method, becos' he has the power to discipline them! He has been assigned to look after 4 kids today at the service.. almost every youth got 4 kids.. except me whom I have none! actually, I dun koe wat to do if I have 4! my goodness!!

Anyway, everytime he looks after the kids in the church services, there seems to be something funny happening!
Last wk (it was my church anniversary), he also looked after 4 kids.. then being his friendly self, he asked one boy this question,
"Are you hungry?"

Guess wat's the boy's answer? He answered,
"No, I'm John"

When I heard abt this, I almost pengz!

Then this wk, something happened again when he looked after another 4 kids! This time, its involving a girl and a boy.. Do not wish to describe wat happens.. but wat I can say is tat the girl and boy has some perverted behaviour! *gulpz*.. my goodness.. such a young age! *gawks again in disbelief!*

(3) Children Control!

Then today after service, initially, I was not involved in helping the kids and all.. but then I got nothing to do and so I got bored, and moreover, there was like a shortage of manpower, so I lent my services/help to bring down the kids and also to help carry the goodie bags for the children!

So its like me controlling a crowd of like 10 children.. and I tell you.. they are even much harder to control than the crowd control at my camp! This is becos the children do not really like walk in straight lines to the boarding bus site, or the children all look the same! So the only way to identify them is thru the colour coded sticker on their shirt!

Phew! Children crowd control is tough job!

(4) Meer words!

Hey NS ppl.. if you have a copy of this mth's Pionner magazine and you read it, then you wld find this paragraph very familiar:

You wld realise tat the last line of the paragraph, I have bold it! This is becos, its natural for someone with uniform group background to like eager to go NS, and usually, tats their mentality of them before entering NS.. but once you enter NS, its a different story! You wld wish you wld remain a student forever instead! Well.. I guess tat 80%-90% (if not, 99%) wld agree with me tat wat I said is true!

Anyway, the person who said this thing (ie, Mr Joshua Gouw Kun Long) is none other the Joshua tat I koe who is frm my church! I actually didnt notice it (though I've read finish the mag, but have only read the left column and not the right!) until my best bud frm church, Alvin, actually told me abt it.. and after which I knew it, I spread to almost my whole youth group actually koes abt this!! And I've promised Joshua tat I wld publicise this thing on my blog, and there it is! If you, Joshua Gouw Kun Long, is reading this, your wish is my command! It is in my blog!! No escaping!! wahahaha... *evil laugh*
Alvin was worse.. He said he is considering to scan the page in 1600 dpi (ie, photo quality) and put it in his blog.. as to whether he does tat is another story!! Joshua, so you better pray hard tat he wld forget the matter!

(5) Hard to believe!

Well.. this is something really hard to believe.. today, then I knew tat one of the relief teacher (who was teaching me E. Maths and a bit of English when I was Sec 3), was actually the father of my fellow youth group member, Ryan.. it was really hard to believe at first.. but then as time goes by, I juz believe loh.. becos at first sight, Ryan and his dad looks totally different! The world is so small lah! Juz can't believe it!

(6) Personal sharing!

Today after church, went with the youths to Cuppage food court for dinner! the reason why we didnt go to Meridian Hotel or Cuppage terrace is becos they want to have a Youth Camp meeting at Cuppage Foodcourt, becos of some conveniences for the meeting!

So today the table was actually initially sat by a lot of ppl.. but then they moved.. so its left with my best bud, Alvin, and another youth member, Jeremy.. so 3 of us are like shifting tables to eat..

I ate the meatball soup with rice frm a pig organ soup stall (thinking tat the soup wld be power-filled with grounded black pepper).. but I was wrong! It sux lah! I knew I shld have eaten either the same stall as Alvin or order Malay food juz like Jeremy! haiz.. =(

Anyway, after we 3 have finished eating, we shifted tables to nearer to the other youths.. and when we sat there, Alvin got a drink and I've got myself a bowl of mango lychee ice dessert, despite my fleme in my throat (becos' of the recovery of my sore throat)!

Then as time pass, Jeremy had to shift tables again for attending the mtg (which is juz opposite lah!).. and then its left with Alvin and myself!

Then, as Alvin and I juz talk, we started to get real personal.. and he shared his personal stuff whilst I shared mine! We both had a very good time of sharing! Alvin, if you are reading this, thank YOU once again for providing a listening ear !! You will ALWAYS be my best buddy! =).. Cheers!

My back hurts!

Well.. today parade drill is not as bad as yesterday's! Yesterday was really an ultimate torture!

This morning I woke up with a sore throat (due to the continuous coughing yesterday) and a back ache.. The back ache is untolerable, in a sense tat whenever I sit down or bend down too long, when I try to straighten my back, my back wld juz hurt! I told my sgt abt the matter this morning, saying tat if its becoming unbearable, then I wld fall out!

But then, I had the fighting spirit, in a sense tat I carried on.. becos' whilst doing the drill, my back did not ache or anything like tat! Even if it does, I wld try to control it!

Certainly glad abt today, becos I bk out at 5pm and will only bk in on Sun 2359!.. so ya.. my long wkend.. but then again, I sympathise my shift ppl who is doing duty right now in camp! I think they super shack already! My heart goes out to them!

Its 3 more rehearsals to the CoC parade on 11/10.. and speaking of which, my base anniversary is in a few days time, and I think tat we get to go for the base dinner.. dun koe how good is tat, but at least got free food! ha.. I very gian4 peng3 (hokkien for being greedy) right?? ha.. =P

ok lah.. I'm very tired liaoz! Had a long day!! Gonna attend church tml! Yeh!! =).. Can sleep in late liaoz! Yippie!

On Parade again..

Well.. after 1 mth of mounting, its back to drills again! And I can tell u tat I'm totally shacked out!
Exhausted. Shack. Tired. Fatigue. Worn-out. Drained. Dead beat.

Oh.. btw, I'm training for the Chain-of-Command (CoC) Parade which wld be held on 11/10/05, so we are preparing hard for it.. almost everyday have drills loh!

Well.. comparing the drill standards and the training for the event, SAF Day 2005 seems to be the worst of all (comparing SAF Day 2005, NDP 2005, RSAF Day 2005).. but then after today, all of us agreed tat CoC 2005 is the WORST!! The training is darn siong lah!

This is becos its like we rest for 15 mins, followed by a 1 hr NO rest drill practice! And then my base RSM (who wld be the parade RSM for CoC 2005) is garang! He always say our drills no good whenever he come.. but wat he dun understand is tat we have done it over and over and over again.. till the pt of us being fatigue and all, so no energy.. and moreover, its under the hot sun! And worse still.. my base RSM "knocked us down" for 5 push-ups! Well.. this is the first time I got knocked down for drilling for a parade... arghh..

Then we are like saying to each other, we wld rather mount duty then do these drills! At first, one guy whom I koe actually resisted his choice of mounting, actually changed his mind after like 1 round of the drill!
He actually resisted inititally is becos he wants his wkends (ie, sat and sun).. but then the drills prove too much for him!.. so ya..

Speaking of mounting, wat I koe frm my friends in my shift is tat tml's manning strength doing duty in the main guardrm wld be so little tat each one has to do at least 16 hrs of duty, instead of the normal 9-10 hrs.. so ya.. think they wld be more fatigue than us loh! but then still, mounting is better than drill.. one of them actually said he wld rather do drills then mounting.. I told him abt our training, but then he still insisted then drills is better than mounting! Well.. I called him to go and try instead, but too bad, he can't lah..

Then in the evening, I ask one newbie who is in the supporting contingent! Last time they during course, said we in GOH slack.. now he is doing the drills.. so I asked him whether slack or not.. now, he koes our pain and he said its not slack after all.. becos its doing the same thing over and over and over again!

Well.. tats how it is with drills.. they believe on the rationale that practice makes perfect! ya ritez! At the expense of us staying in the hot sun and baked like a roasted pig for eating! The sun is darn hot I tell u.. Hot till the pt tat if I did not bathe after the drill, I wld still feel it!

Actually decided not to come back after the drills, but then everyone seems to like go back, so I juz follow loh.. fortunately I came home, becos' my mum has used a traditional healing method on me, and now I feel a lot better! But my nose is still running and though the sore throat is ok, I now got a slight cough! Its the common flu bug lah! haiz.. =(

But dun need to worry.. its long wkend for me.. tat is I bk out tml frm 5pm and will only be back on sun 2359! juz hope tat nothing will happen during the wkend (like mounting and stuff on wkend).. choy! *touch wood*..

ok.. gtg and prepare myself for bk in later.. and another day of tormentous drills tml.. haiz..

I'm falling sick!

*sniff* *sniff*.. I'm falling sick! My back is aching and I've got a soar throat.. now my nose is "running" like a tap! Argh! Signs of flu?? I wld think so! Shld I report sick or shld I not?? *confused*

Anyway, did duty yesterday for 24 hrs, and by right, I shld get 24 hrs of off.. but then, becos' tml is our rehearsal for the upcoming Chain of Command (CoC) Parade 2005 which is going to be on 11/10/2005, therefore, rehearsals is a must! Therefore, my off kenna "jia" (hokkien for being taken advantage of!).. so its like 2359 muz bk in! Whoa! This is so last minute!! Today then I koe abt it!! Really tired liaoz and now, my off still kenna "jia"?? tian1 li3 zai4 na2 li3??

Got quite fed up liaoz.. till the pt of like since now I'm sick, I thought of reporting sick tml so I can skip the rehearsal.. well?? Shld I do tat?? I dun koe lah.. I shall see my condition tml morning and decide how loh! If its getting worse, I will go and report sick! What happens if I do the drills halfway then I faint?? Tat wld be worst rite??

But of course, this CoC thing comes with an advantage! Its 8am-5pm frm Mon-Fri and Sat-Sun wld be off for us (tat means we get our wkends!), and we DUN need to mount! However, the flip side of it is tat we can only enjoy these privileges for 2 wks! After tat, its back to normal.. and we also have to like "return" back the wkend P1s personnel their favour, by helping them to 'tah' the wkend P1.. well.. tat still depends on my sgt lah.. if those punishment personnel has 'extras' and the sgts decide they help us 'tah', then no prob liaoz.. may not need to return the "favour".. =)

I'm now like feeling so sick tat I dun feel like doing anything! Oh.. I'm now addicted to my phone.. becos... I've got "The Sims: Bustin Out" Game in my phone, and I've been playing it non-stop! Its so addictive! I think I'm going to play my phone soon again!!

ok lah.. I can't take it liaoz.. need to play it again! ha...

Well.. call me a blog slut or sumthing.. becos I've juz changed my blogskin! Quite a lot of ppl (esp. 3notes) is hinting to me to change skin becos' its either its not
me (as wat 3notes says) or not very nice!! So there you go.. another blogskin changed for you faithful readers out there!! Hope you like this refreshing change!! As for the music, I dun really koe wat music.. temporarily, still this music lah.. =)

Oh!! This is a miracle!! I manage to complete this blog within 2 hrs! Its really an achievement! Usually a blog like this takes abt 6 hrs!! yes!! 6 long, tiring hrs! So wat do u think of my new blog?? Better?? Worse?? Pls. kindly commend on my shoutbox! =)

Well.. a couple of things happen over this weekend, which makes me think its really all change!! here it goes:

(1) OCC 17th Anniversary Bash

Had a sort of photo makeover! Usually u dun see me in sunglass rite?? Well.. the photo (in this blogpost) is me with sunglass (sunglass provision lending courtesy of Alvin!).. thnx bro!! I look cool in it huh.. *how thick skin can I be?? ha..*

Was glad tat I attended yesterday's anniversary at church (except tat an unhappy issue happened b4 service and I'm really bui-song abt it.. dun wish to talk or think abt it, or else, I will flare up and all!! dun wanna spoil the happy mood of this blogpost juz becos of this matter!).. anyway, got to koe a lot more youths than I usually talk to! I wld think its like 4-5 more!! and tat's a lot.. judging frm my irregular attendance at church! Wat I can say abt my church youths, is tat they are indeed a fun bunch to be with!!

Wat a pity tat I can't attend Youth Camp 2005.. haiz.. its juz like 6 days before my leave will start!! haiz.. =(.. guess I will have to attend Youth Camp 2006 loh! =(

(2) My pretty face!

Well.. Today went window shopping with my parents, before I came about this product, named, Nugeno.. Its quite a popular product, since its like everywhere in the media (esp. in newspapers and magazines).. its the product tat Pierre Png of MediaCorp actually endoses!! Had seen it for quite a while, but then only today then I decide to like buy it and try!!

The saleslady was like trying to push me to buy the whole range (which wld easily cost me $100+).. but then, I only decide to buy the cleansing foam, to see whether it can help to remove the 2 red patches on my face!!

Then my dad came, and she introduced this exfoliating gel, and after much explanation, my mum decided tat my dad shld get the exfoliating gel and cleansing cream too, so my dad and I wld use it!!

So ain't I vain?? Ha.. guess the market trend is for guys to look good too! heard frm the saleslady tat she has even got a customer (who is a guy mind u!) actually buys facial masks!! *gulpz* See.. told u guys these days are real vain.. and I'm NO exception!!

Hey.. ain't it already a couple of things tat I've mentioned above?? Guess I have more or less done my job.. so the next step is for me to exfoliate my face, cleanse my face, bathe, brush teeth, sleep.. haiz.. my leave is ending tonite! In fact, I'm like going back camp in like 5 hrs! haiz..

UPS & downs!

Well.. lots of events really happen this wk!
Am currently quite sleepy now.. so I'll try to make it short!

Let's start with the happy things:

Happy Event (1): Extras cleared!

I've cleared my extras liaoz! Tat means I do not have any outstanding extras to serve! Yeh!! So my holidays/weekends are more or less free loh! =).. So tat explains why I didn't blog for so long!

Happy Event (2): Pass IPPT!

I've passed my IPPT second window for the first time!! This means tat I do NOT take my IPPT again until a yr or two later!! This means tat the IPPT tat I took is so called my ORD IPPT lah! Yeh!! So happy loh! This is the FIRST time tat the first IPPT I take (like after 3-5mths) can clear! Usually I will take like more than a dozen times before I pass! Really thank God loh!! =)

*Of course, there is a price to pay; my abs muscles and legs are cramping.. feeling worst with my abs muscles, becos' of sit-ups mah!!

*If you are curious to koe my results, here it is.. (u promise not to laugh huh!).. Mind you.. a pass for my IPPT is even better than striking 4D ot gold! ha.. I'm serious!! Anyway, enuf of crap.. here are my results:

- Sit Ups (in 1 min): 47
- Chin Ups: 6
- Standing Broad Jump (SBJ): 212 cm
- Shuttle Run (100m): 10.6 sec
- 2.4km Run: 11 mins 55 secs

*I de-proved my results frm last time for a few of my stations.. but wat matters most is I passed! Yeh!!

Happy Event (3): My N-Gage QD ROX!!

My N-gage QD is up and ready! I've got games and mp3s! My mp3 shiok ah! My games even more shiok (but have not played it though! Its other ppl play for me! ha.. will play it someday!!) All thanx to my friend, Dexian, who did the things for me! =)

Happy Event (4): On the speed of recovery...

Went to hospital and visit my friend, Mark, who had a major operation! Thank God he's discharging frm NUH tml or else, I wld have no chance to see him! Glad he's been doing fine and still remain his happy self despite the operaration!! Also glad tat he's got a very good nurse (who is on an intern-ship attachment frm NYP) to look after him! Guess God's got everything planned out for him??
So here is wishing Mark a speedy recovery!! =)

Happy Event (5): Quality time spent!

Finally after like close to a mth or two, I get to go jalan with my parents! (usually I'll be at camp either mounting duty or my parents too tired to go out and stuff!!) The time is so so precious! You can never understand the feeling tat I've had! You really want to treasure those times together! Well.. thank God for those times lah!

Happy Event (6): On leave! Long wkend!!

Last but not least, I'm currently on leave frm Fri (23/9) to Sun (25/9).. I'm clearing leave.. so Monday (26/9) then I go back!!
Saturday (26/9) is my church anniversary.. so I get to see my friends frm GenJosh again!! Yeh!! =)

Sad Event: Unnecessary quarrel

Now, haiz.. for the sad things!.. actually there is only one lah.. but I will try to cut short my explaination ah.. then u koe how sad and furious I am till the point tat I wanna beat tat fellow up!!.. so here goes..

There is this guy, let's juz call him 'B'.. who kenna "eaten" into his rest time close to 45 mins, becos' an overlook of the sgt's part.. so given the nature as he is, he keeps yakking non-stop.. and when I called him to shut up, he scolds me back.. fwah! I really felt like beating him up!!

Then nevermind.. I koe a hungry man is an angry man and moreover I koe his nature.. Then night came and becos' one of them had to take urgent leave, so one of our guys frm the main guardroom went over to Eastern Gate to replace the missing manpower.. So its like this guy who went over was suppose to be my partner for guarding the gate at 1am to 3am, followed by a foot prowl at 3am.. but since he has gone over to eastern, then his duty is splitted with 3 other personnels.. and one of them was 'B'.. aiyoh! I got a shock of my life when I heard tat!!

So anyway, 1am came and I took over the main gate duty! 'B' was there already since 10.45pm.. His duty ends at 2am.. Then guess wat!! He again harps on the issue of like he's already been eaten 45 mins into his rest time, and now, have to do an extra hr of duty and also in the morning, he has to push off his duty 1 hr earlier becos' of some last min flight thing which all big shots will gather.. and again, he yaks away.. I juz treat it as some helicopter flying noise or sumthing.. and I juz leave him to yak on his own! Then 1.45am came and I kindly told him tat its 1.45am and you can wake the person up.. I gave him a suggestion, but he stubbornly resisted to follow his own idea.. He practically juz pye over the pyset for the person to come out! I was telling him this:

"hallo! its in the wee hrs of the nite.. u pye like tat who will listen?? Tat guy whom he's calling is a heavy sleeper! b4 I came out for duty, I slept for 2 hrs, and in tat 2 hrs, I did not hear anything over the pyset! It was tat quiet! So wat makes u think tat he will wake up?? Why dun u juz take my suggestion and thus, u can be assured of ur much needed rest, since u complain abt it in the afternoon?"

He refused to listen and he kept on pying.. until a point till someone frm another guarding station pye back to ask him to stop it! Very noisy!! He then gave him the same suggestion tat I had told 'B' earlier!! 'B' then no choice but to put back the pyset! I was so angry with 'B' tat I pye back to the guarding station:

"Tats wat I told 'B' earlier, but he didn't want to listen!"

'B' then answered me,
"Why do you have to rub it in when I dun listen to ur suggestion?? YOu cld have juz leave me alone to decide"

I got so fed up and I answered 'B' (in a very ignored tone!),
"Eh.. you dun push ur luck ah! I'm darn angry already! Here am I lacking of sleep and I have to do duty, and when I'm here, I have to hear ur kao-pei-ing! Its not tat I didn't give u a suggestion and leave you to die or sumthing.. It's YOU who didn't want to take my suggestion! Here am I trying to control my anger, so you better not let it explode!"

Then as if 'B' is a mad man, he kept murmuring stuff to himself.. dun koe wat is he talking!! Sometimes I really wonder whether does he have a slight problem or sumthing! Does he have this slight mental problem of all these?

Then 'B' no choice, but to suck thumb and heeded my suggestion.. but then juz as he was abt to do it, the person woke up already..

Then he came back and started yakking again.. so to stop his nagging, I replied in a sarcastic manner:
"ok.. i'm sorry ok.. pls. stop!"

Then when tat person took over his duty, I re-told this whole story to him.. and he said he is even more stubborn than a cow! He certainly live up to his 'ben4 niu2' nickname tat we gave him, becos' 'B' real name sounds like his nickname! serious!! I'm not kidding! Shall not divulge 'B' name lah.. help him save some face!!

Was super pissed off by this incident lah!!

*Yawnz*.. really tired.. need to sleep liaoz! Yesterday out of the 24hrs, I only had 4hrs of sleep.. 20hrs was either doing duty or can't sleep! haiz..

Oh.. did I mention tat I will be on leave frm tml (23/9) to sun (25/9).. so tat means mon (26/9) morning then I go back! shiok ah!! guess this is another event!

Happy!

Well!! Certainly I'm most happy with myself.. becos' I finally bought my N-gage QD! and at a cheap price too! A cheaper $20 than wat the same shop told me, becos' yesterday the shop juz reduced its price of $20!! power rite? =)

But one thing bad is tat I have to wait till Mon or sumthing then my mp3 and all tat is working! Becos' need to install a prog.. but then, dun koe whether my memory card spoil or wat.. can't open a certain application and all tat, but able to check my memory status.. weird rite?? ai yah.. leave it to my friend to do it tml! =).. hope he can help!! =)

Mixed feelings!

Well.. today is a day of mixed feelings..

(1) Tired

Slept quite late yesterday and had only like 5 hrs of sleep.. so naturally wld feel tired lah! Then at camp, still have to do physical exercises like push-ups and running.. man.. then in the afternoon, I have to do some area cleaning.. my bunk is so dusty sia, tat everytime I sweep the floor, I wld sneeze.. After which, I was super shack liaoz.. Then I slept frm like 2pm-4pm really soundly! Then when its 4pm, we get ready for our stand-by area! Thank goodness its all right! =).. Then at 5pm sharp, we book out.. but the sad news is tat 2359 tonite need to bk in camp becos' tml do duty!

(2) Happy

Man! Ain't I'm happy! Becos' my friends at camp is like very into the phone, Nokia N-Gage QD.. didn't like the phone in the past, but then now, I start to appreciate it, becos I get to like hear mp3 and bluetooth! Quite a nice change frm my Nokia 3120! So I was like frantically calling mobile companies to check out the prices and stuff.. then the first I called was M1 shop.. they said they did not carry it anymore and my trade in value of my Nokia 3120 costs $50.. quite shocked initially, becos' I juz wonder how much the value drops.. it was like $100 a few mths back!

Then, when I came back, after I finished cutting my hair at AMK (which I'm quite happy with the hairstyle I currently have now), I went to search for Nokia N-gage QD without contract.. the standard price there is $288.. so after trade in, then it wld costs me $188! I actually like wanted to buy tml already, but then I thought of my money issue, then I was held back and decide to get it only next mth when I've saved enuf money! so this mth I muz be very prudent in my spending!

I came home and discuss with my mum and stuff! Then she said better not buy frm AMK, as it may not be reliable! So I called up quite a reputable mobile company and the price is $318 ($30 more than wat was offered in AMK).. but then I've got another phone which I can trade in and its a camera phone (its Sony Ericcson 508i) and the trade in value is $150.. so not bad lah.. I still can trade in and get a better price.. frm a reputable company somemore! =).. so I've made up my mind to get a Nokia N-gage QD nxt mth! Yeh!

(3) Angry

Today at camp, my dad msg me tat I can't play the piano in church for my church anniversary, due to the decision made by my church pastor's wife (who is also the overall in charge for the music ministry in my church).. When I read the msg, I was boiling mad!

Imagine sumone tell u tat u go ahead with ur playing, but then after a while, she said no, becos' since I never go to the music practice, therefore I'm not suitable to play, becos' its not fair for others!

Pls loh! Last time in my old church (ie, HCC) but under the same pastor, the music ministry I was in also never like tat! We did NOT have any prior practices for church anniversaries and stuff! We juz play on the spot (we juz like practice 1 hr before the main event) and we still did juz fine! So wat makes it so special tat OCC (the church I'm in now after the intergration) needs to have so much practice?

I was fuming mad whenever I read the msg! I was sometimes forget thwe issue, but when I read it, I wld like fuming mad and at the same time, erase the msg off my phone!.. I was at the verge of like changing church if I really can't take it! In fact, I'm actually quite determined NOT to play anymore for the main congregation (dun care whether its combined or separate services).. I will juz play for GenJosh (which is OCC Youth lah).. I dun think they will be tat stringnet with the practices part I hope?

In fact, I have a thought.. maybe the pastor wife is jealous of my talent! she scared I'm better than her and ppl praise me more than her! Tat's wat I thought lah! Maybe there is certain truth to it!

I told my mum tat the only reason I stay in OCC is becos' I've got some really great buddies in OCC Youth.. so tat's y!

I dun even koe now how I will face the music leader when Sat comes where I will have to attend church ! I'm not to sure how I wld face her, becos' I'm worried whilst speaking the truth to her, I wld mouth some bad things abt the pastor's wife and this is not very good! You koe me lah! Once I get hot, anything can happen!

Ai yah!! I dun koe lah.. this morning I do my QT was juz really applied to this issue.. (its like when I read this morning, I got a feeling tat this thing has happen b4.. but never did I expect tat it wld happen later in the day!) but then somehow I dun feel like accepting wat was spoken during my QT this morning!

Haiz! This is sooooo irritating! I'm trying to forget the issue altogether, but then, its like everytime I thought of it, I will like be fuming mad! Argghhh!!

Well.. so u see.. today is really me having mixed feelings! haiz..

The END!!

Yes!! After 3 torturing days, its the end of threat con charlie exercise in camp! The exercise was filled with many torturous hours, not to mention the lack of sleep (either we are running drills or solve my OC's injects or worried tat our sleep wld be disturbed becos of the sudden turnouts- at least tats for me!)

So as a result, eyebags for the first time in army life started appearing on my *ahem* handsome face! ha.. quite ugly lah!.. ha.. but I juz realised tat the 2 red patches on my face is getting better.. probably is becos of the cool weather these few days! hope it remains like tat! =)

I shall not elaborate the various injects or how we detected it and stuff or once we found the bomb wat we muz do, becos' very lazy lah.. moreover, may be a military secret! so ya.. but wat I can tell u is tat, even though I am sure of which points to run, wat I'm afraid whenever I'm out there doing duty, is tat once I'm nervous, I start to worry and my mind wld suddenly go blank and afraid tat I wld forget wat to do and stuff and in the end, kenna scolded or punished by my PC! this is so scary lah! I was almost at the verge of breaking out whenever I do duty.. not to mention the tremendous amt of stress I have when my OC was juz behind me in a car seeing me perform the checks! You wld be like super stress, becos you are worried tat wat's on ur OC's mind (maybe he will suddenly throw u a situation and u are expected to react accordingly, and this is wat I'm afraid of!).. haiz..

Today one of my shift mates kenna scolded by dun koe who lah.. I think its either a military personnel or a civilian (can't remember who lah)!! The person scold my friend an inflexible 3G soldier.. and the 3G stands for gong, goon-do, ga-bra.. so bad rite?? now, after he told his friends abt it, ppl start calling him a 3G soldier.. ha.. but a bit poor thing la!

Anyway, when the news of tat exercise charlie is over, we were so happy! we were all shacked out, becos of the continous drills and stuff.. haiz! so glad its over!
Oh.. during one of my duty (which is in a very ulu place), I got so bored tat I thought of a very 'cold'/lame joke and I actually asked everyone in my shift becos' today I nothing to do mah.. ha.. anyway, the question is as follows:

"What bag does Darth Vader carry?".... answer is........ "Duffel Bag"!! ha.. very 'cold'/lame rite?? ha.. well.. guys who went to NS, u shld koe wats a Duffel Bag?!?! =)

ok.. enuf abt camp stuff! I was like not at home for like 4 days (so tat means I'm deprived of my computer/blogging).. so today in total, over the period of 4 days, I've received 49 emails! *gulpz*

So today I cld not take it liaoz (becos' being cooped up in camp too long.. and also I want to reward myself for a job well done during charlie!).. I went out on a wkday for the first time in my NSF life!!
So below is my description!

First and foremost, I had wanted to be in this place, but didn't have the chance to, and finally today, I get to go, and tat place is Carl's Jr (located at Marina Square Shopping Centre Level 1 & one more place but I forgot where).. To find out more abt Carl's Junior, check out this webbie (http://www.carlsjr.com/home/).. it was enjoyable.. the burger is like super big lah (2 times the size of a MaChicken burger!).. the menus are like Burger King but the good thing is tat the soft drinks there are FREE FLOW!! you drink until you peng! ha.. I had 4 16 oz cups of different soft drinks! I'm determine to make my money's worth! Hey.. its NOT cheap! The meal I ate today costs $8.60 (the burger ALONE costs $5.50).. expensive rite?? but its quite worth it lah.. so no point complaining.. below are some of the photos (All taken with my Nokia 6230) to prove wat I've said:

After the lunch @ Carl's Jr, I went to watch "One More Chance" the movie by Jack Neo!
I must say tat this is a good movie, though the magazine only give 1.5 stars out of 5 stars for its review! I dun really see wat's bad in this movie! Its good lah, becos' it really speaks of real life!

The movie really lived up to its motto, "Guarantee to make you laugh & cry" becos it really does loh!! I laugh at certain parts and I cried at certain parts! This is one movie which make me cry so much sia! Its so touching!! Well.. I shall not be a spoiler as to tell you wat happen and stuff.. So if you are interested, go to the cinema and catch the movie urself ya!!

So I'm proud to say tat after I've seen this movie, I'm now a fan of Jack Neo movies, despite my friends telling me how bad his movies is or how not worth the money tat you pay for!

So go and catch the movie if you can lah hor! Definately NOT a waste of money!

1.. 2.. 3.. Change!

Well.. change is the world to describe this blogpost indeed.. a few events tat happened as to why I said so..

(1) The most obvious one is tat I've change my skin of this blogpost.. well.. you wld realise tat it has become much simpler and not so complicated! Tiresome of seeing the same skin as well lah.. so I change loh!
Some of you wld definately prefer my previous skin, but then, its my blog.. so I dun care! haha.. =P

(2) Yesterday at camp, manage to get to know 2 new guys much better becos' was doing duty with them, so got a chance to koe them more! One of course is Samuel and the other is Ming Jun (who is my other friend, John, who is currently in shift 3, good friend in the shift!.. ya get wat I mean rite?? In other words, he is also a good friend of mine when he is in shift lah!).. got to koe both of them more and more each day.. hope I mount with the rest of the newbies soon, so I can get to know them better!!
*Actually, I have known these few ppl quite well liaoz: Anli, Randy (btw, he now treats me as his good friend/da ge), michael, samuel, ming jun..
But of course, I chatted with Ming Jun for 2 solid hours yesterday lah becos' I was doing main gate with him mah! so got to koe him more!! a nice guy juz as wat John had told me! Ming Jun is actually those quiet guy lah!! but surprisingly I'm able to talk to him loh.. =).. see how friendly I am!! ha... *thick skinned*..

(3) Changing of duty attire frm a smart 4 to a long 4 was done yesterday.. it is super hot sia especially in the afternoon! But the rationale of having long 4 is tat to prevent dengue fever cases!

Today the mounting duty mounted at 7am.. becos' today is my squadron 22nd anniversary.. so got free movie and makan at Suntec Eng Wah Cinema! The movie we watched was "Herbie: Fully Loaded"... its a good show! Go catch it if you are into racing!! Its quite good.. at some parts of the show, it was so touching tat I almost cried! At least I dun see a lot of ppl sleeping (at least for my shift!), so guess the show muz be of some entertainment value!
Well.. Ming jun so poor thing.. in the movie cinema, no one sat with him.. so john, andric and I went over and sat with him! we 4 had a great time lah!!
Then once the show ended, the whole squadron went to the toilet and it so filled up tat ppl have the queue! All the cubicles and urinals were occupied! its like 30 ppl is in the toilet at once! ok... enuf of the toilet issue!
Well.. then after which, we all proceeded back to the VIP room for makan and lucky draw.. the lucky draw was like a fluke lah.. most of the prizes went to the mounting shift (who was at camp doing duty!) and the standby shift (which went there straight frm their hse, and they bk out since yesterday morning.. so machiam is like their leave loh!.. those tat P1 then need to go back immediately after show.. or else, its like the standby shift 2359 then bk in tonite!.. so they somehow "earn" it lah!)
Well.. the photo u see on ur left, was taken outside the cinema! We had some candid moments lah.. like my friend actually accidentally approached my RSM's daughter to take a photo of us, so in the end, my RSM came into the picture and took a photo with us.. but then, its like after the photo turn out, its not clear anymore.. its in fact shaky!! maybe she dun koe how to use the camera?? haiz.. wasted!.. so the pic I posted here is the best lah! I've got other photos taken today, but not with me.. its with another person.. he had not given me the photos yet.. will upload when I get the photos! =)
*Oh.. before I cont, I wanna thank Andrew for teaching me this feature of uploading photos thru' blogger! Thanx bro! U're the best! =)

(5) My new PC is super garang lah! He gives drills like 6.30pm and 11.30pm! 11.30pm being the worse, becos' you have to run the furthest! Heard tat last time, this PC gives drills like 5am! a bit the garang rite? haiz.. have his pic.. will show u when its ready!

Before I leave, I shall leave some words of wisdom (which I heard on the radio the other day on Class 95 FM, which a mother had spoken these words to her child.):

"These days, there is no right or wrong. Its just subjective."

Go figure!

Hate my standby days!

Well.. today I reached super early in camp, becos' the buses (both 135 and 169) came early.. its like 6.58am, I reached camp.. it was never so early I've reach!

Then when I was in camp, I went to fall in for PT (Physical Training) for it was instructed yesterday by my sgt during dismounting! haiz.. so today my new PC (2LT Ivan) plus my previous PC (2LT Samuel), with both of them combine, our PT was a jialat jialat one! quite siong I muz say, considering I've not exercised like in ages!

Then it was back to our bunks and sleep for me! but somehow cld not sleep.. juz close my eyes for a while.. Then juz when I thought no one accompany me to eat lunch, suddenly one of my friend frm HQ is looking for lunch kakkis.. so we went together.. but before tat, I have to pass up a suggestion form (which I'm always doing it but most of the time, it got rejected.. hope it works this time!) to my sgt.. Just then, I saw one of my former sgt who has been transferred to shift 2 and due to his MC yesterday, he came back to bunk and slack frm 8am-5pm.. so the 2 sgts also followed us loh.. so now, its like having 3 lunch kakkis! So happy!

Then after lunch, we got a brief recap lesson of our duties frm my new PC.. then after which, its a get-to-know-you session where we give a brief introduction abt ourselves! And there is this particular guy called Samuel, I wld think tat he is the "kai1-xing1-guo3" of my shift for he talks a lot of cock.. and he also is a motivator lah.. becos' even though he is IPPT Gold, but then I actually saw him pushing and motivating one of his friends (whom was in GOH shift last time but due to his medical problem, he was out of GOH) to run loh.. quite a good guy.. he looks those kind of having xiao3 cong1 ming2 type.. u koe wat I mean?? Anyway, with such a shift and such a superb PC, its definitely been a blessing for me to be in this shift sia! Looking forward the mounting session tml, becos' I want to see how the shift works together!.. but tml nite, sure got drill, becos threat con charlie coming this fri-next mon.. haiz.. =(

Oh.. this wed (which is our dismounting day) we going to have a squadron day becos' its my squadron anniversary.. so we are going to Suntec City for a movie (Herbie: Fully Loaded) and we will have makan there and then a lucky draw and stuff.. well.. quite happening ah.. ha.. though its nothing much, but at least I get to watch a FREE movie! ha.. tell u more details when I blog again on wed lah!

In the meantimes, its 2359 at Sembawang Air Base for roll call.. so have to go back later, becos' tml mounting duty!

Walking down the aile!

The duty yesterday doesn't seem as bad as I thought (becos' of new ppl and stuff), becos' its like in a few mins (becos' of my *ahem* friendly nature), I get to koe them.. and after juz 1 mounting, we are like friends loh which we have known for a long time.. in fact, I koe quite a no. of their names liaoz after like 24 hrs! =).. but yesterday manning strength was only 14, so quite bad.. so everyone actually increased their hrs of duty.. haiz.. was appointed a CISCO duty yesterday, so my duty standard is 12 hr!

Well.. today is the day for Matthew & Claudia's Tjow wedding.. It was held at Saint Andrew's Village (the old Saint Andrew's Primary School, which is my school lah! so being there today certainly brings back lots of memories!)

Yesterday while I was on duty, Carlise SMS me and ask me whether izzit possible for me to play a hymn for Tjow's wedding today! I said ok lah.. so its like after I dismounted today, I rushed home in a cab and then bathe and Carlise gave me a lift.. Thanx Carlise =)

So I met with all my church friends again.. and whilst I was practicing, guess who I saw! I actually saw Silver Ang (who was a contestant in the recent Project Superstar which ended like 2 days ago! Silver was the top 6 finalists!.. so ya..).. was quite shocked to see her lah, and after much probing and gossips, Silver is actually Tjow's good friend! Man.. Singapore is such a small world lah!

It was like close to a 600 strong crowd and thank God, I felt very peaceful and not nervous abt the chords n stuff.. but at one time, I stopped playing becos' I got too carried away with my playing, tat I forgot the chords.. ha.. but I recovered in time lah! Was also sang one song, "Power Of Your Love" so last minute by the request of the lady host of the event, Carlise.. so thank God the item went well and my voice was sustained! =)

Well.. took only 12 pics of the wedding.. becos' I not a very pro photographer.. so no nice pose and stuff.. moreover got official photographer so I dun need to be 'extra'!

After the wedding, it was time for a photo shoot.. and last of all came the OCC members (my church lah!!).. but it was too big.. so we split with youths and all..

After the photo-taking session, I manage to chat with Tjow;s best man abt his stuff and all. apparently, Tjow today wear the rank of sgt in his police No. 1 uniform, whilst his best man was an inspector who is in No. 1 uniform.. so I chatted with him and stuff lah.. abt his police training and all.. he's a nice chap to talk with lah.. but its a pity I am hungry, so I proceeded to eat my dunch (ie, dinner + lunch).. quite a big spread.. I ate till I 'surrendered'.. haha..

Separation is hard!

Separation is indeed hard!!.. Pls. dun be mistaken abt me separating with my girlfriend or sumthing (FYI: I'm still SINGLE & AVAILABLE!).. its juz tat my GOH shift ppl has juz been reshuffled into the 2 shifts to form a 3 shift system.. This means tat the GOH ppl has been separated more or less.. Those tat are good friends or form a very good clique has been separated!

For me, its not an exception! My P1 clique has been separated.. the occasional jokes we make fun of each other (even though they are irritating and sometimes make me fuming mad), but its these stuff tat creates a bond between us.. and now, we are all separated, this is so so hard! As u koe me, I'm quite a sendimental guy and I treasure friendships a lot, so this breaking up thing is making me real sad.. I actually shed tears yesterday nite b4 I slept whenever I thought of the issue of breaking up! haiz.. *tears*

Psst! Tell u a secret.. the newbies (which is in other shift) is actually worst than me.. heard frm my friends and officers tat today is the last day they together in their shift.. so its like after they dismount, they felt so shitty tat most of them actually cried their eyes out, as if there is no tml! ha.. serious.. I'm not exaggerating!! So you see.. guys do cry too!! This really shows how much we guys treasure friendships!

So becos' its like my new shift is mounting on sat (this means I can go to Tjow's wedding but not Church anniversary becos' I mounting on tat day!.. if I mount on mon - as in the original plan - then I wld be able to attend it loh! haiz..).. anyway, becos' of my duty on sat, therefore, I wld get off tml (fri) and go back either tml nite or sat morning will depend tml loh.. my sgt will call tml! haiz.. =(..

One thing good abt my new shift, is tat I'll get a new PC and this PC is super good and welfare! Had mounted duty with him quite a no. of times! He is an all round nice guy sia! So thank God for tat! =)

Oh.. today is the RSAF Day Parade and wat I can say is tat its quite waste of time lah! The parade actually is very simple only, but they make it like very grand and difficult, and we actually did 8 rehearsals (4-5 hrs each) for it.. wat a waste of time! Thank goodness in a jiffy (think its abt 45 mins) it was over and the GOH contingnet ppl did NOT faint.. only 2-3 ppl frm the supporting contingent actually fainted!! its quite obvious when at the back of you, suddenly u heard rifles juz producing a loud 'thud' on the cement ground, and u immediately koe tat person has fainted or simply put it in parade terms, 'drop'! well.. guess those supporting contingents did not conditioned themselves well enuf.. only *ahem* GOH personnel has conditioned ourselves so well tat we did not 'drop'.. we have indeed lift up a good name for GOH! =)

ok lah.. Well.. at least I get to rest tml.. ok lah.. I'm tired ppl! Hope to blog tml!!
