The dinner which was so enjoyable!!
Ok.. after yesterday's Cable Ski session, my arms today just got worst! Its aching even more.. oh man! Its either I never stretch before playing, or I actually did not exercise my arms for llooonnggg.. wahaha.. Oh watever!
** Photo on left: Check this out! Click to enlarge! This is a very good article! It got me thinking and agree to it!! =)
As usual, I got my daily dose of the "My Paper" from that super-fierce newspaper lady located at Serangoon NEL every morning..
Its my daily routine to read the newspapers from the start to end of my journey.. you can't do anything else except read right? =)
Then, I was flipping through, and I usually have a habit to read some articles which are of some interest (of course to do this, you just have to see the title whether it interests you!)..
And it so happened that the photo you see on the left is something which interest me, and as I read it, I couldn't help but agreeing to it more!
Click the picture to enlarge and then read it.. I got it from the online copy of "My Paper". After reading, you would be like hmm.. I cldn't agree more with the author.. why I didnt think of this? so ya.. All in all, its a very good article! You see and if there are any comments you want to make, you can tag me at my tagboard all rite =)
** Photo on right: Don't under-estimate this restaurant! This is the place where we have our Post CCG 2008 Dinner!!
After work, cab down with Kian Hong to "The Red House" @ Quayside, Robertson Quay, for our Post CCG 2008 dinner.. Its the company's way of thanking us for our efforts in playing CCG 2008. Though we didn't win, but what matters most is that we've played hard! =).. so ya.. so you want to see the menu? Here is the menu (not in the restaurant's exact words/names) in the order that they came out..
1) Cold Dish/Appetiser - 2 types of cooked squids (fried and boil, garnish with jellyfish).
2) Drunken Prawns in herbal broth.
3) Fish (cooked in Hong Kong style).
4) Spinach with various types of fishcake.
5) Black Pepper Crabs (2 Sri-Lankan Crabs).
6) Chilli crabs with mantou (2 Sri-Lankan Crabs).
7) Deep-fried butter crayfish
8) Mee Goreng
9) Mango Pomelo dessert
And mind you.. these dishes are all like very big serving (and everyone of us there was like wanna give up at some point!).. and also, the dishes were ala-carte based orders.. and they were ordered by my company's HR Vice-President!
By the way, my company's HR Vice-President and me, get along very well! Everytime he see me, he will say "hi" one.. confirm!!
Not only the food was good, the fellowship was also good.. Sat on the same table with Warren and with a fellow badminton player, with some other ppl from other teams.. so ya..
And they joked that I was from Myanmar.. ha.. I was like "what?".. my goodness! Then the question came... they asked me where I was from.. and I answered the obvious answer, "Singapore".. a few of them didnt believe.. they thought I was from our neighbouring country (u all go guess!).. ha.. then I asked them why they say that.. and they say its becos of my skin colour (I'm half-peranakan.. tat explains!) and also my accent when speak Mandarin.. If you have not realised, our fellow chinese race ppl who lives in our neighbouring country actually speaks in an accent which is only very unique to the country.. so once you hear that accent, you know where is his birthplace liaox!
I've explained why I had an occasional accent (which I totally can say that, unknowingly, I speak in a bit of the accent!), was becos of my previous workplace, whom I've communicated like a gazillion times everyday.. so ya.. as time goes by, it is a habit!!
Anyway, the nite went by.. and it was time for us to go home.. my CFO (Chief Financial Officer) offered to give a few of us a lift in his car.. so thoughtful and nice of him hor! =). but sitting in his car, very stressful I tell you! So tats why I kept my silence in the car as much as possible, becos one wrong word, that's it.. so one must be smart when in such situations lah! =)
Ok lah.. gtg and sleep liaox.. too shag liaox.. eyes closing.. =)

Cable Ski SHIOK!!
** Photo on left: Queuing up for my turn! (I'm riding the kneeboard if you need to know!).. =)
This morning went to office, feeling re-charged.. becos I know I am going to try something which I totally never know how to (or imagine myself doing it!) but have always wanted to try! Its none other than cable ski!
Some of you all may argue that wakeboarding is better.. of course! But then, money is the problem! If I have all the money in the whole world, I seriously wldn't mind going wakeboarding everyday man.. ha.. I've those kind of guy who likes the beach, sand and water!! =)
** Photo on right: The guys before the event starts!!
So when its almost time to leave my lab for the cable ski event location (which is at East Coast Lagoon), I changed into my beach wear and then all of a sudden, felt very comfortable.. haha.. I made a comment to Kian Hong that how nice I can wear like that to office everyday.. hahax..
Cab over to East Coast Lagoon for the event.. reached there and wait like 30 mins for the rest of the group to arrive.. so at last they did.. They got changed, and then we are all subjected to a short briefing!
After the briefing, its time for us to do it!! And the place was a bit crowded, so that's why we need to wait a bit longer for our turn.. each time we wait, we could wait like 15 mins.. so you imagine how many ppl are there!
My first board was called "easy-up" (which is like a wakeboard, but has more buoyancy, and thus, for beginners like us, it is much easier).. but ah.. you think its easy? No loh.. Apparently, I fall into the water like after like 2 metres into the waters! Tried again but then fall into the water at the same spot!
** Photo on left: A group photo before the event starts!! Spot any pretty gals? wahaha..
Just then, I've realised and saw that there was this kneeboard thing, and they said its the easiest.. hence, what I did was to use it and really see whether its that easy..
So that I was, in a kneeling-on-heels position, and lying my body forward and trying my best to keep my chest as low as possible (ie, body "sticking" close to the board), in order to maintain balance.. And the best part is that I got quite far with this.. I actually managed to go like 10 metres into the water, and then swim back to try again.. I then think to myself, this is it! This is the best! I wanna stick with this kneeboard!!
And then, I queued again.. this time, I held on to the kneeboard, and then was in the same position.. and there I went.. this time, I've managed to hold on till half of the enclosed area (which I think its about 100 - 200 metres!), and then fell into the water, becos I didnt really know how to manoevre myself on the kneeboard..
Though I fell into the water, it didnt matter, becos I was very very happy, becos it was my aim to like reach the point.. so ya.. my aim was achieved! And the best thing, I did travel some distance on the kneeboard and it was SSSHHHIIIOOOKKK lah! =)
So now, it was the last time, and I aim to see if I can reach the same point, if not further! But to my disappointment, it didnt happened! I reached almost the same point.. but oh well.. at least that was my initial aim.. so not so bad! =)
** Photo on right: A group photo after the event! A SUCCESS!! Yeh!! =)
After my last turn was done, went to wash up.. and man.. I was hungry!! Fortunately, the organising committee brought some "Hans" Sandwich for us, and it was good lah! Ha.. when you are hungry, anything is nice..
Then its time for us to go.. but most of us guys went to the Lagoon Hawker to eat.. so ya.. ate quite a number of unhealthy food.. It includes fried hokkien mee, satay, chinese rojak, oyster egg and chicken wings.. Sinful huh! Ha..
But wats good is not the food.. instead, its the fellowship between us guys.. ha.. All of us are jokers lah.. so its easy to click with each other loh! =)
Now, as I'm typing this, my arms start to ache.. oh man.. I wonder how I'm going to last tml and into the weekend..
Oh no.. tml eat again.. wahaha.. Post CCG 2008 dinner.. wahaha.. watever! eat and grow fat loh!!
But I can't help to emphasise again, Cable Ski is SSSHHIIOOKKK!! I wanna go do it again!! =)

Ugly Singaporeans..
Ok.. this post is long overdued.. I have seen enough ELDERLY Singaporeans who has simply no sense of courtesy!
So what if they are elder in age? Does that mean that we have to give in to them everytime?
Yes.. Majority of the elder folks in Singapore are fine.. They are nice people, and if I see them really in need (e.g. in MRT trains or buses which is very crowded), I would give in to them (e.g. giving up my seat). Usually, it would end up with a word of thanks (be in Mandarin or English).. but at least it would brighten up my public transport experience or my day. I feel that I have done something right..
Just this morning, as I was at HarbourFront MRT NEL station, as usual, the peak hour is like super overwhelming with people.. I joined in the queue to tap my EZ-Link card to get out of the MRT gantry.. then, the bad thing happen.. I was simply disgusted by it..
This old lady (I think she is in her 60s) was actually only in front of me, and in front of her, was an Indian guy (looks like an odd-job labourer). And I thought she would just follow the queue.. never did I expect that after she has queued for a while, she conveniently make a slight diversion out, and immediately just position herself in front of the Indian odd-job labourer! She tap her card and she continue walking..
Yes.. though this is like a minor thing, and of course, I didn't wait for long before its my turn to tap my EZ-Link card and go.. but look.. this is Singapore.. and ain't we supposed to be a graceful society, and ain't old folks are ethically not supposed to "take advantage" of their age?
I agree that Singaporeans has been taught since young, to give way to needy ppl (e.g. pregnant women or elderly folks), but look.. elderly folks these days use their age in their advantage, in order to get something better out of it! I'm sure you readers know what I'm talking about..
Arghh.. Super angry lah!! I've made a point to blog this out, becos it was unbearable liaox.. I've got enuf of the nonsense..
But then again, I can't control it, so what's the point of getting angry and hoping that something would be done?
It all boils down to individuals (i.e., elderly folks) of how they are determined to change themselves for the better!
Yes.. no doubt that we youngsters also had shortfalls.. but ain't elderly ppl supposed to show a better example, rather than portraying themselves as an ugly Singaporean?
I would think the courtesy campaign should start again.. but MORE focus to be on educating social etiquette to the ELDERLY folks!
Ok.. ranted enough.. back to work!
Are elderly ppl starting to be a bad society example or someone that we want to love?,

My sinful but yummy dinner!!
Well peepz.. for the record, I actually did jog today at my neighbourhood, though I've slept like 0100 hrs this morning (becos of the event that happened last nite).. so ya..
** Photo on right: The black vinegar pig trotters store @ the newly renovated Chinatown market!
Had a so-called "marathon" at church today.. Been there since 1300 hrs all the way till 1800 hrs.. my goodness.. a whole 5 hrs! Super shack lah.. so ya..
But fortunately, dinner was good.. of course, it was all under my plotting.. wahaha.. I was supposed to go shop for ankle socks from adidas and some other stuff.. but my mum was tired, so she didnt want to come out of the house.. so I suggested to buy dinner from the new Chinatown market, since she had not have food from the newly renovated Chinatown market before.. and man oh man.. the photo you see on the right, is EXACTLY the same black vinegar pig trotters that I had mentioned on my 18 July (Fri) blogpost.. I of course had a craving for the black vinegar pig trotters and decide that since we are buying dinner, I should buy some home to share with my mum, since she is also quite a fan of pig trotters as well.. Both my mum and I have a high tolerance for sour stuff, so this pig trotters as I said on my earlier blogpost on 18 July (Fri) really did meet our expectation.. It is not too sweet but yet sour enuf..
It is sour till the pt that my boss who tried it (after I recommend it to her), actually blames me for asking her to try, becos she said that it is so so sour.. well.. I told her before that it is sour, but I think she has forgotten it.. so ya..
Oh man.. I'm craving for it again.. I can just drink the gravy.. the pig trotters I have or dun have also never mind one.. wahaha.. Better stop, after you all say I pregnant or sumthing.. ha.. but what I can say is that close friends would koe my tolerance for SOURNESS is VERY HIGH.. but NOT for sweet or salty.. so ya.. this is me.. the more sour is the food, the better it is.. tat is why some ppl dun like Thailand's Tom Yum becos they say too sour.. but I like it just like tat.. so ya.. but oh well.. this is me! =)
Tjow & Ryan, one day I bring you to this store! You will never see the black vinegar pig trotters the same again after you have taste this store! The gravy is superb!! This is my 2nd time eating it! I just had it last week... so you say whether good or not loh =P
So as you can see, besides the pig trotters, also bought quite a lot of food from the Chinatown Market hawker! It was good and worth it.. I actually didnt koe wat to eat, but I see ppl queue, so I join in the queue, and I am glad to say that it didnt disappoint.. the food indeed was very good.. The Hokkien Mee from Yishun 951 is another example (didnt take the signboard though!).. the hokkien mee is near to perfection.. it taste almost exactly like the Chomp Chomp ex-cook's hokkien mee.. oh man.. One day, if you all interested, you can call me go down to Chinatown Market and eat again, I don't mind lah! They have like got tons of nice food there loh! =) This is what I called cheap and good..
So let me tell you what was the spread tonite..
(a) Chwey Kueh
(b) Black vinegar pig trotters
(c) Fried Hokkien Mee
(d) Yam Cake
(e) Chee Chung Fun
(f) Soon Kueh
Dessert was a slice of Galacier's durian cake (from my house here cake shop.. not bad I must say!) and a Galacier plain donut! =)
So ya.. so you see.. I've put on the calories I've lost this morning, but being a foodie I am, how could I resist? Ha.. but anyway, all these food were shared.. so calories were also shared! =)
Ok.. I can't contain my hunger anymore.. typing more would make me want to crave more for the pig trotters.. oh man...
Black vinegar pig trotters, I love you! Mama-mia!,

Went to Timbre @ Arts House after dinner (which is where the photo above is taken!).. Didn't know that EIC was there as well.. (For those of who dun koe, EIC is a really good band.. Their guitar skills are good! They are even featured on radio; Class 95, Cartunes, 7pm - 8pm, Mondays & Fridays! =)
Drank 2 drinks yesterday @ Timbre.. had a Caipirinha ($13++) & Long Island Tea ($15++).. Yizhou and Kokwei had a Erdinger white pint each ($14++) but before that, they had Sex On The Beach ($15++) each as well, but becos for my second drink, I don't quite like beer and price almost the same, I rather pay a little more to get a long island tea rite.. ha.. But the long island tea not potent enuf.. The one at DXO then is called potent! so ya..
After I finished my 2 drinks, felt only a short "high", and then its gone after that.. so ya.. so as usual, gulp down at least 750 ml of plain water when came home, so as to aviod having a hangover..
So ya.. had a great nite indeed! Then came home by NEL last second train for the day.. =).. so ya.. Thank God for that, or else I have to spend more liaox.. so ya..
Talks and plans are in the works for a group of us to go to Bangkok in October 2008 for shopping.. so ya.. =).. so as usual, I'm the organiser.. so ya.. haix.. but for trip, ok lah.. ha.. will see how it goes lah!
Ok.. gtg and do my other stuff liaox.. can't seem to load photos into Facebook.. sianx.. =(
I enjoyed myself thoroughly yesterday,

Stressed..
Well peepz.. Stressed over my work in office lah.. not just any other work, but its my KRA (Key Result Area) paperwork submission.. Apparently, my boss wants to see the draft tml, and I'm only HALF-DONE!! My boss wants to discuss with me next Tuesday, and asked me to send her the draft tml, but I mistaken (my colleague just told me on MSN, and I tot she bluff, but its true lah!).. I thought she doesn't want to see the KRA draft, and straight to the actual discussion next Tuesday..
Cham lioax loh.. If I don't do this KRA thing properly, I wld not be able to get my fair share of bonus and all.. haix.. so this document very important lah.. so doing it, gives me a great headache.. in fact, I've only like finished half today and felt that its quite acceptable, but to continue the other half and finish by tml, would be a bit of a problem.. so ya.. haix..
Shall see how tml lah.. Stressed.. super stressed!!
KRA, KRA, why you like that?,

The durian feast!!
Its a Sunday.. and yes.. I'm blogging my last day of the weekend.. haix.. =(.. but I had a very nice day today.. read along =)
** Photo on left: Tjow's son, Ezekiel! So cute rite =)
Morning woke up, supposed to jog.. but weather in the end very cooling.. so though I slept like 0100 hrs this morning, I woke up at 0645 hrs, thinking that I should jog becos getting fatter and also its my weekly jog.. However, I slept in and think that I should give myself another 5 mins of sleep.. but it turned out to be like 1 hour! So by the time I see the clock, it was 0740 hrs.. so my policy is once the clock hits 0700 hrs, I won't run anymore becos it would be too hot and I didn't want to have heatstroke.. Then I tot I just sleep in for another 15 mins, but then it turned out again to be another hour.. and hence, I actually woke up like at 0840 hrs.. ha.. then can't sleep liaox.. =)
Then wake up, do some of my church stuff, and then bathe and off I went to Tjow's house, for her daughter's birthday party.. so there I left.. and was at Tjow's house having a late lunch.. The spread of food was simple but yet nice..
Tjow made lasagne (it was good!), and he made 2 trays.. one of which was crispy but burnt.. so I named that lasagne, the "CARCINOGENIC LASAGNE"!! And Tjow himself ate 3 pcs of it somemore.. my goodness.. (btw, Tjow wanted me to say this part abt his lasagne.. I didn't want to embarass him.. but oh well.. =P)
** Photo on right: The durian feast I had with Christina! The picture explains it all! =)
After the usual kid's birthday cake-cutting "ceremony" (hahax..), Christina and I proceed to GV Plaza to watch "The Dark Knight", which we were very glad we pre-booked the tickets (as the cinema was totally packed!), and hence, we got good seats! =)
The show I must say is if you are really interested in seeing Heath Ledger acting his last role as "The Joker", you should go and watch.. its worth EVERY single cent.. however, if you are NOT a Batman fan or want to desparately see how Heath Ledger act his role, then don't bother to watch, becos the story plot is simple and the action parts of the movie is only the front and end.. the middle is lots of talking.. I almost fell asleep at some parts of the movie (particularly in the middle part!).. so ya.. tats my verdict lah.. =)
After the show, went to Bugis street to have durian (which was our dinner-cum-supper).. and it was good!
It was the "Mountain King" kind (in Chinese, they call it, 猫山王).. its usually sold at about $15-$18 per kilogram, but due to bumper harvest, they are selling it at $10 per kilogram.. so ya.. If you like those durian flesh solid yellow one, and then those bitter-sweet kind, go for this.. Its very good! =)
I even ta-pow 2 durians home for my family.. but it doesn't come cheap.. $41 ok!! so ya.. but for my family, ok lah.. =) just hope they were just as bitter! =)
Ok lah.. gtg and sleep liaox.. long day tml.. betcha tml I confirm have Monday blues one.. haix..
Durian, durian, I love you,

My last GSS indulgence..
Peepz! Be merry! The weekend is here.. Wheee... treasure it before its gone, for wkends come and go very easily..
** Photo on right: My Quiksilver spectacles ($250).
Anyway, it feels so good to buy something which I like.. and I did just that today! =).. well.. I got myself a Quiksilver spectacles which I have been eyeing very long.. and my "long" was actually about a month back only.. wahaha..
But since my current company is giving each staff some money for flexible benefits on an annual basis, and therefore, since I'm a confirmed staff already, I'm entitled to it (of course there is certain criteria of what can be claimed and what can't).. so ya.. so since company give money, why not use the chance of this money given to do something which can be claimed and beneficial?
So I spent about 45 mins at my optimetrist and finally got my specs (photo on right).. cool rite? =) The green is super nice lah..
This spec is quite unique in a sense that when you see me from the front, the spec appear black, but under light, you can see that it is actually bronze.. then if you view from another angle, you can see that it is green at some parts.. you have to see it for yourself to know it.. =)
The reason why I chose this spec is becos of the lime green colour.. =).. I have such a bright personality, so must have such an outstanding spec mah! haha.. I know.. I no shame =P
Well.. chances of me wearing this specs on a frequent basis is very slim, becos I wld only wear this spec on really nice and important occasions.. so ya.. so if you see me wear this spec, you know that your occasion is impt.. haha. =P
My lenses were also special, in a way that it is finger-print resistant and also the lens are considered the 2nd thinnest in the market, hence the hefty price.. so ya.. but my optimetrist (who is the operation manager of the store) actually assured me that the price she gave me was way better than the current 20% discount storewide and also additional credit card discount..
Christina (my church friend) was my fashion consultant yesterday.. ha.. she was telling me the spec which I bought was nicer than the previous one which I saw and thought it was nice.. haha.. so ya.. =)
Then came home from Suntec, and actually I saw Bing Xun (my primary school best friend) just walk past me, but then didnt confirm that it was him until he stopped at the stop which I tot he would stop, and I wld think it is true loh.. haix.. missed the chance to say hello.. =(
So now blogging abt this.. a little while, I need to sleep liaox.. and oh ya.. my mum bought durians.. yummy.. gonna have it for breakfast tml.. =)
I love my spectacles,

The "Idol" Experience..
Well ppl.. its the weekend!! Sorry for not blogging for so long.. I must have deprieved you readers of your daily reads rite.. ya.. I koe.. my blog is like a drug to you all =P
** Photo on left: The "Idol" contestants.
Anyway, as you all have known (or already known), I actually joined my company's singing competition, which they call it "The Idol Competition".. so actually for me from the time where I started to sign up for the contest (of course with pressure from boss) until the time where its the day for me to perform (being very serious about it becos I DUN believe in slipshot work!), I've actually day in day out at least hear the song at least 2 times a day! =)
The purpose of this is to like get myself really "soak" into the song, and in the event that I get nervous on stage on the actual day, I wld sing it so subconsciously that I don't even need to have the stress of remembering the lyrics of the song! I just enjoy myself on stage and show my showmanship.. so ya..
Anyway, the day did came and it was yesterday! I tell you.. I was surprisingly very calm the day of the event.. so tats good..
Went back to lab in the morning and do some of my stuff, only to know that my email system at lab had some problem, and then I called my IT staff in Main Office.. and they say they can't do anything, unless I go back to Main Office to solve it.. so there I went back to Main Office and it costs a whopping $17.60 (usual cab fare is only $13 max!, but $17.60 yesterday is becos' its like ERP, morning peak hour surcharge, the fuel surcharge etc..)
Anyway, after my email system has been solved (Thank God, or else all my urgent emails which I needed to attend to wld all be gone), rushed back to lab to settle some stuffs..
** Photo on right: Me singing on stage! Cool huh? I look so much like a Superstar rite =P
Left office for Lunar Bar for the rehearsal and all.. and man.. the stage was quite professional.. then though its only a crowd the most 12 ppl (for the rehearsal that is..), I was actually quite nervous and my legs and voice were shivering like mad lah.. The place was also so so cold..
There is a buffet dinner, but didnt dare to eat a lot and the chilli stuff, fearing that it would affect my singing quality!
The show started and as it progresses, my throat gets dryer, hands get colder by the minute.. so I kept drinking hot tea, warm water, etc..
Moreover the judges for the nite was quite high profile.. one of them was a music instructor who teaches ppl how to sing on Project Superstar, another is a Project Superstar runner-up (Kevin Soon), and another is Project Superstar 2 female winner (Chen Diya).. so you see.. with such a good set of judges, the scoring system is really competitative rite.. =)
Then its my turn to sing.. and low and behold, they've played the wrong song.. I actually saw before the show started that it was already like wrong.. but I thought they had some special arrangement, so I didnt bother to do it at all.. but then when the show started, it came the wrong song.. I verbally told them it was the wrong song.. then the MC for the day said to the crowd to give me more cheers.. ha.. and I must say the cheers did really help to calm down my nerves a bit.. I also talked on stage whilst they were settling the technical aspect part.. and feedback has been given to me that I was very natural and machiam talk like I was a superstar.. hahax.. Well.. I cannot just sit there and do nothing rite.. it wld look a bit bad and boring..
Then the song started and then I sang and gave it all.. I actually said a little prayer (before I go on stage that is!) that God will actually calmed me down, and I was really calmed about it.. I can feel my legs shaking very badly (due to stagefright), but my voice surprisingly didnt quiver a single bit.. except that I forgot the first 3-4 words in the beginning.. so ya..
Once I got "into the song", I gave it all, and didn't care already.. I was super relaxed on stage and emote as much as I can.. and ppl have been giving me feedback that I was a really passionate singer.. oh well.. this kind of songs really need feelings to sing.. so ya..
And as usual, I've managed to like at least hit all the high notes, except some parts which I koe that I've gone out of tune.. but oh well.. I've garnered a lot of screams and whistles during the performance, and I really mean a LOT..
** Photo on left: Me & my brother, Warren @ the Idol event!
After the performance, I've heaped a sigh of relief, and went over to the corner where my colleagues (including my boss) are, and then, they were saying my showmanship was extremely good and they did enjoyed my singing tremendously.. They were also shocked to see how natural I am on stage and when I told them that I was nervous, they didn't believe..
One more thing, but dun koe whether this is good or bad.. my boss actually told me that a lot of middle-age women actually came to ask her what is my name and oh man.. I think I'm attracting a lot of aunties.. I think I wld have a nickname of "aunty-killer" soon in my company.. wahaha..
I've also gained feedback from one of my colleagues who is in QA lab, and he said that this QA clerk is usually very quiet, but apparently the clerk yesterday didnt keep quiet yesterday, and she was shouting and cheering for me at the top of her voice.. and he said it was shocking, becos' he has never seen this clerk so "outspoken" before! ha.. so it was really an experience lah..
** Photo on right : Receiving my consolation prize from my Chief Financial Officer & Executive CEO.
I actually then after went round to say hello and "hang around" my colleagues, and then saw Warren.. chatted with him quite a while, and then colleagues (whom I know of course) from other department (Corporate Planning, IT, Finance, Legal, etc) came to say "hello" and all.. and then the part came where there are like a couple of IT ppl (whom I know) actually asked me to "tah" drinks, and out of courtesy, I actually did it.. but never did I know, its one cup and another.. so in the end, plus my own drinks (becos its freeflow, so why waste it when I have such a privilege), I actually drank 6-7 glasses of vodka lime and 1 glass of vodka orange.. =(
I was certainly "high" but not drunk.. My head was spinning quite badly after I've stopped drinking my 7th or 8th glass.. but I'm sober.. one of the IT ppl I know, I think he was drunk.. he talked "funny" and did some weird actions.. so ya..
This drunk IT guy actually told me I was the champion of the competition, and I told him off, saying "dun bluff".. but inside of me, I was actually hoping that I was the one since I had so many cheers.. wahaha.. =P
But it didnt happen.. so ya.. won the consolation prize.. was a bit sad at first.. but oh well.. its just for fun.. and man.. the experience was tremendous, and I told myself, I would join again next year if time permits! =) I really enjoyed it a lot.. and singing my hearts out to such a good crowd, its certainly make my night more meaningful! =)..
Not too sure whether I enjoyed being in the limelight, or actually the experience which really made me enjoyed it so much.. and I think all really played a role.. be it the cheers from my fellow colleagues and also the atmosphere.. it really made my day lah!
Then got a lift from one of my colleague.. and in the car, my head was literally spinning.. walking home from the place where I alight from the car, it became worst.. I think I walked straight but my head was spinning.. it span until the pt where I slept on my bed and my head was also spinning.. man.. it was torturing.. I woke up at 0125 hrs to the toilet and then I cldn't sleep like until 0300 hrs..
Waking up this morning at 0630 hrs to go to main office for meeting.. so ya.. still felt a bit of giddiness at times (but thank God I didnt have a hangover!).. in the meeting, still feel a bit giddy but still manageable.. ha..
Went with my boss and some other colleagues (from main office but in same dept) for lunch at the new Chinatown Market.. ate the vinegar pig trotters.. and it was so so good! Its actually a stall featured in the "Buzzing Cashier" (aka. Qiang Tan Da Xing Dong).. it is so good.. the stall name is "Tang Ji".. very good lah.. I think last time is at Geylang Lorong 23.. so ya.. not too sure about that.. but oh well.. its good.. you should try it.. =)
Then just before I left main office (didnt go back to lab today becos I had too many things to do in office), I draft up a "Thank You" email to send to all my department colleagues who came down for the event last nite.. Must appreciate them mah.. I feel its only right for me to do so.. =)
After which, walked to church for cell meeting loh.. and the walk was so enjoyable.. becos its very cooling and all.. moreover, it only took me the most 25 mins to walk from my Office @ China Square Central to church.. so ya..
Reach home and then bathe.. and now blog loh..
Ok lah.. becos I had so little sleep last nite, I need to sleep liaox.. very tired.. tml is Saturday.. weee.. the weekend is here again.. and its so fast! =)
My "Idol" journey a success,

The long-awaited buddies dinner =)
Today at work is my start to the induction programe.. Some of the sessions were quite interesting, whilst some is very boring.. I think it really depends on who is the presenter.. saying of which, one of the presenter for a session was allocated 1 hour, but finished it within 5 mins.. so ya.. so we ended early..
At about 1740 hrs, I left main office (which explains why I wore formal today) and went to Fish & Co @ Glass House to meet Sidney for dinner loh!
** Photo on left: Sidney & myself @ TCC, The Atrium
Well.. its been about almost 2 years, and we have not met after we have ORD.. and after much preparation, the day was finally here.. so ya..
This buddy of mine, Sidney, has been one friend who never fails to make my day with his lame jokes and sometimes, his constant suaning of me could be "enjoyable".. ha.. I koe I'm such a sadist huh =)
This buddy of mine has become so indispensable, that I actually treasured our friendship even more, since we have less contact with one another after we were out of NS. Sidney will ALWAYS be my one pal of mine whom I will want to have constant contact with, as well as being one of the must-have guest when I'm holding important occasions like my wedding dinner (wahaha.. machiam planning for my next part of life liaox!)
** Photo on right: The super-fragrant hair and body wash from Marks & Spencer. (UP: $13.90. Now: 6.95)
Though he is 2 yrs younger than me (but his birthday is just 2 days earlier than me!!), we both have some areas which were common, eg: being very image conscious! Sometimes, he will ask me this and that regarding his attire, and I gladly obliged him lah.. One of my best pal leh.. can refuse meh =)
You see the picture on the right? Ahh.. this is what he recommended me to buy, and I'm glad I did, becos its at 50% off, and the smell of the hair and body wash is simply fantastic! I think Sunday or sumthing, I would go buy probably one or two more.. its super cheap and very nice lah =)
Becos' he is one of my best pals, I treated him to dinner @ Fish & Co (Glass House) and dessert @ TCC (The Atrium)..
I've actually promised him 2 yrs ago (when I started working at my previous company) that I would give him a treat, and this treat is long overdue already lah..
He wanted to pay for his share of the dessert, but I refused, becos since I say its a treat, means a treat.. so ya.. I'm a man of my word =)
Then came home, sent Sidney the photos, and then, now blogging.. I'm super tired liaox.. Tml is another day of induction.. haix..
I've enjoyed the dinner & company... Thanks bro! (referring to you Sidney!),

The western food stall in the heartlands..
Well peepz.. didnt sleep so well yesterday nite.. Slept at 0300 hrs this morning and wake up on the same day, but at 0920 hrs.. felt so unsatisfied lah.. haix..
Moreover, I actually had abt 6 hrs sleep and wondered why I feel so tired.. I've asked Alvin (who by the way is one of the genius guys in church), and he said it could probably be due to the sudden change in my biological clock which cause this extreme tiredness.. which come to think of it, its true lah!
(See.. told you Alvin is a genius!..)
After service today, supposed to go to KTV, but I think Tjow is tired and also not many ppl going, so we cancelled the event and decide to go for dinner instead.. so in the end, we went to this place which Jaslyn (another church mate of mine) recommended.. and I tell you.. it was good lah! It is restaurant food (in fact, better than restaurants!) but at coffeeshop/heartland prices!
Take a look at the food that we've had and its prices and you wld koe the prices.. Its cheap and good! All of us who went today (Tjow, Claudia, Jaslyn, Greg, Me, Alvin, Carlise & Christina) were quite particular about food and we critic food like nobody's business.. and today, all comments that came out were good (EXCEPT the desserts! It could have been better..)..
According to what Jaslyn has told us, the owners of this western food stall is owned by 4 chefs who have quit from their previous jobs and decided to set up a stall of their own! And one of the owner happens to be Jaslyn's friend who has studied in the same bible school as her, when she went in for pastoral studies.. So ya..
Anyway, the food is good.. so drool at what you see below ya..
But before doing so, here is the address of the place:
Delight & Delicious
Block 26 Jalan Membina
#01-10
29 Food Centre
Singapore 161026
Tel/Fax: 6238 0382
** If you are wondering where is Jalan Membina, its actually somewhere in the Tiong Bahru area.. so ya.. =)
Okay.. now for the food photos and its prices [ NO service charge and GST!! What you see is what you pay! In other words, its a nett amount!! =) ]
Be hungry.. very hungry.. haha.. =P
(All photos were taken by my Sony Ericcson W890i phone!) =)
Soup Of The Day: Cream of Chicken ($2.80) This is definately NOT Campbell Soup! It is much better, but I feel that chicken taste could be better (but Tjow said becos' I had the chicken wings first, so tats why!). But nevertheless it is good lah! =) The Shitake mushrooms in the soup were fresh, nice and crunchy too!!
According to Jaslyn, she said the dish has NO MSG! So that makes it a plus point to drink it too! =)
Overall, I rate it 3.5 out of 5 stars! Well.. despite what Tjow said is becos of the chicken I've ate earlier and thus no taste, I don't really believe it, as I would think even if I eat the chicken wings and drink the soup, it should taste as good.. but this soup doesn't really have a strong chicken taste.. so that explains a slightly lower rating from me.. But nevertheless, its still good =)
Hot Wings (10 pcs) ($4.80) The picture above doesn't show a full 10 pc picture, becos by the time I've remembered to take the photos, ppl were already starting to eat it.. hahax..
The marinate for the chicken wings is puuurrrffeeccttt, but the coleslaw was even better =P..
The actual serving size is only 7 pcs per plate, but becos Jaslyn koes the boss there, I think he "jia liao".. hahax.. to make it 10 pcs, so each one 1 pc =)
Overall, I rate it 4.5 out of 5 stars! This is verrryyy good! The chicken is well-marinated with its spices and all.. One pc per person is definately NOT enough!
Caesar Salad ($4.80) This dish is again complimentary! =).. Not becos' we order a lot, but we are Jaslyn's friends, so we get to eat free stuff =)
Overall, I rate it 3 out of 5 stars! Its restaurant-style Caesar salad. Taste like a restaurant's too! My only complain is that if the dish is slightly colder, it would have taste better! =)
Paprika Chicken($6.50) This is my main course for the dinner.. It is actually char-grilled skinless chicken thighs. The chicken thighs were surprisingly tender (becos' usually unskilled people who do grilling, would actually make the meat too dry as well as also tough) and succulent! Its juices were all locked in the meat, so when you chew it, it immediately "burst" into your mouth! =).. It comes with fries and coleslaw.. If you notice carefully, some cheese has been melted on the chicken before serving, so that it gives an extra uummph to the chicken!
You don't see the serving like that so small! Its actually quite big/filling.. I almost cldn't finish up everything!
Overall, I rate it 4 out of 5 stars! =).. a must-try! But a suggestion.. maybe you can ask for a replacement of instead the fries, go for the mashed potatoes.. they are much better and less "filling" on the stomach! =)
Full-Moon Beef Cheese Burger Set Meal ($9.40) If you are a beef lover, then you should try this burger! According to Tjow (who has this for his main course), it is very juicy and 1 beef patty for him is not enuf.. he needs two!.. so viola!..
For a set meal, you just have to add an additional $1.50, which actually consists of any 2 of the 3 sides which they offer (fries, coleslaw, mashed potatoes). If you are not game to make it a set meal (becos you are a small eater, then the burger (WITHOUT any sides) would just cost you a mere $7.90). =)
As mentioned above, the mashed potatoes were good.. its not exactly what you have at KFC, where you can taste and confirm that they use some premix powder to do up their mashed potatoes.. However, in the mashed potatoes that this stall offers, you can seriously taste the buttery taste, and still eat some small chunks of potatoes in it.. Add a little more black pepper to taste on the mashed potatoes, and it would be perfect! =)
Overall, I rate this full-moon burger 3.5 out of 5 stars (I only had 1 small portion and felt that it was quite dry.. but didnt eat everything, so I don't know how is it like to eat the whole thing!! So can't really give my take on this!)
Seafood Blanco Pasta ($8.90) Jaslyn had this for her main course, and of course, I did try it.. It was very good.. not only in terms of the ingredients which was surprisingly generous (for such a low price), but more of its "essence" of the dish or commonly known as gravy.. You can really taste the sweetness of the seafood, all "locked" up in the gravy! If my tongue didn't fail me, I think they've added some white wine inside as well, which gives it the extra kick! =) The flavour is indescribable! You have to taste it to know it! =)
Overall, I rate this pasta 4.5 out of 5 stars! If you like pasta, this is the one you should eat! =)
Half-Moon Beef Cheese Burger Set Meal ($7.00) If you are not game for the full-moon beef cheese burger set, you can go for the half-moon (everything is the same, except that it is only 1 beef patty instead of 2 pcs!).. For a set meal, you just have to add an additional $1.50, which actually consists of any 2 of the 3 sides which they offer (fries, coleslaw, mashed potatoes). If you are not game to make it a set meal (becos you are a small eater, then the burger (WITHOUT any sides) would just cost you a mere $5.50). =)
English Ol' Style Fish & Chips ($6.50) The tartar sauce is self-made, and its very good I must say! Some lemon juice on the tartar sauce would then make it even better! The fish is thinly breaded and the fish is very succulent as well.. Its soft and has no fishy taste! Serving is also generous. =)
Overall, I rate it 4 out of 5 stars!
Tiramisu ($5.20) Ah.. shall not comment more about this.. Just have to say that this didnt reach my standard! The sponge fingers and mascaporne cheese just didnt taste right and raw cocoa powder is supposed to be used, but they have used something like chocolate shavings.. But a commendable thing about this is that the coffee liquor used here is of the right amount and right one.. Other than that, can't commend much.
Overall, I rate this tiramisu 3 out of 5 stars!
Brownie with ice-cream ($4.50) This brownie taste slightly salty.. don't really have a full-chocolate flavour.. The ice-cream taste weird.. Not too sure whether this brownie is the one that they make themselves or some premix.. But it sure doesn't really live up to my expectation.. Let's just say that there are better ones (eg: My Secret Garden & TCC).. My taste very atas one! =P
Overall, I rate it 2 out of 5 stars! The only plus point about this is that its not so sweet.. that's all I can say about this dessert!
** Picture on left: Alvin with his plate really EMPTY! He had the half-moon cheese burger set meal! It was sooo good that he had finished EVERYTHING on his plate! Now you judge it whether good or not loh! =)
Well.. I've gave my take on the must-try dishes from the above-mentioned stall.. hope you can try it out sometime, and see whether you agree on my commentary of the food mentioned above! =)..
But overall I can say, this is restaurant-standard food at affordable prices.. This is what I call a good western food stall in the heartlands.. Don't you agree? =)

Still awake..
Peepz..take a look at my blogpost time! I'm still awake at this time.. Yes.. you didnt see wrongly!! The only reason why I'm still awake, is all thanks to the Dark Mocha Frappucino from Starbucks which I had earlier in the evening, or shld I say late last nite.. haha.. watever that makes you happy lah =P
If I don't talk sense, you wld koe why.. I have made my biological clock suddenly turned bonkers all of a sudden! hahax.. ok.. wat happened of why I'm still awake at this time is as follows..
After cell group today, a group of us (Tjow, myself, Mok, Jeremy, Xinyi & Xiuhua) have decided to go to Starbucks @ One Fullerton to just chill out and have some chat session, since Xinyi is going back to Aussie later in the evening anyway!
Reached the Starbucks outlet at about 2215 hrs and we chatted till 2345 hrs.. of course, I ordered the Dark Mocha Frappucino, which is like supposed to be good, but then its not dark enuf.. unlike I had the first time.. so ya.. haix.. I so wanted to complain, but then oh well..
After the coffee, Tjow was so sweet to send us ALL home.. so practically, I travelled from one end of the island to another, becos I was the last person that Tjow alighted before he head to his in-laws place to stay for the nite..
So by the time we reached Xinyi's hse, it was already 0130 hrs in the morning.. so Tjow being him, said both of us (referring to himself as well as me), should pay a visit to Xinyi's house since both of us never been in the house before.. so ya.. and we did.. and we stayed there like till 0200 hrs!
Then reached home like abt 0210 hrs, then bathe and read some newspapers and now blogging to allow my hair to dry before I sleep, and guess wat! The time is now already 0240 hrs and its still ticking!!
Oh man.. I'm now feeling so so tired.. and I really mean tired.. guess the caffeine has worn out liaox..
Ok.. hope I can sleep like for abt 8-9 hrs, then it would be perfect, but I wonder wat time will I wake up later.. hmmm.. Doubt I would fulfill the 8-9 hrs part..
Dreamland, here I come..,

Busy week..
Sorry peepz for not updating.. really busy both at work and at home.. Its usually the busy-ness at work, which ultimately wears me down and just want to surf lightly on the net before I turn in for the nite.. I'm just plain lazy lah, becos I dun want to use brain mah =P
Anyway, the week so far is still manageable, except that these few days, I'm getting a bit more busy than usual.. Quite a no. of samples to do at my workplace, which actually it takes the toll out of me.. believe it or not, just 1 sample can take the whole 8 hours! The trial itself can easily take up about 3-4 hrs, and the machine which I setup also take some time.. moreover, its trial and error of the machines, in a sense that I have to adjust the machines until I reached my desired specification.. so ya.. all these need time what!
Just 2 days back, I had a heart-to-heart, one-to-one chat with Tjow over MSN.. it was a fruitful chat I must say.. thanks bro! =)
And this month, July, I tell you.. I'm FULLY booked! Almost everyday I have activites! Take for example nxt week.. Look at my packed schedule:
Mon (14/7) - Dinner with Sidney (my NS brother) @ Fish & Co, Wheelock Place
Tue (15/7) - Dinner with Marcus (my Crusade buddy)
Wed (16/7) - Badminton session @ Kreta Ayer CC
Thu (17/7) - Company's singing competition @ Lunar Fusion Bar
Fri (18/7) - Cell Group @ SAC
Sat (19/7) - Church
Sun (20/7) - Eleanor's (Tjow's daughter) birthday celebration
So you see... everyday I got activity.. confirm spend more money one! This mth budget is totally way off! This mth, my spending would be like water loh.. haix..
Then on 26/7 (Sat), gonna spend the nite away with my NS unit bunk mates.. its been a while since we've gathered, and its one of our buddies birthday.. wahaha.. so he is gonna so tio from us on that nite! *evil grin*..
Ok lah.. gtg and do a little more surfing before I turn in for the nite.. Need to rest well this week to survive the next.. nxt week shiong ah..
Looks like I need a PDA phone,

Things like these make my day!
Yes peepz.. Today is Monday and I'm supposed to feel the Monday blues, but with the following words on some food wrappers, it doesn't anymore! Hahax..
What you see are real stuff taken from my office pantry.. Apparently, one of my colleagues came back from a Shanghai business trip, and bought something back for all of us.. And we've decided to read the ingredients of the foodstuff, and low and behold, it was really a laughing session for all of us!
You all have to take a look at the following photos to know what we are laughing! It's really a direct translation from Mandarin to English.. and I really mean direct! See it for yourself and see whether I bluff you or not =P
Hope you all have had a good laugh, and it did make up your day? =)
Cheerios,

You all have to take a look at the following photos to know what we are laughing! It's really a direct translation from Mandarin to English.. and I really mean direct! See it for yourself and see whether I bluff you or not =P
Hope you all have had a good laugh, and it did make up your day? =)

A tired Sunday but a fruitful one..
Today was really a loonnngg day.. My day started with a youth leaders' meeting bright and early in the morning, and then after that, some training in church.. A total 9 hrs of activity! Fwah! Try to beat that man!
Anyway, after the training in church, went with Tjow to Vivocity to have dinner and some window shopping.. We did have some good time of fellowship (since he is my mentor..), and we went to Shin Kuriya to have dinner.. Food was good, but the service was better! Tjow and myself are food and service freaks.. both of us are of the same wavelength yesterday (for eg: we both tot of the same food that we've ordered during dinner, and also, agreeing that its service was good!).. So ya.. Food prices there are also quite reasonable.. and with great food, service and fellowship of the mentor and the mantis (haha.. Tjow shld koe this joke =P), what more can we ask man! Its pure enjoyment! =)
Really want to thank this great mentor of mine, Tjow! =).. Thanks for being there for me whenever I needed a listening ear.. Thanks also for the past blessings that you've blessed me with! Its really a blessing for me to have you as my mentor!
Ha.. am so elated today.. dun koe why.. must be the food and company that I had just now.. hahax..
Oh.. regarding abt my blogpost yesterday whether I cried myself to sleep over the issue, I actually did, but it was not as bad as the StanChart Marathon thingy.. StanChart Marathon was worst!!.. so ya.. but I feel that I should cry it out in order to feel better, and it did actually.. hahax.. so that nite when I sleep, I put on some soothing and sad music on my CD player, and had a good cry.. hahax.. I koe.. I'm a crybaby, but this is the best and probably the only solution for me to like to revert back to my happy self again! Ha.. Or else today, I would be my moody self again!
Ok lah.. gtg and turn in for the nite.. a bit the late liaox.. tml is Monday again, and I've got to go back to work.. not that I'm complaining, but the weekend is like zooming so fast.. extremely fast! haix..

We have done our best..
... BUT we still lost in the badminton CCG ! Haix.. =(
Well.. I'm not complaining that we've lost in the game.. in fact, its a good exposure whether we win or lose!!
But for particularly myself, I'm feeling very disappointed in myself.. not exactly for the reason that we've lost but for some personal reasons, which I'm definately not obliged to say in this blog of mine..
This matter in fact has brought me great disappointment in myself, and cause me to be downcast the whole day (from the time it happened, and until now, as I'm typing this blogpost!) till the point that I actually wanted to GIVE UP the game of badminton altogether as well as also skip dinner, becos I simply had no appetite! It has really cause me great pain..
Only one person knows exactly what is happening becos this person was actually observant enough to notice my reaction today (I became suddenly a change person from usually a bubbly self to a very "sianx" person).. Of course, I did confide in this person and eventually felt better.. but then, as I'm typing this, I'm still at the verge of tearing..
I wanna say a big THANK YOU to this person (you koe who you are!).. =).. Thanks for being there whenever I need a listening ear! You are indeed a blessing to me!!
Ok.. all I can say is here.. whether I would cry myself to sleep later would be for another blogpost.. All I need now is really some rest.. I'm extremely tired, not only from this morning's CCG session, but also the past 2 days.. I have been working from 0830 hrs till almost 1900 hrs in office, becos I'm rushing for some paperwork to be done and its deadline is this Monday (7/7).
Other than this, nothing to update liaox..
(Sorry for being so sian on this blog.. been feeling very down today..)
Not in the best mood now,

What a nite!
Hey peepz..
Just came back not long ago from my practice session for my company's singing competition.. Have decided that I would sing the song "翅膀" by 林俊杰. Its not an easy song to sing (although I chose it and its my favourite singer singing it!).. Have managed to find the right key for me to sing in.. Of course with the help of my other colleagues, who are also joining the competition..
I think I sang the soing like for about 4 times in total, and I think they are sick of listening to it already, but I didnt care! Ha.. no one want to sing, I sing loh.. ha.. I sing until I've found the right key! So ya.. So whether I would get the top 3 prizes doesn't matter lah.. Even if I don't get the top 3 prizes, I would still get consolation lah! =).. so not so bad!
Then today, one of my colleagues sang "背叛" by 曹格, and his voice sounds like the original singer (ie, 曹格). I'm not kidding! For a moment, I thought he was singing with the original music behind! He is that good.. I think he would win first prize liaox! =)
Oh.. my new boss is also taking part in the competition, and man.. her voice is so so good.. I think she is like going to be in the top 3 as well? =)
When I went to the KTV, the organiser actually requested us to take a solo photo there and then, becos she wants to do a poster of each of us! My goodness!! Machiam really like superstar leh! Hahax..
Ok.. so much of our singing.. now abt the KTV place.. Well, all I can say is that this KTV I went to sing tonight, if I have the choice, I would not want to go back there for personal karaoke sessions again.. The service is quite bad, and the room is really small.. so ya.. enough said. Period.
Okay.. gtg and sleep now..
Super tired and I'm almost hoarse liaox!
