The Ghui Family Reunion!

My immediate family at the wedding.
We are all dressed up for the occasion! =)

Yesterday marks the wedding of my cousin, Sue Lynn (if you all dun koe, she is the lady in the picture which is also the bride of the wedding lah!)..
This is one of the best photos tat I took yesterday, becos one thing is tat she is so pretty, and another, its been a very LONG while since I saw her! She said she didnt see me for 10 years, which I obviously dun think so, or maybe it is? I dun koe.. Dun wish to koe and dun wish to think, becos the more I think of it, the more stressed I become, becos it make me sound so old! Hahahx.. =P
Anyway, the wedding was held at Burkill Hall, Singapore Botanic Gardens. Its quite a nice feeling actually (with all the love in the air and stuff..), and its been a while since I've attended weddings.. =)

The place was so beautiful and its like one of my dream places to get wed there! It really looks like those wedding moments in Hollywood movies and stuff! Dun you think so?
Anyway, the photo you see here on the left, is actually a view of the ceremonial garden from the top of the balcony! So nice rite? It looks so cosy and all! =)
Because of yesterday's wedding, I'm really inspired to get married.. haha.. When the time comes lah har...

My family was like the first one to be there like at 1700, when the whole event actually only starts at 1800.. but this is good also lah, becos I get to take some exclusive photos before nightfall =).. So ya..

Soon at abt 1745, my extended family members (my dad brothers' families) came and then we had a short time of phototaking and stuff! =) Then I proceeded downstairs for the cocktails.. And man.. I drank a LOT of alcohol yesterday (during the cocktail session + dinner).. here is the breakdown:

- 2 glasses of WHITE WINE (1 during the cocktail session, and another is after dinner)
- 1 glass of RED WINE (during the cocktail session)
- 1 glass of VODKA with sprite (during the cocktail session)

Now you koe how much an alcoholic I am huh! =).. Well.. its only occasions then I drink lah.. if there is wine, wat for I drink beer? Beer is for low-class people.. =P.. But after trying almost all the alcohol they have there, I still like the white wine! Its much more fruity in taste! =).. But the red wine is not so bad too; its not those really dry ones.. I wld think its a young wine or sumthing, so therefore, it is not really dry.. so ya.. Man.. I sound more like a wine taster or sumthing huh.. hahax..

Dinner was a buffet western spread, and of all the stuff tat was there, I like the "spaghetti with cream sauce" best! Its tat yummy lah, but 1 serving is enough to make you full; its tat rich! so ya.. Oysters were also served, but then its too big for my liking and I dun like the real "fishy" taste.. so ya.. The mango pudding is not bad, though its obviously some artificial stuff.. but overall, I would rate yesterday's dinner buffet spread as 8 out of 10 stars (btw, its Kriston Catering.. so ya..), and the ambience of the place 9 out of 10 stars! =)

Oh.. my immediate family and I did not have any tables to sit due to the lack of tables, so my mum asked, and the waiter brought us to another section of the building, where we dine in alfresco style, and wat's best is tat we didnt expect tat we actually had PERSONALISED service (juz for the 4 of us)!.. Tats great isn't it? =) and we start to see our extended family members passing by (when they take their food to their table) and told us tat its a great idea to have our own personal space! Soon, we saw after they are done with their meals, they brought their desserts into our "personal space" and at the same time, make use of the personalised service (provided by the waiters) to order coffee/tea, which I think the rest of the diners dun koe tat there are coffee/tea being served, becos I didnt see any coffee/tea cups on the tables.. so ya.. so of course, it was a blessing in disguise lah! =)

Besides the dinner, I also had a good time catching up with my other younger cousins, and then also spoke to one of my ORD-ed (on 29/09/06) cousin (who is the same age as me too!) .. so ya..
And I guess as much tat they asked abt my jobs (esp. my aunty who said so loud when she saw me, and almost everyone in my extended family turn around and look, and of course heard it lah.. I think if my aunty didnt say anything, this whole saga of me who found a permanent job already wld still remain a hush-hush affair!).. anyway, I repeated myself for abt 5 times (becos different ppl asking me mahx), telling them when I start work, my job company and my position.. so ya.. and so many ppl asked me when I R.O.D., and I told them 10 yrs later.. hahax.. its true wat! So I corrected them and told them tat its O.R.D. and NOT R.O.D.. so glad they koe lah! Ha..

Then the dinner ended with the groom singing the song, "Grow Old With You" by Adam Sandler (shown in the movie, "The Wedding Singer").. and I tell you.. its so romantic, sweet and touching, tat any longer, I wld tear lah.. hahax.. but I didnt of course!

The rest of my extended family went to my aunty's hse for some more coffee/tea and catching up, whilst my immmediate family went home, becos we were extremely tired.. dun koe why.. so ya..

So came home, bathe and now blog this post loh! Very sleepy liaox.. Gtg and sleep.. Tml is another day.. =)

The aftermath of the trip

Its been 2 days after the trip and I tell you its been a tiring day..

Yesterday I spend almost the whole day (from 1100-1800) doing up a simple pre-order form and a ppt presentation which has only like 6 slides! The ppt presentation alone took me 2 solid hrs!
This ppt presentation and pre-order form is due today (fri - 29/09).. so ya.. have to get it over and done with..

My eyes were very tired after tat, and I got a terrible headache lah.. and suddenly my computer got problem, so had to resolve it.. Thank God its able to be resolved lah.. I was on a verge of getting a new harddisk.. so ya.. but now, can save the money liaox =)

That was yesterday (thurs - 28/09)..

Today was slightly more relaxing.. I actually woke up like at 0800 but I "lai chuang" until I felt asleep and as a result, I woke up at 1000.. this is like the latest which I have woken up lah! so ya..

Then was on computer and start to blog this blogpost loh.. and as well as do my KL Trip photos.. tried to upload but something is really wrong with Yahoo! I dun koe why.. maybe tonight will be ok? If not, I need to upload into another server.. so ya.. will see tonite ba!

Then afternoon, went to my hairstylist and cut my hair for my cousin wedding dinner tml.. my hair is now fantastic! My hairstylist really cut very fast! Within 10 mins, my hair was done.. very satisfying.. of course, he is a professional hairstylist, so therefore, I paid $18 for my haircut! usual lah! Actually ah, other ppl he charge $20.. but becos my family (mum, sis & dad) were regular customers, therefore, he gave me cheaper price of $18.. I asked him "how much".. he said "same".. then I was like dun koe how much.. juz give him $20 and he return me $2.. so ya.. so the price for me has not change 2 yrs ago! Hahax.. =P

Now, I gtg and buy dinner and some refreshments for tonite cell from Toa Payoh liaox.. Gonna eat my rojak! Best! =)

What a wonderful 3 days!

Hey ppl! I'm back from KL! The past 3 days have been fantastic! The feeling is like though we had been back, we wished tat the trip never end.. This is becos its really very enjoyable to be in the company with friends, so there was laughter and stuff.. so ya.. I really didnt regret to go on this trip.. =).. we even made like a thing to meet every 25th of September (like anniversary lah!).. so ya.. So we shall see how loh..

Anyway, below is a brief account of each day wat we did!

Day 1: 25/09/06 (Monday)

I woke up like at 0530.. brush teeth and ate breakfast.. then Boon Sen took cab and fetch me, and off we went to Golden Mile.. Kokwei & samuel were there earlier, but they bluff us tat they were far away.. haix.. Yizhou then came to join us..

Then I went to check in with the person in the office.. We were expecting a single deck bus and not so comfortable, as we did not pay the extra cost.. but never did we expect tat we got a normal bus but it was super comfortable.. so ya.. it was a somewhat a blessing in disguise lah! (See picture on left! Tat was our bus!)

Then off we went on our journey to KL.. go thru Customs and then went up to the bus and 2 hrs later, we stop for our mid-trip lunch at Yong Peng.. it was a food-court kind of place.. had Mee Rebus for lunch.. not bad.. costs a mere RM 4.50.. quite cheap lah!

4 hrs later, we reached our hotel, Federal Hotel. It was ok on the outside, but I was quite taken aback at how the reception looked! It looked so different on the website. On the website it look so class and all, but when I was there, it looked quite old..

Then we went up to our rooms.. And again, I was shocked as well.. Becos the website photos shown were a whole lot bigger.. so ya.. and I was expecting more.. haix.. but wat to do? Just have to live with it.. but overtime, I got used to the room.. and man! I've visited my other friends' (Yizhou & Samuel) room and theirs was even smaller.. becos my room is shared with 2 other ppl (Boon Sen & Kokwei).. so ya.. so we needed a bigger room.. so ya..

Then after we put down our stuff, we bathe, freshen up and then we went out to the areas to explore, as well as to shop and eat..

First stop was Plaza Low Yat; it is similar to the Sim Lim Square of Singapore.. all of us had not much interest in the building, so we left the building quite fast..

Then we waked, and then we went into BB Plaza and interlinked with it is Sungei Wang Shopping Centre (similar to Far East in Singapore).. Managed to buy a few stuff which I really like, but its like I was so surprised tat there were Giordano stores there too, so I was usually happy! I walked in and then guess wat I found! A white linen pants which I always wanted to buy here in Singapore but there was no more stock.. so ya.. then I bought and my friends bought, and a total came to a whopping RM 261.. and instantly, I was a member of Giordano.. and one thing good abt Giordano member is tat this membership is able to be used WORLDWIDE and I get 10% off regular price items.. so ya..
As usual, the salesperson there was helpful, so I was in fact very happy with the service.. =)

Then we chanced upon another shop, where everything we buy was really a steal lah! My friends bought some things frm there, and agreed tat it was good price!.. so ya.. I also bought some stuff frm there lah, but not much becos didnt really want to spend all, becos its juz the first day!.. so ya..

Came back to hotel becos we were all tired.. and on the way back to the hotel, there were a row of shops (approx. 10) with its owners and helpers vying for business of trying to persuade tourists to go for the foot massage/reflexology.. I was feeling super irritated and then everytime I walk past those shops, my goosepimples would juz simply stand lah, becos its machiam like walking along the streets of Geylang in Singapore.. aiyoh.. juz the thought of it juz makes my hair stand.. *eeks*

Then bathe and went to sleep at 2330.. super tired..

Day 2: 26/09/06 (Tuesday)

Woke up bright and early (0630 to be exact!), becos today we had a long day ahead of us..

Started the day with breakfast and I muz say the spread of breakfast though limited, but it taste quite good.. I was craving for Teochew porridge the nite before and there in the morning, there was the Teochew porridge.. so ya.. it was of course yummy!

Cldnt ate much loh as usual, becos its like at 0745 leh! So ya.. After finishing our breakfast, we asked one of the waitress to help us take photo.. she was like so scared like tat.. and then she take is like so "silent mode" (as wat Kokwei says!).. ha.. no count at all.. ha.. =)..

Came up to room, bathe and style hair, and off we went to shop ard KL in its town area..

First stop was Berjaya Times Square.. Big but boring.. but it took us quite a while to find the building, becos it looks so near from our hotel, but thank goodness I had printed out a map of the KL town area, so we see our map as we walk loh! So ya.. a map comes in handy loh! =)

Then we took the KL Monorail to Suria KLCC (where the Petronas Twin Tower was located)..
KLCC stands for Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.. We took the KL Monorail.. so ya.. at times we walked super far to take the monorail.. and it was an experience to take Monorail, becos we had some embarassing moments.. so ya.. It was like there was this MRT underground thingy for their LRT, and like all Singaporeans, we decided to go to the end of the train.. but we realise something.. the ends were all empty and ppl board frm the centre.. and we were like scratching our head, and then when the monorail eventually stop, it actually stops in the centre and the end was of no use becos the monorail was not long enuf.. ha.. then we of course laugh our heads off.. ha..

Then once we stop at KLCC, we went to this place called Suria KLCC.. its like a mega shopping mall (imagine the expensive boutique stores and other small common stores in Orchard Road combined into 1 mall!).. yes! Tats how big the mall is!

We got hungry and we ate A&W for lunch.. its been long since I've eaten A&W, and therefore I ate it.. I also drank the root beer float loh! Very nice =) And the root beer was at its best.. NO icecubes but yet ice cold.. so its really natural!!

Then we had "itchy mouths" and saw Dunkin Donuts.. we went to eat 1 donut each.. so ya.. bought 5 but get 1 free.. so ya.. I've actually eaten the flavour which Boon Sen bought and he eaten mine.. haix.. but I did have a bite of mine too! =).. hahax..

Then we walked, and I was quite shocked to see shops like Gucci, British India, Mont Blanc, Crabtree & Evelyn, etc.. so ya.. now u koe why I said like its a mini Orchard Road?

Then we like wanted to visit the Petronas Twin Towers but to our disappointment, we only managed to find the place like after an hour of walking, and when we went there, we juz realised tat there were no more tickets left for the Petronas Twin Towers Skybridge visit, as the tix were free-of-charge and its a tourist attraction.. haix.. such a pity..

Then we walked and walked the whole Suria KLCC, and then we decided to go to another attraction of theirs; the Aquaria.. Its like our underwater world at Sentosa.. so ya.. So we went there, and walk like a 15 min walk to the Aquaria, becos its another part of the building, and its super far lah! And so we really considered like 15 mins as to whether to go in, becos for foreigners, its like RM 38.. ex rite? But in the end, we decided to give it a try, since we walked so far liaox..

Went in, and then walk the whole Aquaria.. there was a section on rainforest as well.. so creepy crawlies were featured and I tell you, my goosepimples really stood up whenever I see them.. there was this super fat giant milllipede.. I at first took a picture of it, but delete it after tat, becos its been giving me the creeps.. *eeks*

Then Samuel gave us a scare.. he said tats all for the ocean part.. I was quite scared, becos if this is so, then I've wasted like RM 38.. I still dun believe becos I read tat there is like the tunnel thingy, and we had not walked yet.. so ya.. I asked one of the ppl and they said there is more.. so ya.. Thank God!

So ya.. went to the tunnel thingy, took a video.. so ya..

After we finished walking the Aquaria, we went to Chinatown which is quite a distance away, so we took the Monorail and then with the map, we walked.. but then we got lost.. Saw a 7-11 store and I went up and ask.. so they told us but then, the person spoke in Malay, and guess wat! I didnt understand.. I juz like nod my head.. ha..

After walking, we then realised tat we had walk 1 big round and was back at square one.. so to solve all problems, we took a cab.. and the cabs there was like simply no meter.. you juz say where u want to go, and then they quote u a price.. and of course which such a system, they see you tourist, and then they try to "cut your throat".. but we had no choice.. the taxi driver charged us RM 20 for a place which is abt 15 mins drive away.. I think it cld be lesser, but then becos its peak hour, and the traffic conditions there were real bad; the traffic lights seemed to spoil at peak hour, and the motorcyclists is wat pedestrians need to be aware of.. They have a mentality tat pedestrians give way to vehicles and not the other way round.. weird rite? I even see a motorcyclist juz go up the pedestrian curb and turn ard to go to other direction, instead of driving to a proper U-turn zone! Weird rite?

Anyway, we reached Chinatown and it was really Chinatown.. (a mix of pasar malam style and the Chinatown place in Singapore).. again, bought a few stuffs at a steal price and the Chinatown place really test my bargaining skills.. so ya.. I was nicknamed by my friends, the BEST bargainer! =).. Thanx to my shopping and talking skills =)

Then it was time for dinner.. We decided to eat street hawker stalls (though the sight of it was really dirty!), becos its true tat if you dun eat hawker stalls in Malaysia, then its not considered u been to Malaysia! So ya.. after much walking, we walked to a back alley and there was this zhi char stall which like a lot of ppl eat.. so we decided to juz sit there and eat..

And again, becos the Chinese Malaysians there speaks Cantonese, so therefore, I have to adapt to it and with my basic Cantonese, try to understand, and speak only a few basic words.. so ya..
We ordered sweet & sour pork, a fish ball soup (which was super big bowl and when it came, I was quite surprised at how are we going to finish!), blachan kangkong, egg omelette (commonly known as 'fu yong tan'), and, fried slice beef with spring onion.. so ya.. We waited 30 mins for our dinner to arrive at our table.. so we were like saying this food muz be very good..

And becos the sweet and sour pork was so good, we decided to order another plate, but then to our disappointed, the person told me no more liaox in Cantonese of course, and she suggested tat sweet and sour chicken or pork ribs! And then we said chicken.. but then we asked her how long, and she said 30 mins, and we was like cannot lah.. too long.. then we forget it.. so after everything, we got the bill and it only comes to RM 92.20.. which is abt S$45, and each person only pays S$9.. its super cheap loh! =)

Of course, its unanimously agreed tat this was our best meal ever! =) Until now, I'm still thinking abt the sweet and sour pork! Yummy!!

Went back to hotel in cab after tat from Chinatown, and for this, it only costs us RM 10.. and then we realised tat the earlier cab driver tat we took to Chinatown has really cheated us..

Anyway, the cab driver tat brings us back frm Chinatown to our hotel was really scary! The driver was not on safety belt, and I also didnt wear (was too lazy).. but I held on to the railing becos he drove so fast.. and he didnt care lah.. machiam like on a Initial D car like tat.. at times, he almost knocked into another vehicle, and he comes out of the small lanes which was totally unexpected (the small lanes were supposed to ne walk paths but u see.. now u koe why I said the traffic conditions there is real bad!).. so ya.. Quite scary but it was an experience..

Went back to the hotel room real shacked! After bathing, I slept immediately!

Day 3: 27/09/06 (Wednesday)

I actually "lai chuang" for abt 30 mins.. Mtg time for breakfast is like at 0800, but I had to wake up like 0700 becos there was 2 other ppl who need to use the toilet too.. so ya..

But I "lai chuang" until 0730.. then force myself to get up and then by the time my room mates were done, it was 0830.. haix.. so we went down for breakfast, but Sam & Yizhou were not down yet, so we ate..

And I didnt koe why I had such a big appetite.. I actually had ate more than yesterday's breakfast.. and it was the first time tat I tried the Nasi Lemak, and I muz say its very good! =).. Ate 2 bowls of porridge and a whole lot of other stuff.. so ya..
And I remembered tat yesterday there were not many Americans, and dun koe suddenly I ate breakfast, there were like so many American ppl! Weird isnt it? Of course you wld see the Americans never touch those Chinese stuff.. they only ate their bread and cereals.. haix.. real sad.. but on the other hand, I never touch those bread and all becos I was really sick of it liaox! ha..

By the time we were done, it was 1000, and then we went out to walk and do our last minute shopping, but realised tat the shops were not opened till 1130.. so we went back to our rooms and bathe and pack and stuff..

We all agreed to meet at hotel lobby at 1145.. then Boon Sen asked me whether do we need to tell them tat we decide to check out late at 1300.. the receptionist said ok, but only can be for 1 room.. so we decided and ask Yizhou and Sam to move their stuffs to our room.. so ya.. and so they did and after which, we went to do some last minute shopping..

After shopping, we were literally 10 mins away from the check out timing.. we were afraid tat if we check out late, charges wld be incurred.. so we rush out as fast as we cld! Managed to check out on time.. and then leave our baggage with the bell counter (but we didnt give tips becos we tot dun need, but of course, they didnt say anything lah, they juz look at us differently).. Then after which, we came back and then Sam said he forgot his jacket, and so he search in his luggage, and there was none.. so he requested to go up to his room to check.. and fortunately, the room was not cleared up yet, so he is able to find his things.. so ya..

And so we waited for the bus to arrive.. an old man arrive and we guess tat its our so call bus driver, we went up to him to confirm our seating and stuff.. so ya..

By 1500, we were up the bus and left KL for Singapore.. of course, we stop at Yong Peng again for dinner and at the same time, buy some Malaysia stuff back home.. so ya..

And at abt 1934 (still an hour plus frm reaching Singapore), I got a call frm my mum at home.. and so I picked up the call with my auto-roaming of course, and my mum was so worried as she thought I was still in Malaysia, when actually I'm abt an hour away from Singapore.. ha..

And so at 2115, we reached Golden Mile.. took a cab home with Boon Sen.. unpack a few stuff, bathe and then slept for the day! Super tired!

Yupz.. the above was my account of my 3D2N in KL.. exciting huh! ha.. I dun think its brief.. its only 80% detailed.. ha.. you all are fortunate tat I didnt include the other 20% details or u all wld be bored to death! =)

Tired...

Fwah! Super tired! The past few days were sleep late nites and wake up like bright and early in the morning, with only like 6-7 hrs sleep and then I can't sleep liaox!Now then I realise how fatigue am I loh!

Tonight is worse! I have to like pack some of my last minute stuff into my luggage for my Malaysia trip tml, as well as complete at least the main paperwork (ie, minutes for publicity team for my upcoming youth camp)..

I juz finished packing my stuff.. then bathe and now blogging for a while, and after which, I would be going back to my youth camp stuff.. Super stress! Can u imagine tat my first publicity stint has to be done up before Friday (29/10) and then I can only start doing it after I come back from Malaysia on Wednesday (27/10)? See how stressed am I now? Man.. I hate stress! But wat to do? I've got a responsibility to fulfill, so ya.. haix..

Anyway, today nothing much lah.. except morning once I wake up, I did a bit of my youth camp stuff, and then go bathe, and then go visit my grandma at the nursing home.. then its proceeding to Suntec to have a celebratory dinner (celebrate tat I got a job liaox!) with my mum's church friend @ Kuishinbo!

I tell you.. today is the first time which I really ate so much.. I ate for 3 whole hours non-stop man! I eat until my tummy was really to the brim.. There were those happy moments when eating halfway, the music comes on for periodic specials, and you start queueing for them; and as all typical Singaporeans, I was proud to be the FIRST in the queue! Ha.. Am I fast? There is a trick to it lah.. Becos we were very near the person, and whenever I heard the bell tingling (becos I got sharp ears), I would koe tat something is in store! Ha.. Quite fun =)

Then took bus came home loh.. and now blog loh!

Ok lah.. can't blog further or else I dun need to sleep liaox.. I got to wake up like 0530 becos mtg time for cab is at 0645, and we got to reach Golden Mile before 0730.. so ya..

Ok.. I really gtg liaox.. Ciaoz and ya.. I shall cya all in abt 3 days time, where I wld blog abt my Malaysia trip loh! =) Cya soon ppl! =)

Finally a weekend!!!

Yeyeyeyesssss! Yeyeyeyesssss! *exclaims in the tone of the Claireol Herbal Essence Shampoo advert!*.. ok.. I koe tat sounds so wrong.. but WTH! hahax.. =P

Anyway, its the weekend and man oh man.. I'm gonna be so busy..

Last nite slept like at 0015 but woke up at 0710 this morning! This is like so early lah! And becos I got nothing to do after I woke up, after my breakfast, I on my DVD player and watched the movie, "National Treasure".. "National Treasure" is a movie which was bought a year ago but no time to see it, until today.. ha.. so ya.. my verdict of the show? Not bad! Lots of suspense! =)

Then after which, I was online for a while, and saw Damien (a attached PLAB guy, but now he's back at PLAB) online.. chatted with him for a while.. he is the same old crappy guy man! Oh man.. I really miss his jokes and all loh.. haix.. =(
Then saw my sgt Zhiwen online.. added him on Friendster and then also chatted with him online too.. another super crappy guy.. he chat with me crap, I chat with him crap too loh! hahax.. =P
Then another one.. my bro, Andrew, was online.. I chatted with him.. more crap man!
So wats wrong with me today? Every MSN window which I chatted with all either starts with some crap word or along the way, the conversation becomes crappy.. wats wrong with me? Even the way of how I started my blog entry today is also real crappy..
Am I getting a pre-trip fever? Or are these signs of an ORD personnel? hmm.. *scratches head*..

Then ate lunch (which was again Chicken rice.. I dun koe why.. I had this craving for chicken rice.. hmmm..).. Then went to play piano for a while, before bathing and go to church for music practice..

So practice was fine.. =).. Then when the service finishes, Nat, Ash, Andrew & myself went to Mos Burger to discuss some details for Youth Camp fund-raising campaign.. so ya.. we managed to settle some issues lah, but not all.. and I cldnt resist the food.. was feeling a bit hungry, so ate a mixed tempura rice burger (dun koe wat its called! Paiseh!).. it was of course yummilicious but after which, my throat hurt a little from the freshly deep-fried fillings.. so ya..

Then went back to church and soon the Youth Service started.. and I tell you.. the service was awesome.. really felt the Presence of God throughout the service.. so ya.. Thank God! =).. And I really was very "into the music".. I played with so much feelings tat the side of my thumb is slightly swollen and I betcha in a few days time, its either a blister or some hard skin would be formed!

Then its off to dinner and then the Youth Camp mtg.. I tot my job was very simple, but then now, its like loads and loads of stuff.. its like I'm the one who starts everything in the initial stage, so everything needs to be in a tip-top condition.. so you koe wat this means? I've got lots of things to do and there are deadlines to meet too, so there is a fair amount of stress.. and for the FIRST time after so many yrs tat I've experience headaches becos of the extra usuage of my brain! haha.. so oh well.. after my Malaysia trip, I cant rest loh.. I have to like slogging.. haix.. but I guess I like doing this, becos its administration work? =)..
The whole mtg only lasts for abt 30 mins.. but after the mtg ended, Ash, Nat, Andrew, Alvin & myself had an additional hr of mtg to tie down stuff, and its there tat I realise tat I got loads of stuff to do.. but nevertheless, I've got an assistant (Matthew Yap), but he got studies as well, so cant really tax him tat much.. so the major production stuff he is doing.. I'm doing all the minor details or doesnt require a lot of brain power, juz pure admin work.. so ya.. =).. Juz hope I can meet the deadlines ya? I plan to finish most of it before I start work, becos once I start work, tats it lah.. no time liaox.. so ya.. =)

Ok.. I think tats all liaox.. I think I'm gonna sleep real late tonite, becos I have to start rushing.. my first publicity project is due nxt Sat (30/9).. gtg now..

A day out!

The day started with me waking up at 0730 (super early rite?.. ya! becos I slept at 2300 yesterday nite!)..

Woke up and ate my breakfast, and at the same time watch my taped programmes.. so ya..

Then I was on net for a while to pass time lah.. I then read my bro, Sidney's blog and juz realised tat he has been selected to be 1 of the participants for my base CoC Parade which is a day before his ORD.. ha.. Poor thing.. but now I can say this to him, "Do you think I care? ORD loh!".. =P.. hahax.. juz love suaning him; juz like the old times! =)

Then I bathed and then off I went to camp to meet my Malaysia trip kakkis for the excuse recall signing by my OC.. so ya..

Just before I left, I got a call from Samuel (my camp's OC-PA) asking me details of my trip and I juz ask him to cfm whether my OC wld be in the whole day, so tat when we go back to let my OC sign the excuse recall form, we wld not be disappointed.. so ya.. but never did I expect tat Samuel told me tat he got something on in the afternoon, so ya.. then he did me a great favour by helping me and my Malaysia kakkis fill up the form and then my OC sign.. so ya.. so its juz like we all go there to sign the form only.. so it saves us a lot of trouble lah! Thanx Sam once again =)

Then after we finished signing, we went up to bunk to rest a while becos it was pouring cats and dogs outside! So ya.. Then went to canteen to had lunch with the rest becos I was super hungry! =)..

Oh.. today I went back to camp with my civi attire, machiam we like going for ORD and collecting my pink IC liaox.. really feels good to be ORD-ing personnels.. hahax.. =P.. Along the way, met some ppl (both dismounting shifts and mounting shifts personnel; including one of the new guys frm Shift 1 whom I'm mounted 1 duty with!) and said hi! =)..

Then as we are able to leave camp, I went back to the pass office and return my base pass.. then suddenly, some new guy had some problems in Table.. and I was shocked tat no senior guys was there at all.. only left one of the pass making office senior guy but he was busy.. so ya.. so seeing him like so poor thing, I did help him a bit like settle some things as well as change back 1 of the pass.. so ya.. so you see.. I still cannot bear to leave my Table duty.. hahax.. =P.. so I like do my last duty.. hahax.. =P

Then left camp and got a lift from Samuel (my bunk mate!) dad's new Toyota Vios car! Though its small, but it managed to squeeze 5 ppl (including me!) at the back! best rite.. ha.. once reach the main gate, I took a train to Somerset to meet my parents for some family time.. so ya..

We walked almost the whole Orchard Road to search for my mum's clothing for various occasions this yr.. so ya.. she managed to get it in the end lah! so ya.. Thank God! As for me, I have not found my clothings for some of the occasions, so I have to continue shopping loh.. but was in vain.. I actually wanted to settle for a Zara top, but was too expensive.. its $59.90.. but the clothing was nice.. so ya.. but decides tat it was like not my ultimate choice for the occasion.. so I reluctant;y gave it up.. so ya.. so sad.. =(

Then we went over to Raffles City to had dinner.. I had a craving for chicken rice.. so I ate it lah..

So after dinner, we went over to Suntec City to collect a wedding invitation card for the upcoming wedding dinner held on 10/10.. so ya.. And low and behold.. I suddenly remembered tat actually the bride was the cashier who actually took the payment from me when I paid for my Adidas sneakers the other time (abt 3 mths back!).. so ya.. never did you expect I got such good memory huh =)

So we walked and walked.. and then I went to Yes! Eyewear and bought my contact lens.. I looked for the manager there (whom I koe of course and everytime I go there, I wld look for her!), and told her I needed contact lens.. but this time, I decided to buy 1 Day Acuvue Moist daily disposables, becos I simply cant take the dryness of Focus Dailies Moist liaox (my eyes hurt lah!).. so ya.. so actually total cost is $110, but she only charge me $90! and this is a wonder lah! I actually didnt expect it.. she is actually charging me the price which is the normal 1 day Acuvue.. so ya.. so I actually saved $20! not bad! =)

Then went to Carrefour to buy some stuff for my trip.. specifically I bought biscuits for my trip loh, becos I koe my grp of ppl so early where got eat breakfast (unlike me), so I juz buy some biscuits for them to munch, juz in case they got hungry!.. so ya.. I machiam really like S4 (for those of you who dun koe wat is S4, S4 is the person in the army who are in charge of the normal admin/minor gritty stuff/stores/meals indentation).. man!

Then came home by cab becos my parents bought some really big plastic boxes to put my sis art stuff and my NS stuff!.. so ya.. then in the cab, managed to found a phone, but in the end, I managed to contact the owner and the taxi driver actually agreed to send the phone back to the owner.. so ya..

Then bathe and now blog loh! I can tell you my legs are really aching frm all tat walking today.. but nevertheless, I'm gonna perservere.. this is juz a warmup to KL.. KL shall be the place where I shop till I drop.. wahahaha..

Ok.. gtg and sleep liaox! Very tired.. gtg church for much practice tml and after church tml, got church Youth Camp Committee mtg after church.. so ya.. But its really a pity.. I WONT be attending this yr's Youth Camp becos of work commitments (still under the probation period, so no leave allowed and stuff!.. so ya).. haix.. so looks like have to give it a miss loh! =(.. but nevertheless, I would still be helping out in the publicity of the camp.. so ya.. no problem! =)

A day at home..

What can I say? 4 letters!! S-I-A-N !!!

I actually spend the whole morning doing nothing!.. watch TV, read newspapers and play some piano to brushen/refresh my skills..

Then finally in the afternoon, I found something to do, and tat is to pack my stuff for my Malaysia trip happening nxt wk! And I spend abt 1-1.5 hrs to pack my stuff.. I also had to think wat clothes suit me best and does it fit the occasion/place etc.. so ya..
This always happen to me.. juz a short trip can make me pack for 1.5 hrs.. I'm thinking if I go overseas for abt 2 wks, how long shld I pack? 5 hrs? I dun koe! I dun wanna think abt it! *eeks*
So ya.. managed to pack it more or less 80% liaox.. All thanx to the luggage checklist which I had done up earlier! so ya..
And I have a very bad habit.. when its like I'm excited abt the trip, I wld like want to pack but becos find it too early, so I juz push the packing further back.. but now, its like 4 days to my trip, and the nxt 3 days wld be busy days for me, so I had no choice but to pack.. and guess wat! I'm shacked after all tat packing becos I think a lot and stuff.. so ya.. haix..

Then I guess tonite wld be watching some TV followed by my usual surfing at nite.. then its sleep until tml morning and then wake up and get ready to go back to camp for my OC to sign my overseas excuse recall form.. haix.. so troublesome.. If only I had remembered yesterday b4 I left camp.. haix.. =(

Yesterday nite was a counselling nite for me on MSN.. I actually counselled someone (becos of family problems) but unsucessful! haix.. I shall try again tonite! =) Hope I succeed loh! You shld koe who you are! =)

My last duty with mixed feelings

My last duty was quite a siong one.. though there are new ppl, but then duties are still as shiong.. dun koe why.. maybe becos they need at least a senior guy to teach the new guys, becos the new guys are on OJT (On Job Training).. so ya..

But wat I was so disappointed is tat I did NOT get the chance to attend my LAST CO Parade.. ya.. no doubt I was taking the risk of attending the CO Parade without cutting my hair (becos I think my hair is short enuf and I want to cut it only after my Malaysia trip, to look my best for my cousin's wedding end of Sept..)..
During the morning, one of my friends told me tat I dun need to go for CO Parade becos another guy and me have to guard another gate.. and I tell you.. guarding tat gate is super boring lah.. and we had to stay there frm 0800-1400 (6 hrs!).. super bored! No amount of talking to each other will help! And we was like chatting in MSN the other nite tat we hope we wont be the "lucky" 2 to go to the gate and do duty.. but haix.. =(

After went back to the restroom after 1400, I was greeted with another table duty frm 1700-2100.. so ya.. during the 4 hr period, I got 2 new guys under me for 2 hrs each.. so the first one I taught him abt the table stuff for 2 solid hrs! The nxt one came in, I managed to concise everything to abt an hr!.. so ya.. can see they are getting bored with my explanation, so I sped up the process.. Dun say.. I even find myself very long-winded.. but no choice, becos if I dun do this, then they wld not understand all the things.. so you can see.. I actually tok NON-STOP for 1 hr! so ya.. so you can see the number of things tat Table ppl needs to do.. so ya.. At the same time, I was encouraging them to ask questions (watever they didnt koe).. I want it to be a 2 way thing rather than 1 way.. so ya..

So ya.. after 2100, I went to rest.. then I started my "lectures" again from 0500-0900.. this time, 2 new guys come in at each time and they do 2 hrs each.. so ya..

So you can see.. I have repeated my "1-hr lecture" for 4 times over the past 24 hrs.. so ya.. and not bad.. I had taught 6 new guys.. juz hope they wld be as detailed as me when they do table duty loh.. so ya..
Then when I see them actually carry out wat I told them and do it correctly, like help change pass or take keys and follow all my instructions as wat I taught them, I juz felt this sense of happiness and satisfaction.. hmm.. now I koe why teachers felt so good when they students do well in their exams! =)

Then everyone kept asking me when my last duty.. and I was like telling them "today".. then they were shocked.. See how modest I was! I never tell ppl I last duty until they asked! =P..

Just yesterday, I felt very excited abt my last duty today.. but after finish my last duty, I didnt felt anything.. but come to think of it, I somewhat felt sad tat it is my last duty.. I dun koe why.. there is this missing space in me lah!.. I think I've grown attached to Shift 1 liaox.. the ppl, the specs and my PC (aka officer).. I dun koe lah.. and moreover, there are new guys.. really want to interact with them more (like toking to them and like imparting other stuff abt our duties to them.. I think I have a passion for teaching.. so ya..)
Btw, do you all koe tat I have always wanted to become a teacher when I was young? I dun koe why.. but now, it doesnt seem so liaox lah, becos of my Diploma and sumthing.. so ya.. sad rite.. haix..

Then came home and took cab with Alex (my shift mate who stays so near me!).. I actually called cab and I was so paiseh for making the cab driver wait so long (all becos of the last min thing I inform Alex tat I wld be cabbing home becos I got to bring home my duffel bag and stuff!), becos the cab driver called me 3 times and send me an SMS for waiting so long.. so ya.. I think the cab driver was tired of waiting, becos he told me he got 'tua' 3 times this morning.. so ya..
Then I actually drag my duffel bag past the X-Ray where one of the new guys (who is in another shift, but I did duty with him during the exercise period in base last wk!).. he asked me where am I going with the duffel bag? I told him I last duty.. and guess wat.. he was shocked too lah! =)
Anyway, Alex actually suggested he wanted to split the cab cost with me since he was taking cab, but becos its my last day and moreover I dun stop him at his house, I said I wld pay the full cost lah.. but once the cab reached my hse, Alex said he might as well continue home with the cab.. so the cab fare was close to $11.00.. I gave him $12 and asked him keep the change.. so ya.. =)..

Then came home.. had lunch then I bathe.. and then I juz remembered tat becos nxt wk I'm going to Malaysia, I have to let my OC sign the excuse recall form.. so ya.. So you koe wat this means? I have to go back camp and make the special trip to do it, or else, I cant go to Malaysia! Fortunately, I tot of it or else I dun need to go to Malaysia liaox..
So I began SMS-ing the appropriate ppl asking them abt this signing of excuse recall form.. so I got the replies.. and then, I told my friends, Boon Sen, Kokwei, Yizhou & Samuel tat they need to sign too.. so we decided to meet up on Fri (22/9) to go back camp and sign.. so ya.. Juz hope my OC approves it and we can find him in a jiffy lah, becos afternoon I got to meet my parents to spend some family time.. so ya =).. So pray for me ok? Pray tat it wld be approved! Thanx.. or else ah, my trip which I paid wld juz be gone like tat! So I dun want this to happen lah.. so ya.. Thanx for praying in advance! =)

I feel like going swimming or running tml now tat I'm on leave (starting tml).. see how lah!
I'm bingeing for the mth of October.. becos nxt wk I'm going to KL to eat and shop, then nxt sun, I'm going to Kuishinbo for my celebration feast for my job.. then 10 days later, I'm attending another wedding (my mum's niece) dinner.. then on 21/10, I have my church's anniversary dinner at York Hotel.. so ya.. so its eating and more eating.. If I dun exercise, I think I wld simply grow fat lah.. so ya.. =)

The last bit....

Well.. my journey as an NSF is almost done!
Tml (19/9) will mark the day when I will perform my LAST RP duty.. Its time to like pass all of wat I koe at Table to the new guys who would be doing duty with us tml! So ya.. =) Now its all up to the new guys to protect the airbase with their lives!
And guess wat.. wat a way to "celebrate" my last duty, where I would have my LAST CO Parade tml.. How lucky am I rite.. ha.. Think I buy 4D or Toto also not so "zhun"! wahaha.. Oh.. tml CO's Parade is also the FIRST time where I'm wearing admin with sandles and attending CO Parade.. wat a way to end my life as an NSF in my squadron! haha.. =P
So as the previous "old birds" would say to the new guys, "Zhe Bu Shi Wo De Nian Dai Le!"..

Anyway, yesterday duty was as usual lah.. Table duties all the way.. but I'm doing the night shift, and like all humans, I need my all essential rest at nite, so doing duty at nite (no doubt its at Table), but duty can be extremely tiring! So ya.. haix.. But I still managed to pull it thru of course (the abilities of an "old bird".. wahaha.. ok! I better stop it or else I kenna beaten to a pulp! haha..)

And since I'm at Table, there are times at nite where I juz stare in space (becos nobody mah at nite!), and juz think of my future plans! Here are my tots:

(a) Get my Class 3 driving licence by end 2007. I give myself 1 year to achieve. Tots are in my mind to during my leave, start learning.. so dun waste time.. so ya.. see how lah! I will definately be a school candidate for my driving.. dun trust those private instructors though they are cheap.. so ya.. I rather play safe.. ha.. =)

(b) Do my weekly physical exercises (like swimming, running) when time permits; at least once a week, so as to prevent myself frm getting fatter, and also at the same time, prepare for my NSmen IPPT from March 2007 onwards..

(c) Get my personal car by 2010-2011 earliest. I've always wanted a Toyota car, so probably I wld get one when I decided to have a car of my own!
And I dun koe izzit my nature or sumthing.. I have been like suddenly very interested in cars.. like seeing cars adverts and stuff.. hmm..

Came home after dismounting frm duty, with of course a big bag of things.. tat is my 2nd last installment of stuff.. after clearing the stuff today, I still have my field pack, SBO & helmet.. so ya.. so tat constitutes the last 1% of things tat I need to clear!.. so you can say tat my cupboard is 99% cleared as well (except for things like my tshirt and stuff!).. so ya.. ORD loh.. ha.. *punches hand in air!*.. better stop or else again kenna beaten! wahaha.. =P

Then I was so tired tat I spend 2 hrs having my nap! Pig rite.. hahax.. =P.. but then though my alarm rang, I still continue sleeping until my dad wake me up for dinner half an hour later! so ya.. so in total, slept for 2.5 hrs! =).. I feel so pig-ish (if there is such a word! hahax..)

Ok lah.. other stuff are in the works and still processing in my brain, so can't type it in this blogpost.. either they are not impt at all, or its simply I've forgotten (all thanx to my short term memory!.. so ya..)

Ok.. gtg and surf net a while b4 I log off and need to rest early for my last duty as well as my last CO Parade tml.. so ya.. ha.. =)

My duty as a "Table Boy"...

Did duty yesterday but as a "PIKACHU" (a term for unfit-for-duty personnel, but the correct long term of it is "pai-ka-pai-chiu"), becos yesterday, I went to my camp doctor to report for my foot rot (its super disgusting, so dun ask!), which is unbearable liaox! Its getting worse.. so ya.. but of course, its still salvagable.. so ya..

Anyway, yesterday marks the last day where the attached PLAB ppl to our base for duty.. After they are gone, the restroom seemed so quiet.. its quite sad for me to see the PLAB ppl gone.. haix.. I miss them lah.. not to mention tat when we initially fall in, my whole squadron was like ghost town, becos the FDC trainees and their instructors were like on their well-deserved off.. so ya.. quite scary actually, becos I'm not used to such quietness.. so ya..

So after abt an hour of getting my status, I went for my NSmen talk and proceeded to my bunk for my last PC interview with my officer.. so ya.. After which, its changed to the necessary "PIKACHU" uniform and went down for duty..

My duty hrs were quite shiong, but judging by the duties I'm doing, I shld not complain.. so ya.. So did duty the whole nite..

Came home and blog this blogpost loh.. then rest a while before going to church.. Church was all right.. its quite fun to see all my church mates again after a 2 wk absence! so ya.. talk and catch up a lot as usual.. =)

so ya.. and its duty tml again.. and guess wat! My OC made a new standing order tat we are gonna draw arms at 0730 instead of 0745! I was like totally sianx lah, when I heard the news! =(.. Becos its a weekend and if I take bus, my first bus wld be 0635-0640 instead of the normal 0622-0630, and then I still have to switch buses at AMK Interchange, and the frequency is super long lah.. so you tell me, how I reach my bunk in time to change and stuff! Moreover, tml the base does not have the normal transport which they had on weekday mornings, becos tml is a Sunday!.. so ya.. So imagine I reach my front gate at 0705, then I still muz walk to my bunk which takes me another 15-20 minutes!.. I dun need to change (no doubt its juz a t-shirt, shorts & sandals)? I dun need to prepare? WTH loh!.. haix.. but wat to do? SAF teaches us to complies to orders, so we have no choice but to comply to it.. haix.. =(.. Fortunately going to ORD liaox, or else, I wld die loh..
So you koe wat this means? I have to take cab liaox.. Mon nite (which is the day we dismount) need to go back to base, becos nxt day got CO Parade.. sianx.. Then wednesday after dismount, need to call and take cab home.. gosh! These 3 days my transport wld be like cab all the way.. My cab fare for these 3 days, I budget at $30.. I dun even koe whether enuf.. sianx.. =(

Ok lah.. gtg and bathe and sleep liao! Oh.. not forgetting I have to apply my medication for foot rot and stuff.. haix.. mount duty tml.. sianx lah! =(

A day after the news...

Yes.. I've changed my nick on MSN the moment I knew I was going for the signing of the employment letter.. And once ppl see my nick, they kept asking me wats my position in my employment company.. so ya.. so when this happens, I have to like explain all over again.. I'm not tired of doing so, but it tends to like ya koe, gets lazy of typing at times.. so ya..

Anyway, yesterday's duty was one of my most shiong duty.. the whole day I didnt sleep till 2300 and woke up at 0440.. and then I didnt sleep after tat! So ya.. quite a no. of ppl were either on medical leave or they have cleared leave.. so ya.. My whole bunkmates were not mounting duty, except Ben & myself.. we were the lone rangers of the bunk! but ya.. Fortunately, I got other shift mates whom I can get along with.. so ya.. so I can say mounting duty was a breeze! =)

Oh.. before we dismounted from duty, we had to attend the FDC trainees' Passing Out Parade (POP)! They all seemed so happy to POP, but wat they never koe is tat they are abt to bear a heavy responsibility to protect the airbase!.. and of course, there are bound to be real terrible times (eg: kenna scolded by the upper management ppl or they impliment things becos some things happen, and the ppl on the ground needs to comply to it even though they dun like to!).. but not forgetting tat they are also gonna make some really good friends.. so ya.. so here's from me wishing them, "ALL THE BEST! Take care!! =)"

Went to AMK's S11 to buy fish bee hoon for lunch.. saw Ivan Jr & Damien (the PLAB attached guys to our shift!).. so ya.. quite a coincidence!

Came home and ate lunch.. watched my taped programmes, bathe and now on my blog writing this blogpost lah!

Been surfing other ppl's blogs lately and realised tat they have used photoshop to put up their photos on their blogpage, and I muz say its very nice! Never mind.. my next few photos would be posted using photoshop.. so ya.. muz learn.. muz beautify my blog mahx! Ha.. can't lose to other ppl! =) If you all dun koe wat am I toking, nvm.. you all wld koe when the time is near! =)

Oh.. I bought this new book, "Private Parts & other play things" by Michael Chiang (costs $13.55), frm MPH the other day when I went out with Boon Sen! I always wanted to get this book in my hands! Cool sia! Its actually a book of 6 plays (with all the scripts inside!).. quite cool! =).. I'm reading it once I have the time! =)

I'm OFFICALLY employed!!

Woohoo! I'm officially employed.. and you koe wat this means? This means tat once I ORD, a job wld be waiting for me.. so ya.. =).. read on to find out more! =)

Well.. I have been really busy over the past few days! And yes, I did not booked out for the past 3 days.. this is due to some reasons which I cant say in this blogpost.. so ya.. But wat I can tell you is tat I have been mounting duty non-stop for these 3 days, and its not really physically torturing, but its more of being tortured mentally, due to not enuf sleep and stuff and at the same time, have to do duty.. so ya.. The past few days has got to be one of the worst mountings I had..

But one thing did really spur me on to carry on doing my duty despite my tiredness, and tat is I got a call from my company to say tat I'm successfully employed, juz within 2 days after my interview.. Originally, they told me tat within 1-2 wks they wld give me a reply, and then juz as I left, the HR personnel told me this wk she would tell me a reply.. but never did I expect juz 2 short days after my interview, I was confirmed employed in Malaysia Dairy Industries..
(FYI: Malaysia Dairy Industries produces food products of the brand, Marigold.. they also produce Vitagen as well.. so ya.. )

Of course, I'm confirmed employed but not a confirmed staff, becos I have to undergo a 6 mth probation period.. so ya.. very long hor? Tats wat I also tot! In this 6 mths, I wld NOT be allowed to take any leave except on medical, legal or compassionate grounds.. sad rite?.. so you koe wat this means? I CAN'T go to my church's Youth camp which is in December.. haix.. =(.. Sorry Tjow & Carlise who are pining so high hopes on me who is hoping tat I wld be able to attend.. so ya.. but I can still do publicity though, and probably pop by in the evening, becos my office is so nearby! =).. so ya..

So today I went down to the company by cab and sign the employment letter, and of course, there is a whole lot of terms and conditions.. of which, the working hrs and salary section really interested me.. haha..

My working hrs are:
Mon - Fri : 0730 - 1600
Sat: 0730 - 1130
(Suns & Public Holidays NOT working)

My salary is stated as $1500 before all the various deductions like CPF & company's MVC ($1500 is my expected salary which I've written in my resume, and this is the market rate for Diploma holders - I found out from my friends in the market liaox!)
MVC (Monthly Variable Component) - This is an amt ( I think 3%) tat the company will deduct, so in the event tat the company cannot make money, they wld the MVC built-up fund and help to tide the business.. So in this way, the employee wld not need to be retrenched or have a pay/CPF cut.. so ya..

After the signing session, I went to City Hall MRT to meet Boon Sen as he wants to accompany me to take my sunglass frm YES! Eyeware stall.. so sweet rite? So ya.. so we took the shuttle bus from Funan area to Suntec..

The first thing I did was to go to Kuishinbo Restaurant to reserve a place for nxt Sunday (24/9).. becos you koe why? To celebrate my start of leave as well as also found a job! so ya.. can't wait for nxt Sun man! =).. Then the next day, I'm gonna for my KL trip.. then later in the week, got to attend my cousin's wedding at Botanic Gardens! Its super busy and eating and more eating.. ha.. =P.. I'm gonna grow fat! I think whilst the period after the wedding, I muz go and exercise.. either swim or run.. so ya..

Then after which, we went to Gelare and had the waffles (we initially didnt koe it at first its tues, half price for waffles.. then we see our calendars carefully, its tues.. so ya.. we had one each..).. I had the waffle with chocolate overload ice-cream and tat cost me only $5.50.. cheap rite =).. so ya..

Then went to walk walk and I actually wanted to go buy a Nike T-shirt, but then seeing the material was not worth the price, so I didnt.. Then went to Giordano, dun have clothing I like.. so ya.. Then went to YES! Eyeware & collect my sunglass, and to my surprise, the person (whom I koe and is the operations manager) came and find me and she told me tat they have changed a new set for me, becos the stocks juz came in, and its exectly the same.. so ya.. =)

Oh! I actually met my sec sch friend, Eugene Mah at my base today whilst I was on duty! It all begins like this..
I was doing the pass office duty and I knew from one of shift mate tat 2 new officers are newly posted into my squadron.. so ya.. then when they do a check, they told me that one of the new officers were declaring a contraband item.. so ya.. and so he came.. then I asked him, "Sir, can I help?"..
He stared at me for a while, and then he replied, "I want to declare this.. are you from St. Andrew's?"..
I replied (of course, I was filled with shocked becos its like this is so unfamiliar!), "Ya.. and you are..?"
He replied, "Eugene"..
Becos I koe a lot of Eugenes, I proceeded to see his nametag (particularly his nametag!), and I saw his surname, then immediately I knew who he was! so ya.. so I chatted with him briefly lah, becos the pass office is super busy.. I've got like 1001 things to settle in there (change pass, entertain phone calls, reply to pyset msgs, taking keys, etc) and I'm the only sole person doing it!.. so ya..
So its like today I have met with another lost contact sec sch classmate! Haix.. If only he could have been posted in earlier.. haix.. =(.. but its good to see another good friend of mine lah! =)

Anyway, came home and rested and then go for the employment letter signing and then to suntec.. Came home by MRT and then pack my bag for tml.. Tml is another mounting duty day.. haix.. sianx.. =(.. but never mind! I got real little duties left, so I'm like treasuring the remaining time I have in my shift.. =)..
Of course, there are some of my friends who finished their last duty today and they juz awaiting their IC.. so ya.. really envy!
Of course, I koe of some ppl who are going to ORD liaox (not yet last duty!) but have no mood to do duty at all, so they tried all ways and means to escape (NSFs shld koe wat I'm toking abt!.. hahax..).. but I for sure wont do it, becos its simply an act of dishonesty.. so ya..

Ok lah.. very tired! need to sleep.. got duty tml.. cya ppl on Thurs (14/9)..

My first job interview is here!!

Wednesday (06/09/06)

This is the first day tat I mounted duty with Shift 1 and I muz say its a pleasant experience.. Its like a totally new environment where last time in my GOH Shift is one man to oneself, but for Shift 1, its like they help each other in watever they do.. and you can see that Shift 1 is really united.. so ya.. so anyway, its quite comforting to koe this lah.. And I can safely say tat I DUN regret mounting or be in Shift 1 becos this is the kind of shift spirit tat I always wanted!! =)

I was originally slated to go to Eastern for duty but becos there were too many ppl going, so therefore I gave up my place to Samuel (my bunk mate).. see.. I so good rite =P

My duty for the day is like 8.5 hrs and in the day by 1300, I was done with my day duty and rested till the nite for my nite duty.. but of course, not before doing and practicing the various contingency drills.. so by the time the drill and debrief ended, its almost time for me to carry on with my nite duty.. Shortly after, I went down to another gate and do duty.. But its always weird.. whenever I'm in tat guardroom do duty, its always like always not enuf sleep though the resting hrs are the same.. so ya.. guess its not enuf oxygen in tat guardroom, so tat results in my tiredness.. haix..

Thursday (07/09/06)

Dismounted frm duty in the morning with a whole lot of debriefs and then dismounted duty with of course feeling so shacked!!

Then came home and once I stepped home, my mum told me tat my neighbour wanted me to help her in printing and editing her resume for her job application.. And so after bathing, I quickly settle it and she again told me tat she wanted me to go to her hse to see wats wrong with her printer becos it cldnt print.. so ya..

So there I did and I went to my neighbour hse.. 10 mins later, my mum picked up a call and said its for me.. And when I picked up the call, it was a pleasant surprise; the HR personnel frm Malaysia Dairy Industries (Marigold) called me and asked me when can I go for the job interview!

I was of course filled with shock becos never did I expect a job interview to arrive so fast.. and its frm the company which I had very high hopes of (stated in my blogpost on 02/09/06).. so ya.. so after much interaction between the HR personnel, I've settled for an interview at 1530 today!!

So when I first received the call, it was 1300.. and the worse thing is tat I have not change nor had my lunch nor prepare the important documents for a job interview - my portfolio (where I compile all my certs, etc).. so I actually had abt an hr to prepare and stuff.. at the same time, have my lunch.. so ya..

And of course I rushed my way thru and took a cab to the place.. by the time I reach there, it was only 1445.. and so I filled up the job application form (which took me abt 10 mins.. so many questions lah..), and then I waited and waited.. so whilst waiting, I read thru the part of my Industrial Attachment Logbook (esp. the dairy part!), becos I was afraid when they asked me questions, I dun koe how to answer! I wld think if I waited longer, I wld juz sleep lah.. too shacked liaox.. so ya..

And becos there was an urgent mtg, the HR personnel had to attend the mtg before she met me for the interview.. and by the time she met me, it was already 1630.. so ya..
So when I'm inside the mtg room, all sorts of questions/possible job scenerios were being bombarded "in front of me".. and the scariest thing is tat its not only the HR personnel is there, there is also the assistant production manager.. so ya.. so I muz be very careful with wat I say as well as the facts tat I told them.. so ya.. so there was a certain amt of stress.. there were a lot of "what ifs" in my mind; "what if I cldnt answer the questions posed to me?" "what if I say the wrong thing?".. etc..
FYI: If you are curious wat post I'm interviewing for, its actually of a post of Production Executive/Supervisor.. so ya.. if you want to koe the exact details, ask me then.. I dun wanna type it in this blog.. as well as I dun wanna bore you ppl =).. so ya..

But thank God, I'm able to answer all of their questions.. And I actually talk NON-STOP for the whole duration of the interview.. I talk until my mouth was dry lah.. so ya.. ha.. =P.. so by the time I was done with my interview, it was already 1730.. a solid hr of interview!! Power rite? ha..

So they say they wld give me a reply in 1-2 wks time, as to whether I'm employed.. so I'm of course anxiously waiting for their reply! =).. so see how lah!
If I'm employed, my first work day shld be 19/10/06 (a day after I take my pink IC).. so ya.. cool rite!

Then came home feeling real shacked, so I decided to take a cab home again!! so ya..

Then my mum was asking how is this and tat.. how the interview went and stuff.. so I told her lah.. after tat, eat dinner and then on my sis laptop, blogging this blogpost loh, becos I want to watch TV mahx..

Ok liaox.. gtg.. real shacked! need to sleep.. tml need to mount duty again and I wont be home till nxt tues (12/09).. so till then, tata and take care! =)

So sian...

Woke up this morning at abt 0830.. Brush my teeth and ate my breakfast..

Then read the newspapers.. Then I went to on the computer, and started to check my email, in the hope for some replies frm the companies tat I've give my resume to.. but to my disappointment, it did not happen.. all were junk mails.. haix..

Actually I'm supposed to accompany my friend to go extend his passport for an ORD trip, but no replies or confirmation for the whole day, so therefore I stayed at home loh!.. sianx..
Even Nat, Andrew & Ash (my church friends) wanted to make ask me out for some gathering, but I rejected them becos I'm one who keeps to promises (ie, I agreed to go extend his passport with my friend).. but who koes.. he stood me up.. haix.. I know I shld have gone gather with my church friends.. haix..

Then becos I was so bored, I went online and search for "Army Daze" on Youtube and of course, I watched the whole show!
As I watched the show, it really brought back a lot of fond memories when I entered BMT abt 2 yrs ago! I cld identify with most of the scenes tat they portray in the short movie.. This movie was filmed in 1996, and I'm sure when I first watched it at 1996 (I was Primary 6 then!), I didnt understand anything.. so ya..
So actually if you were to ask me, the time when I was in BMT is the time where I really enjoyed myself the most in NS!.. Though it was the worst time of my life, but come to think back, it was really an enjoyable ride! Sometimes I really wish tat the moment of being in BMT could stood still!.. haix.. really miss all my section mates in BMT.. haix.. but well oh well, life has to go on.. so ya.. =(

Ate lunch and watch TV for a while b4 I went to my computer and check my email again but to no avail.. so ya.. haix.. Then I off the computer and settle some of the admin stuff which I always wanted to do but no time.. I also wanted to pack my luggage for my ORD KL trip (happening on 25/9-27/9), but was not able to in the end, becos of unforeseen circumstances..

As some of you koe, my sunglass has gone back to the optician shop (YES! Eyewear) for 1-1 exchange/repair, due to the discolouration of the lens.. so ya.. and it has been a week but still no news frm my optician.. so I called and asked and found out wats the problem..
They told me tat the manufacturer has actually no more stock for the particular type of lens, so they need at least 2-3 mths to import the lens frm Italy.. so ya.. So they gave me 2 options.. either I wait or go change another pair of sunglass either of the same value or higher, and if higher value, I juz have to pay the balance.. so ya..

So after consulting with my mum to see wats the best option, I've decided to go down and change.. so I asked Boon Sen along to help me choose my sunglass.. and surprisingly, Boon Sen, accompanied me with no complaints/questions asked! Thanx Boon Sen =)

When I went there, I looked for my opticianist and she told me some inside info tat the new stock wld be coming this fri.. so ya.. so she advised me to wait till Friday and then see how.. so ya.. so I agreed loh..
So you can say I went there to waste time lah.. ha.. but at least I get to go down to the shop and got some inside info.. ha..

Then after which, we walked ard the vicinity (Raffles City, Citylink, Marina Square & Suntec City).. and I wanted to buy Dick Lee's CD, so went to few stores to check out the cheapest lah.. so we are walking ard the 4 shopping centers stated above, and then we found tat $18.90 at Sembawang Music Centre, but there was no more stock.. so I have to settle for the 2nd cheapest, $22.90 at That Cd Shop, Raffles City Shopping Centre.. so I decided to test listen the CD, but to my disappointment, it was not as good as I tot.. haix..

Then seeing it was late, Boon Sen & I went on separate ways.. I walked back to Suntec whilst Boon Sen took the MRT home.. I actually wanted to take the MRT but felt tat the bus is better becos dun need to walk so much, but I was wrong! I needed to wait like 15-20 mins for my bus and it take 1 whole hour for me to reach home (which usually needs only 30 mins..).. haix.. I almost died of boredom on the bus lah! The space between each seat is so narrow somemore.. If I were to sit any longer, my legs wld get numbbed!.. haix..

Then came home eat dinner.. bathe and then start to write this blog loh.. Tml gonna go back camp and mount duty with my new shift and a new officer.. so ya.. juz hope tat nothing really crops up tml and tml wld be a good time of mounting lah! so ya.. =).. Hope I can get along with my new shift too.. so ya.. =)

So I guess ppl, I need to log off and sleep now.. too shacked! Need to wake up at 0530 tml.. sianx.. so I shall cya ppl on thurs ya.. =).. and yes.. I think thursday I'm going to pack my luggage (I hope!.. haha)

I'm tired...

Sunday (03/09/06)

Woke up super shack this morning but still have to go to camp for P1.. sianx..

Anyway, I was half-awake thru'out my whole journey to camp.. but when I reach camp, I had to walk the road up to my camp which can easily take up to 15 mins walk.. So ya.. So I did walk up but somehow, it felt different! The walk was so enjoyable tat I wish the time wld just stood still.. Becos I was listening to the International Channel (96.3FM) and it played a mix of kazz and new age music, so tats why I felt this way la..

Came up to bunk and only to be told the news tat I have to do dismounting duty for the dismounting shift as they dun have enuf ppl.. so ya.. felt a bit angry lah but wat to do?.. so ya..

So once I'm in bunk, I took out my entertainment stuff (like newspapers and magazines) and juz read till I felt sleepy.. So when I felt sleepy, I sleep loh! SO today in camp is practically eat and sleep.. And oh.. for the first time in my weekend P1, I actually watched a DVD movie.. so ya.. it did kill my boredom for a while lah.. so ya..

Lunch was good at Cookhouse becos for the first time, they actually serve Taiwan Sausage.. wat a miracle! After lunch, its back to bunk and its watching a movie and then sleep again!

Then woke up and go for dinner @ Cookhouse.. This time, its not as nice as dinner but oh well, still eat loh..

Came back bunk and then watch TV loh.. Oh.. I enjoyed the President's Star Charity Show very much.. so ya..

After the charity show, I went to sleep and prepare for tml's P1 duty.. sianx..

Monday (04/09/06)

This morning woke up like at 0600 to wash up and freshen up and stuff and man oh man.. super sleepy loh.. but still have to wake up and go do dismounting duty at Guardroom.. sianx..

At 0815, we P1s pulled back frm duty and we went up to bunk and then booked out for the day.. so ya..

Came home and then check my email, as to whether I got any response from any of the companies tat I send my job resumes to, but then to my disappointment, none came, not even Marigold (which I had so much high hopes for!).. haix... sianx..

Then ate lunch and then really sleep from 1300-1600.. never did I felt so tired before.. after I woke up, check email again for reponses, but haix.. none came.. never mind.. I wld wait patiently! juz hope some companies reply lah! so ya.. haix..

Off my computer and then eat dinner..

After which, watched TV and guess wat.. I saw the news tat Steve Irwin of Animal Planet fame, actually passed away today due to a stingray who pierced his heart.. He left behind 2 kids and his wife.. So sad.. He died at the age of 44 yrs old.. so ya.. but its quite ironic isnt it? All the poisonous & dangerous stuff (like lethal snakes and crocs), he seemed to have a way with it, but stingray is not like very dangerous, but yet he still kenna.. haix.. but well.. guess tats wat life is all about! Real sad huh.. I feel so much for the children.. one of his child is only 8 yrs old, and is fatherless.. poor thing! =(

Then now, I write this blogpost loh.. and surf the net for a while before I go sleep.. but sleep wat time, I dun koe.. becos I feel so awake lah! Moreover, tml off, so I can sleep in..

I think tml I off rite, I'm gonna pack my luggage for my ORD KL trip which is in 22 days time, becos I koe for sure tat if I dun pack now, when the date draws nearer, I wld not have the mood to pack.. its like a sudden surge of laziness! ha..

My NSF days are numbered!!

Hey! You all koe sumthing? I'm actually now a member of MacDonald's! Ha.. unbelivable rite? I actually got nothing to do, so I join loh.. so guess now I'll have free meals frm Mac.. ha.. =P..

Anyway, woke up like at 0830.. And becos its a Saturday, there wld be usually job ads tat I look out for.. I was abt to give up hope in looking for a job becos the search has been futile for the past mth or so.. There was not a single food industry job anywhere la.. but then I decided yesterday to like take a look.. and low and behold, the first page has a job offer and its frm Malaysia Dairy Industries (who is responsible for the brand, Marigold).. Almost every criteria they state on the job specification fitted me so well.. so ya.. Quite happy.. so I did send my resume to them and my highest hope of getting employed rite after my ORD lies in them lah, becos they actually sponspred me $200 cash upon poly graduation as I was the best student in a subject called, "Product Development & Marketting".. So now you all koe why the biggest hope of me being employed is there? =)

After tat, its time for lunch and my mum went downstairs and bought it.. Quite nice actually.. probably I was too hungry!

Went to church with mum in cab.. When I reach church, saw Alvin.. Chatted with him lah.. Then soon, one by one, I started to meet familiar faces of my church youth grp, Generation Joshua, ppl like joshua, ash, nat, mok, jeremy, jaslyn, ryan & cat.. Then soon the adults came to me and they was like, "finally you appeared! [FYI: I MIA-ed frm church for abt 5 mths, due to NDP rehearsals and stuff!] So when you ROD?" Then each time, I had to correct them tat it is "ORD" instead of "ROD".. so ya..

Then joshua was telling me tat he got further reporting frm MINDEF to go for an NDU audition (NDU are the commandos of the sea.. In fdact, they have even the worst training than the commandos).. so Josh was like teling me tat he gonna "keng", but to his despair, ryan (who is a regular officer) told him tat he may still have the chance of entering NDU.. so ya..

Oh.. I had a pleasant surprise when we was abt to leave the church building for dinner.. My bro, Andrew, came and I was of course happy becos he told me earlier tat he wld not be comingbecos he had to do his assignment.. so ya.. but then, he appeared at the last minute.. so of course, I was happy lah! =).. So he joined us for dinner too.. so ya..

Church went on fine then a grp of us (andrew, alvin, josh, ash, nat, tash, hannah & myself) went to Cuppage Terrace to have our dinner.. Ate Yong Tau Foo for dinner.. Very cheap somemore.. 7 items with rice only cost $3.. Ate durian ice-kachang for dinner which Nat also ate it becos its his fave too!

After tat, we went up to Cuppage to meet the adults.. We went there to hitch a ride frm the adults to go to Tjow's dad wake which of course was a shocked thing to my whole church becos he was fine last week!.. So this wk he's passed away and of course its saddening lah.. Haix.. Guess life juz have to go on for Tjow since now his dad has passed away.. Now he have to juggle and manage himself, to be a good husband as well as a good father.. so ya.. poor thing.. it muz have put a lot of stress in him.. haix.. so ya.. of course like all wakes, I paid my last respect and man of man.. As I approached the coffin, I had this weird feeling tat my heart is really heavy.. I dun koe why.. But surprisingly, I didnt cry which I tot I wld.. so ya.. ha..

Stayed there till abt 2300 and Carlise gave me a lift home.. so ya.. While at the wake, I actually mingled with my Youth group further and we juz chat anything under the sun. So by the time I reach home, it was abt 0000 liaoz and by the time I sleep, its already 0030 and I have to wake up at 0530 to go back camp for P1 tml.. sianx..

This week is Soul & R&B theme week.. some of the songs were nice, whilst some of the songs, I dun koe wat they are singing, but its a minority few lah!

Oh.. Jon's performance is the best! He sang "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole.. best! But he sang all the oldies this wk! Quite a refreshing change.. Oh.. Ken Lim (one of the judge) commented tat "Unforgettable" was Jon's best performance! so ya.. =)



Joakim Gomez is the latest contestant on Singapore Idol to be voted out!

He sang "Cherie Amour" by Stevie Wonder & "I Don't Want To Know" during the "Soul & R&B" theme for this week's Spectaculars Show (which happened last Wednesday, 31/08/06).. But I felt tat this was his best performace.. so ya..








But an interesting sight though.. As the cameras zoom into the judges after the credits roll, you can actually see the judges, Florence & Jacintha, having teary eyes!

But I like wat Joakim said in the end.. He said, "I'm glad tat I have given my best performance to the audience, and now, I can make my diginified exit".. so ya..

Feel so happy tat Joakim is thinking this way loh.. And yes.. My fave, Jonathan Leong, is still in the competition.. so ya.. Will continue to support him loh..

Oh.. did I told you all tat Joakim is joshua's (frm my church) primary school schoolmate? Best rite.. ha.. interesting..

My GOH journey (17/02/06 - 01/09/06)

Well yes! After close to 6-7 mths of countless amt of sweat, remembering each command given and executing them sharply, and not forgetting the scolding by the RSMs, my GOH journey for 2006 has officially ended today (1/9)..

Its a bit sad for me lah.. I really dun koe how to explain.. its juz.. unexplainable! so ya.. but then again, with this ending of this GOH journey, you all koe wat this means? I have to go back shift and mount duty! Sianx.. -_-|||

And I wld definately miss all the new friends tat I've made in my GOH journey over the last few mths, namely they are, Ann Tat (my best GOH buddy - frm CAB), Jason (frm CAB), Cheeyong (frm CAB), Boonkian (frm CAB), 3SG Joshua (frm CAB), Weixiong (frm CAB), Ernest (frm TAB), Noel (frm TAB), Junyong (frm PLAB), George (frm PLAB)..
And of course how could I forget tat its in this GOH journey, tat I've met my secondary school friend (Zijing frm TAB) whom I've lost contact like for abt 4 yrs, and this is actually a chance meeting as well.. so ya..
Thank you guys for making this GOH journey such a memorable one for me.. I would not have pass thru this long period of 7 mths so easily without you guys.. The laughter, the crap and the s*it we gone thru each wk together during rehearsals are definately dearly missed.. Gonna miss ya all so much.. *sobs*

I would also like to thank my GOH shift sgts (namely, Sgt Zhiwen, Sgt Yifu, Sgt Weiming, Sgt Wenjie, Sgt Kunwei & Sgt Stanley..) for also making my GOH journey a memorable one.. Though you sgts have gone on separate ways (either mount duty with different shift or becoming Course Instructors), but you ppl have actually made my GOH journey much more meaningful.. I remember the times where we mounted duty together and stuff.. so fun.. haix.. but guess all good things must come to an end.. so ya.. haix.. sad..

Last but not least, I would also like to thank my GOH shift ppl for making this experience a more meaningful one.. If without you guys, I think I would just die of boredom in the GOH rehearsals lah.. Though sometimes you guys get on my nerves by all the things tat you've said, but I koe tat its all in the name of fun!.. so ya.. Dun blame you all lah.. Thanx again for all the fun and memories! =)

Today's RSAF Day Parade is a total failure.. here's why..

(1) 1 sgt frm Paya Lebar Airbase (PLAB) fainted whilst we observe a minute of silence! And the worst thing is tat he is a GOH personnel and in the FRONT row somemore.. haix..
(but I heard he fell face-down and hard somemore.. I think his face sure 'buang' already..

(2) When my GOH contingent came in, some of them (including the front row) march wrong hand wrong leg (ie, ppl march right leg, they march wrong leg).. According to them, they said the band suddenly change rhythm, so tat explains their wrong steps.. so ya.. But to me, I have no problem! In fact, I didnt even notice tat there was a change in rhythm.. I juz march loh.. and when I see ppl march wrongly, I opened my mouth and gave timing.. so ya.. then most of them ok.. so ya..

(3) The Parade RSM at times march wrong leg too when the Colour Party was forming up for the march past!

(4) 1 personnel frm the supporting contingent also did faint despite the Chief Warrant for RSAF told us tat there should not be anyone faint in the Parade.. so ya.. but you see.. this still happens..

(5) When we went there, we had the sadistic reserve Parade RSM to march us on the spot (aka henta-kakki) for our component training.. he claimed tat it is warmup.. but prior to tat, we had abt a min of henta-kakki too by the Parade RSM which he claimed tat it was warm-up too.. so ya..

(6) During march past, I almost forgot to tilt back my head after the command was given.. I actually was slower by 2 secs.. Wonder anyone saw it? hmmm..
The reason why I was slow is becos I was concentrating too much on the keeping distance between the Colour Party and my GOH contingent.. so ya.. Of course, there were photographs taken of me as well during the march past, so it felt quite good lah.. so probably tats why I didnt tilt my back in time lah!

(7) This morning, after I put my contacts in my left eye, and it appear tat it didnt fit right well.. so I took out, and guess wat.. I was so surprised tat my contacts tore.. I was shocked! But fortunately I had an extra pair in bunk.. so ya.. So manage to settle it lah.. Thank God! =)

Haix.. this is one of the worst Parades lah.. disappointing.. my last Parade becomes like tat.. sianx..

After drill, came back to bunk and go to Cookhouse to eat lunch.. After tat, bathe and then pack and bring back watever stuff tat needed to be brought home (becos going to ORD liaox mahx, so need to bring back some stuff which I dun need..).. but of course, not all.. I'm only abt 3/4 done!! So ya.. the rest have to be brought back when I start to clear leave.. but now, my bunk cupboard is like half-empty liaox and my drawer is like super light becos of the sound when I close it.. Last time it didnt have such sound loh.. so ya.. Juz realised I got loads of stuff which I didnt use loh and its like rubbish loh.. haix..

Shared cab home with Boon Sen becos the stuff are simply too heavy liaox! Imagine me with 2 full bags and my No. 1 uniform.. My shoulders almost broke lah, becos of the weight of the bags.. so ya..

Reached home.. I on the computer and then now blog loh.. so efficient rite.. haha.. =P

Ok lah.. gtg liaox.. Eat dinner and later attend cell grp at my house.. so ya.. So tml I'm on off.. so can sleep in again.. Yeh!! =).. Cya ppl tml loh!

** I'm still counting down the days LEFT to serve.. its 48 DAYS to ORD!!
