12 hrs later...

Yupz.. its another day and I bk out today, but ONLY for the nite.. haiz =(.. bking in later before 2230, becos' tml have SAF Day Parade Rehearsal frm 8am-7pm.. Argh.. another tiring day! no sleeping at home tml again, becos' I P1 tml.. haiz.. =(

Today practically slept in bunk the whole day.. becos nothing to do.. except tat I did some area cleaning, which was some sort of 'extra', becos I'm like the ONLY one who clear the bunk and stuff.. the others are either not in becos' they mount duty, etc or they went for other parade rehearsals or they went to toilet to chao keng, like my friend, who went toilet and do his business!! he really koes how to "smoke out".. argh.. anyway, I'm quite pleased with myself lah, becos' finally the bunk is of some standard now tat its so clean.. so happy.. sorry for being so thick-skinned.. but wat to do??
"Guys have to be thick-skin, so tat gals will like them!"

Guys and gals, dun u think I've said it right?? ha.. =P

Ok lah.. nothing else liaoz.. except tat I've improved my radio thingy in this blog.. which is to say if u have realise, I've added a console for this radio thingy.. so if u want to stop it, juz click the stop button and it will stop.. but if u want to restart, pls. wait for abt 5-10secs, before u will hear anything.. it needs time to start! so ya..

ok lah.. I've got to go and bathe before going to AMK later to meet my friend for cab! Man.. I'm totally broke.. God, pls. throw down money from heaven?? ha..

Ciaoz n have a GREAT week ahead,

7days = 168 hrs = 10080 mins = 604800 sec

Yes.. tats how long I've stay in camp and NOT bk out!!

The reason is very simple!! I've got a base exercise and this is an Air Force thingy.. so every air base and every personnal is involved!! For us, we are in charge of security, so therefore, instruction has been passed down by our superiors tat NONE of us are allowed to bk out before fri (so this means only sat then can bk out).. but then, sat I kenna P1.. so which means tat I juz bk out this morning!!

Its been a tiring wk.. becos' not only we are doing our rehearsals for the various events (BOTH SAF & NDP which I'm involved in!).. and its tiring.. becos' the rehearsals are like back to back.. sometimes the rehearsals are whole day, and then the next day is another whole day rehearsal!! see how shag we are!! not to mention tat the only day which I did not have any rehearsals, is used to run "charlie" - which means tat there are simulation injections of intruders, etc into our base and we are to do the various drills which we are thought, to combat the various situations which were posted to us.. not only we do drills, our duty hrs also increased quite a fair bit.. did 16hrs of duty altogether compared to the normal 10hrs on non-charlie days.. and 80% of the time, I guard the main gate.. see this properly!! my first duty for the day was to stand gate and it started at 4.30pm.. but I did NOT dismount frm the duty till 10.15pm at nite! Had a 15min dinner break at 7pm then went back to stand again!! the reason y i stand so long?? my sgt forgot all abt me! haiz.. no choice.. had to "lan lan suck thumb" - which means tat I have no choice but to wait for further instructions or a replacement come and replace me!! If I had NOT speak into the pyset for something, my sgt wld NOT remember me tat I'm still standing gate..
Then the next day came where I stand gate again.. this time, I stand frm 7am-11am.. another 4 hrs.. shiong rite.. then I do checker duty (whose duty is to check EVERY car before they are allowed into the camp!) frm 1pm-5pm.. was suppose to change duty at 3pm.. but then, suddenly drill activated.. so no choice.. since I'm there, I had to continue, becos' no one takes over me and I'm not allowed to leave like tat.. moreover, the other shift said we have enuf ppl, so therefore, they did not come to guardroom and help us! When I heard this, I was very upset and angry becos' 2 days b4, after our drills, we went to guardroom and help them till 7pm, then we went back bunk and rest b4 having drills the next day again.. n now they say they dun help?? can u imagine how upset and angry I am?? haiz

speaking of the rehearsals, for the SAF Day Parade, I was re-sized and I wld be in the front line.. I tell u though its of great honour, its stressful, becos' the audience are looking at you and during the rehearsals, the RSMs are looking very tightly for the front row n the drills of the front row ppl muz be near perfect.. so whenever I see the RSMs, I wld get very anxious and sometimes as a result, I can't execute the drills well and sometimes, kenna scolded by the RSMs.. haiz..
We had our lunch and dinner at SAFTI MI; the food there is so-so only lah.. but at least better than wat I had in base!

then for the NDP GOH rehearsals, it was ok... this time again was combined with all the various contingents (ie, PAP, MOH, BB, etc..) marching, but dinner was NOT KFC unlike last wk.. this wk's dinner is supplied by Singapore Food Industries (SFI) and its a western dinner.. but the servings are quite small.. therefore, dun really feel so full after eating it!.. but no choice..
had quite a few full run thru, thereby resulting, I had an abrasion patch (due to the continuous marching and wearing a sweaty uniform which therefore when marching, it wld "stick" to ur skin and rub against it, therefore, resulting in abrasion patches) near my armpit.. now not so bad liaoz.. yesterday so pain sia!

oh.. before I forget, you wld have realised tat I have changed my normal mp3s to a radio station (Class 95FM).. well.. found this frm sumone's webbie and I 'kope' the html code for this.. now feeling so happy!! becos' this is one of my dream lah.. having a radio played in my blog! In fact, I can change into any stations I want.. well.. if u want to koe more, feel free to email/SMS/call me on my hp.. will be glad to tell u..

Want to say to Andrew, thanx 4 the effort u've help me this afternoon abt the playlist thingy.. but found tat this is better.. so I had to disregard ur playlist thingy and go for this radio thingy! Sorry ah!! but dun worry.. once I'm sick of this radio thingy, I will go for the playlist thingy! The playlist thingy is saved in my com.. so dun worry! =)
** For u readers out there who dun koe wat I'm talking abt, never mind.. u wld koe when u see sumthing different in this blog (ie, when the radio thingy is gone and it wld be back to the normal mp3 thing.. only thing, there is a playlist which u can choose song!.. sounds good? next time perhaps ppl!)

Also did some minor adjustments to my blog column (esp. in the Favourite Links column - did some clearing up and addition of links!)

ok lah.. I need to sleep liaoz.. bking in tml at 8am whilst the rest of the other base ppl (who are going for rehearsals too juz like me) are bking in at 10pm.. haiz.. NO WELFARE!! *grumps*

Cya tml and hope to see ur positive replies/compliments on my minor revamped blog!

Ciaoz n have a GREAT week ahead,

The OCC Family

The OCC Family @ Confirmation Service
Originally uploaded by jazzkool.

Well.. today had a busy day..

First thing in the morning, went to see my grandma at the Nursing Home which my family spend like half a day finding the place.. We actually make 1 big round, and we miss the signpost which show the direction of the Nursing Home (situated across us!) and in the end, we walk abt 2-3km and in the end, we took a cab to the place as walking back 2-3km is no joke.. I was all sweating over!! haiz..

So after seeing my grandma, we went to Tampines Mall to eat lunch.. I ate ka-plow (chicken/beef fried with basil leaves and serve with white rice & an egg; I chose beef!) and me being an avid fan of Thai food, its really yummy!

After which, we proceed to COR for witnessing the confirmation service.. was abt 30mins late.. but never mind.. as long as we are there, we make our presence known and its ok liaoz!
Quite a lot of ppl were confirmed actually!

The photo u seen in this blogpost is the confirmation photo of the OCC family.. see how big OCC is.. this is only probably a quarter of the ppl.. well.. I saw quite a no. of OCC youths at the service today and guess wat!! I was so happy to see them! hmm.. I'm missing them already.. =(

Psst! I'm in this photo! Can u spot me??

Well.. Matthew Tjow of OCC (whom I koe frm OCC) is getting married and he told me tat he wants me to play the piano for him.. I'm so honoured.. but the problem is tat I dun koe whether I wld be able to commmit, becos my schedule after NDP wld be reshuffled, and therefore, my shift may change.. so schedule at the moment is not fixed.. probably u can pray for me in this area of to see whether God wants me to commit and if the answer is yes, pray tat He will make a path for me! Thanx!

Today's sermon @ Confirmation Service was good, becos one thing is tat the speaker (Retired Bishop John Tan) is funny and another thing, it spoke abt faith, which I think it applies to me a lot during this period of my NS.. esp. both pending trials tat I had recently!
One thing he said and until now, I had not forget.. he said tat " WITHOUT FAITH, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD!"

He shared with us one testimony as to how he has experienced miracles in his life.. In a nutshell, here is the brief details of it:

He was at church and being a young priest and a husband of 3 small kids, his wife wld bring toys, etc to church, so tat the children wld not disturb the service.. but then, his wife forgotten all abt his things (ie, the bible, sermon notes and vespon) which is in the car boot and his wife juz close the boot like tat.. but worse still.. his car keys was inside the boot too.. so he of course panicked and went to a quiet corner to pray.. He prayed and suddenly, 2 images ppl start to appear in his face.. He looked for the 2 person, but was nowhere to be found! Soon, they walked in and he told them wat happen!

This man, who is called Jo, actually start to question when he told him his situation! But nevertheless, he wanted to trust and have faith, and therefore, he took Jo's car key (which was a Mazda key car) to open his car (his car was a Toyata Carina car) and surprisingly, it worked! Its a miracle!
Jo went ahead to try, but then, it can't open the boot! Isn't this a miracle?

yupz.. good testimony and sermon rite??

After the confirmation service, my family and I start to go off, becos I want to go shopping.. so I went to Suntec for shopping.. In the end, I've bought a Levi's 505 jeans which cost me in total of $71.50 (including alteration charge of $2).. well.. quite a good deal I muz say!

Tml I will cont shopping, but then, need to reach home early becos' I need to bk in before 9pm tml nite.. haiz.. sian ah!!

k lah.. b4 I go, I wld like to urge u to rate my music, as well as, click the link, entitled "Joshua Shen's Confirmation" if u want to see how the confirmation service is conducted, etc ya??

Ciaoz n have a GREAT weekend ahead,

I've changed!

Hey.. for u all ppl out there, if u are a frequent visitor to my blog, u wld realise tat there are a few minor changes to my blog.. can u spot them??

Just in case u can't, I shall end ur misery in telling you now:

- Added the no. 14 to my wish list!

- Changed my music of my blog!

So I want you to do me a favour.. Help me rate the music on my blog compared to my last music on my blog, entitled "Great Is Thy Faithfulness"..
1 being the worst, while 10 being the best! Appreciate it if you rate it in my Shoutbox!, so tat I'll koe whether I shld change back to another song or change it ya?? =) Thanx!

Well.. wonder why there was a change in song??

This is becos' today I juz changed the whole MP3 collection in my Nokia 6230.. and therefore, I listened to my MP3s on my phone the whole day.. I was taking every oppuntunity to listen them, and realise tat this song quite nice..

If u remember and watch a particular episode of Mr Bean (yes! I koe.. they kept repeating the episodes!), which Mr Bean actually visited the cathedral and he was singing this song, "Hallelujah" and at the last part, he wanted to end the song and he kept on singing the part "..jah" but the congregation on the other hand was hanging on the note, "..lu..".. Can u recall?? I hope I make it clear and not confused you!!
So I wld think tat this song on my blog was tat hymn! =)

ok lah.. rate my music ya..

Preparation for NDP 2005 GOH (Part VIII)

Allo! Its me again in cyberspace.. yupz.. today there is a rehearsal at Nee Soon Camp and a big one too! read it in this blogpost!

This morning bk in at 8.30am, which I was suppose to bk in before 9am.. Then, we change, draw arms and in the afternoon after lunch, we were off to leave for Nee Soon Camp in an SBS Transit bus!! I was a bit puzzled for the presence of the SBS bus becos' usually its an air-con coach, but my sgt told me its becos' its the organiser of the NDP who indent the bus, and therefore, since SBS Transit is one of the sponsors, therefore, we get to sit on an SBS bus..

so we reach there at abt 1.30pm.. only to see tat the sky has darkened with black clouds and minutes later, it started to rain cats & dogs with thunder and lightning.. so we waited till like 3pm, before the rehearsal started!

today's rehearsals are like a combined rehearsal of which ppl like the various uniform groups in sec sch (ie, NPCC, NCC, Girls' & Boys' Brigade, Red Cross, SJAB, Girl Guides, Scouts) and various organisations (eg, PAP & MOH) came for rehearsal, ie, marching..

so after 15-30mins of settling down and stuff after the rain stop, it was time for us to march.. so there we did.. we did 1 full sequence (except tat we did NOT do the feu du jour) and then the march pass.. but for the supporting contingents, after we march pass, they somehow do a surprise stunt.. which is quite interesting actually!.. find out on NDP 2005 if you want to koe it! =o)

Then it started to rain again! then we were all called to go into the shelter.. and we were each issued with a box of KFC meal as our dinner! Yummy! apparently, tat was our dinner.. we thought there is still one more full rehearsal after tat, but then, thank goodness, there was no more.. and tat was abt 5pm.. but one thing bad is tat we waited, waited and waited till like 7pm, then our SBS bus came to bring us back camp..

By the time we left camp, it was like close to 9pm.. and considering I bought dinner/supper becos' I was hungry, and when I reach home, it was 10pm.. real tired liaoz..

then now on this blogpost.. soon, i'll be on bed and ZzzzZzzz..

But I'm glad tat my next bk in wld be on Mon (23/5) nite before 9pm.. so gonna go out tml and go on a shopping spree.. yippie!! Tml also going to Main Church for confirmation service of my friend! =)

ok.. gtg liaoz.. gonna change the MP3 on my Nokia 6230.. its getting old! =)

Preparation for SAF Day Parade 2005 GOH (Part I)

The day started with me waking up at 4.45am (gulp!) and brush teeth, eat breakfast etc.. and we left camp on an air-con coach at abt 6.50am.. slept on the bus like for 30mins and then we reach SAFTI MI for our SAF Day Parade Rehearsal.. was expecting the journey to be abt an hour long, however, it only turns out to be 30mins.. so ya.. no choice.. woke up and went down the bus reluctantly..

This was my first time being in SAFTI MI.. and I must say tat it looks like a university to me.. particularly NUS! some of my friends say it looks like one of UK/US university.. well.. wat can I say.. except to say tat the place looks good, clean and big, becos' its where officers are trained! =)

So there we were at SAFTI MI with being the squash courts as the holding area! then abt 15mins later, we were ushered into the parade square.. when we first went there, we were shocked to see that there were I think close to 500 BIG moths all around the surrounding walls and buildings.. the concrete floor of the parade square were also filled with some of them.. and we were like trying our very best to aviod stepping on them, considering we were wearing drill boots (which were hard leather boots with studs and horseshoes below them which make a sound when u walk!).. I first thought those moths on the floor were dead, but apparently not! They were alive! The birds also had a feast on the moths! YES!! U've seen it rite!! BIRDS! They actually eat the body of the moths, leaving the wings behind.. so its quite disgusting becos' by the time we finish our rehearsals, some really gruesome remains of the moths' wings were like stuck to the concrete floor.. yucks!

We spend like 4hrs training.. and guess wat.. only for 5 basic moves.. they are:

- Marching in from form up area (FUP Area)

- March past the parade square

- Stand at attention

- Stand in at ease position

- Doing the 'homat' (which is the highest honour you can pay to sumone with ur rifle)

And of course, being the MPs (which is Military Police [drill unit].. whose drills are near perfect and this is becos' in camp, they have nothing to do except drills, drills and more drills.. so now u koe y they so perfect?) of course they are part of the GOH contingent.. but they do a different set of drills.. which is quite impressive, esp. the slow march! Its not easy.. but for us, its also not easy.. we have to do the 'homat' becos' not only the colour/flag party start marching in with the state flag and all, and the 'homat' is to salute the flag, we still hv to do the 'homat' till the MPs done with the slow march becos' I think they are so called the escorts for the state and regimental colour flags! so I think we will 'homat' like for close to 10mins.. this is darn shiong i can tell u!! your hands will start shivering..

As time passes, the place gets hotter and hotter, due to the heat emitted frm the concrete floor of the parade square.. moreover, we are wearing leather boots.. so its like my feet calling for help.. becos' heat is sumhow conducted thru the leather of the boots! Sweat start rolling down my cheeks.. but in particular for one (who is frm my base) actually fainted, becos' I think it was too hot and he had not enuf sleep/rest 2 nites before.. he told me he slept at 4am 2 nites before the rehearsals and woke up at 6am the same day.. becos' he was playing game)..
For me, though I had enuf sleep, my head was starting to ache and if I stand there any longer, I think I will fall like a dead cockroach.. serious.. my head was really aching at tat time.. no joke! So u can imagine how hot the place is!

After all these, it was time for us to leave SAFTI MI and back to our base! Waited like for the bus for abt 15mins (again, there was this delay of 15mins becos' of some miscommunication between the bus drivers!) and once on the bus, I start to feel sleepy and there.. I juz slept till I've reach camp.. juz like tat.. I slept.. Man.. wasn't it so comfortable to sleep! So u can see how tired I am after such a 4hr drill.. so now NDP GOH rehearsal really NO KICK loh! If u want to try the real stuff, SAF GOH is the way to go! =)

At camp, we ate lunch, send our arms and then we went for some admin time.. some went to bathe then sleep, while I actually polish my boots for nxt tuesday's SAF rehearsal at SAFTI MI again.. haiz.. then after which, I bathe and slept for an hour, b4 getting ready to book out!

Thank God tat I'm booking in tml instead of tonite.. but one thing bad is tat tml is another rehearsal.. NDP 2005 GOH rehearsal at Nee Soon Camp frm 2pm-7pm.. so by the time I send my arms at camp and bk out, it wld be close to like 8pm liaoz.. but thank goodness.. I've got a long wkend.. Only mon nite then bk in becos' tues morning, I've got rehearsal at SAFTI MI..

but then, I've got to run "Charlie" next wed (rite after the NDP GOH @ Nee Soon Camp and CANNOT rest/sleep till 4pm the next day (ie, thurs).. and then we rest, before proceeding to fri for SAF GOH rehearsal and then sat, we'vr got NDP GOH rehearsals.. its darn tiring I tell u! I hope I dun fall sick next wk.. if u can, pls. pray for my health for next week which is so shiong!

ok lah.. I think this is long enuf for a blogpost, considering I've spent 1hr on it.. believe it or not!

Enjoy ur long wkend while u can ya.. =)

Old Wives' Tale..

CAUTION: DO NOT READ THIS BEFORE OR AFTER MINUTES OF EATING!
VIEWER'S DISCRETION IS ADVISED!

Well.. have u ever heard an old wives' tale of when bird droppings drop on you, sumthing wld happen to you?? Well.. sum ppl said u wld be lucky and some said u wld have some misfortune!! well.. I dun koe which to believe, becos' for the first time in my 21 yrs in this world, I've got a bird dropping drop on me!! Yes!! bird droppings! Yucks!!

Was actually having some sports and games today at abt 3+pm at camp.. becos' now my OC enforce the thing by saying we have to follow the training schedule (which includes lecture and stuff).. so this means tat we can't sleep in bunk anymore during standby days.. considering tat only during our standby days are we able to rest becos' of the constant drill rehearsals of both SAF and NDP!

Anyway, on with the story.. but fortunately, it dropped on my thigh.. It was quite "fresh" in a sense tat its still dripping.. so its like I walk to the toilet immediately and it slipped off my leg and some drip into my socks.. I of course wash my socks very through.. and after I went up, I went for a bath, with using Dettol Shower Foam and scrub my leg.. eww...

Of course, my sergeants and friends laugh at me.. and of course I played along by saying, "let's go buy 4D.. sure come out one!" ha..

Haiz.. have to bk in b4 10.30pm tonite, becos' tml I will start my FIRST SAF Day rehearsal at SAFTI MI (which is near Jurong.. frm Sembawang to Jurong, its far!).. man.. will let u all in on the rehearsals when I'm done tml!

So shall cya in cyberspace tml again?? Tml will definitely talk abt the SAF Day rehearsals! =) so stay tuned ya..

Ciaoz n have a GREAT week ahead,

Preparation for NDP 2005 GOH (Part VII)

Well.. last min changes to this rehearsal to be in the afternoon from 1pm-5pm, compared to the previous rehearsals of 8.30am-12noon.. and u koe lah.. the sun at 1pm is so hot, and though we are under shelter, the place is like an oven! Darn freaking hot and humid!! man.. I felt like I was in a desert or some sorts! The worse was that there was not even a drop of rain.. haiz..

we first went to the Combat Enginneers' Parade Square (which is across the road) to do some warm-up revision drills.. I was feeling lethargic thru'out the drill.. then, during the break, I think I saw one of my BMT Platoon mate.. whom I stared at him and he stared at me for a while.. when I saw him, he looks sumwat familiar, but I didn't dare to confirm his identity.. I took abt. 5-15mins juz to recall his name.. and finally remembered his name! His name is Ong Soon Beng! I first remembered his nickname (which was "ah beng") then his name.. becos tats wat we call him during BMT!
At first I thought he was a private, but after seeing his rank frm a distance, I then saw his rank is a 3SG (3rd Sergeant).. then I finally remembered he went to SISPEC after BMT.. but of course, I did not say hi or anything like tat.. becos' its too late loh..

Then after the warm-up sessions, we went to the main parade square for a full rehearsal.. this time, the pri & sec kids of vaious uniform groups and the supporting contingents (Guards, Air Force, Singapore Civil Defence Force & Navy), start to come in and join in the rehearsals.. wow.. when we went to the main parade square and saw those small kids, all suddenly so motivated.. well.. u may think we are hum-sap (ie, perverts) or sumthing.. but for me, this is NOT the reason.. I suddenly felt so energised, becos' I've got this sense of pride in me to show them the best I can! so yupz.. tat is my motivation factor!

So the rehersals went on till like 4+pm, and it was end of my rehearsal and back to camp! However, yesterday was my P1, so therefore, I have to stay back in camp with a few others who are also P1, while the rest bk-out which they bk in this morning..
Was supposed to watch American Idol and the new drama on Channel 8 and plan to sleep at 10pm, but then, while watching, the fan kept blowing me and I was lying down to watch TV.. so like at 8.30pm, I felt asleep.. and didnt wake up till like 6am this morning..

The reason why I woke up so early, is becos' the P1s have to mount duty for a while in the morning! When we went there, the sgt was like a bit angry.. becos he thought we was late.. but apparently not.. becos' my sgt told us to be at the guardroom before 7am and we did.. in fact, we reach there at 6.58am.. so yupz.. so we explain to the sgt there and then, he was not so mad after all becos' its not our fault! So anyway, thank goodness the sgt gave me a so called 'slack' duty, which is doing main table (which I'm responsible for changing passes and stuff!).. the aircon in the main guardroom was so cold, then, smoke is emitted out of the aircon and guess wat!! I've got a slight frost-bite on my index finger.. tat's how cold!! I'm not exaggerating!

Anyway, read the blog above for wat happen the rest of today!

So read on...

Another day has gone past..

Well.. juz received some shocking news tat one of the Campus Crusade For Christ (Singapore) staff has gone home to be with the Lord.. I last saw him like a year back where he was diagosed with cancer.. and I thought everything was fine, becos' he was engage with a fellow staff shortly after he knew tat he got cancer.. and juz this morning, I've received an email saying tat he has passed away.. haiz.. Man.. life is simply unpredicable.. but nevertheless, GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS!! Amen! =)

Sad news aside.. today my mum woke me up late, and i was like rushing like mad to camp.. i was suppose to set an alarm on my hp for this morning, but my hp was charging and i off my hp (moreover, its in the hall and its definitely impossible for me to hear the alarm frm my room).. but juz as i was abt to use my the other non-charging phone for alarm, my mum came back and i told her to wake me up at 5.30am and she agreed!
Then, i woke up myself like 4.50am this morning to see the time, but saw tat it was too early and taking for granted tat my mum wld wake me up on time, i went back to sleep.. anyway, it was too early.. i usually wake up at 5.30am and then brush my teeth, ate my breakfast, do my QT and then bathe, before setting out of my hse and taking the first bus at 6.30am to Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange and take bus 169 to my camp.. so by the time i reach my bunk (which includes walking a distance which takes close to 10mins), its 7.20am. Fortunately, I've passed my IPPT the last time, so i do NOT need to take IPPT.. so can slack.. was having a stomachache all along since this morning.. thinking was my hungriness becos' never eat breakfast.. but it appeared not so.. err... ok.. shall not go into details, juz in case u had not have ur meal yet.. =)

today is like another stand-by day at camp, and of course, not forgetting sai-kang which all of us hate, becos' its simply letting us do work instead of letting us sleep and rest in bunk! haiz.. then, juz as i thought i was about to sleep, a sgt wld call my hp and ask me to go down and help.. arghh.. dun u koe how irritating u can be when u are abt to sleep and ppl call u to wake up and do work.. tat feeling is simply vexing! argh!!

then in the afternoon, was abt to do some sai-kang with my sgt (which i was instructed to do so obviously!) but then, guess wat! my PC called me into the office to assist him with the incident report (abt the jeep accident i had the other time).. and when i went him, he told me tat he needs another statement frm me.. but guess wat.. 90% of the time i spend in the office is juz like his personal assitant.. help him take the papers (which has the various reports he had typed) tat he printed frm the printer (which is like a few offices away) and look at him while he do the report.. and at the end of 1.5hrs, then he called me to sign the various papers.. a bit bo-liao rite?? i cld have finish doing the sai-kang n went up to sleep/watch TV for a while before bking out!! haiz.. but thank God, i bk out on time today lah.. so tat's not so bad!

Oh.. I'm looking forward for this wkend becos' it like a long wkend for me.. so guess wat!! I'll be going SHOPPING!! Yeh!! My favourite pastime of all time!! I dun koe wat i'll buy, but most probably apparels lah.. will tell u all more when i've bought the stuff =)

ok lah.. gtg and do other stuff liaoz..

Ciaoz n have a GREAT week ahead,

Tired!

Well.. within the last blogpost and this, the time period i mean, there is a lot of things happening.. haiz..

Well.. some of u u all koe something has happen to me again.. well. read my phlogger and u wld koe.. its regarding the same person and me again.. yes.. we had done it again =(.. well.. qutie lazy to type the exact scenrio, except to say that we ran into some accident (but it is NOT my fault this time!)and my superiors are getting a bit fuming mad... so yupz.. we did both incidents in the same week.. so there may be possiblity tat they may dig up the past incident and give me my punishments even heavier.. so wat i request is prayer tat I will either get NO or light punishment for both my incidents.. thanx ah =)

now then i koe how tired a 2 shift system wld be now.. becos' i juz did 1 myself.. its really tiring!! haiz..

the other day my PC (who is an officer) was a bit siao.. he said sumthing which he did not told us, but he insist tat he said it and we never follow instructions.. all of us at tat time did not dare to speak up, juz in case, kenna scolded even more and the speech backfired.. so ya.. later we told our sgt abt it and he said he wld talk to our PC.. dun koe whether he said or not??

juz finish my schedule for may-aug.. and realised tat frm now till NDP is over, I can't attend church.. not even a single week I'm free, becos' the wkends will be used for rehearsals! my goodness!! for a period of 3mths, i will NOT be able to make it to church.. haiz.. =(

well.. oh.. i think im gonna go to Fu Lu Shou Complex and buy satay later for dinner.. see whether im lazy or not lah.. becos muz go all the way to bugis leh.. take bus and all..

ok lah.. dun koe wat to say liaoz.. appreciate ur prayers!!

Preparation for NDP 2005 GOH (Part VI)

At the starting of this morning, its a WET, WET, WET day!.. I woke up like 5.20am in camp this morning and found out tat the wind outside is blowing so strongly tat I need a blanket to cover myself to the top of my body and then, realise tat it is raining as well.. Then I went out of the bunk to brush my teeth and I was topless.. so with the wind blowing, i tell u.. i shiver man.. its tat cold!

then we went for breakfast and in abt an hour's time, we were off to Nee Soon Camp for the weekly routine NDP 2005 GOH rehearsal! We thought there was no more rehearsals as it was raining, but our wish did not come true!!

Anyway, the rehearsal still carry on in the end.. and at last, the SAF contingent GOH is here.. this yr, the best combat unit wld be the commandos! so today, the GOH contingent rehearsal is FULL! we practice, practice and practice.. esp. the feu de jour.. we practice until our arms were aching and I've even see ppl shivering, as the position is at a very uncomfortable and aching position! It looks easy on TV but when u do it, it is NOT easy at all! Trust me!

Was suppose to go home after our GOH rehearsals but book in before 2359 tonite.. however, my OC dun allow.. OC dun allow never mind.. wat's worse is tat we went to mount for 2 hrs duty right after our rehearsals! It's suppose to be nothing done after our rehearsals as we were all tired out by the rehearsals, however, becos' its shortage of ppl and therefore, we are forced to help!.. But thank God, I've got Table duty.. so tat doing admin work (eg: change pass, etc.. <-- u may think its easy, but its not.. becos' u have to multi-task while in there! u sumtimes have to do 2 things at one time.. becos' there is only 1 person inside, and the person is me!)
But wat's good is tat my PC allows me to bk in before 0730 tml morning for duty tml.. shiong rite??
anywya, the bking in tml is to replace us the mounting time lah.. so this means i most prob have to take cab tml.. but nvm.. at least can sleep at home rather at camp!

k lah.. think i'm boring u now?? Oh.. how u like the song?? commends anyone???

Just another day..

Well.. first and foremost, i wld like to thank those ppl like Alvin & Andrew who has kept on encouraging me with encouragement SMSes regarding the issue! so ya.. thanx.. the issue is still pending.. so cont praying ya.. =)

Another thing before I forget!! I'm chosen for SAF Day Parade.. so its like 2 parade rehearsals which i have to attend.. haiz.. =(

Today at camp practically is quite slack.. except tat morning we do some fatigue work, becos' my camp say there is a high possiblity tat I'll be having a open mobilisation exercise this sat (14/5).. so most probably i can't attend church.. but I will most probably join my friends for dinner after my exercise frm camp.. i'll rush down! Alvin & Andrew, u reading this?? I'm doing this to be in ur accompany.. so u shld thank me huh.. ha.

Oh.. I've got to tell u this.. this CD I'm listening now, is so cool.. they really jazz up the hymns.. well, the CD is called "Hymns - A Place Of Worship" by 4Him.. you shld get the CD if u like jazz!! Definately u won't regret!! In fact, i think i'm going to upload it to my blog! I'm getting weak on my knees juz by listening to this CD!! In fact, the song u listening to rite now in this blog is one of its songs in it!! Nice?? Commend on it on my Shoutbox??

ok lah.. things have been going quite well today, except tat I have to bk in before 10.30pm tonite, becos' tml have GOH rehearsal @ Nee Soon Camp..

wat's worse is tat the next day (which is fri-13/5), i have to mount for duty, so this means tat I have to go back camp tml before midnight.. so ya..

ok.. gtg liaoz..

"Sway" to the core (Part 2)

Man.. its been the most horrible day I've had today! Some of you all had already know.. Here is the thing tat happened today:

This morning went on Jeep Prowl with my friend.. so after his journey, we both went back to camp! And there is this part where we reverse the jeep and by rules in the army, a ground guide shld be deployed and if there is no ground guide, the Vehicle Commander wld have to do the job of the ground guide.
So I was the Vehicle Commander of the jeep today, and when its time to reverse, i asked the driver as to whether he wants me to be the ground guide.. he says dun need.. so i was almost on the verge of taking off my seatbelt, when both of my superiors (the CO and RSM) then saw me do this and asked me to go over and question me this and tat.. I was tongue-tied for a while and both of them reprimanded me and the driver of course and they both called us to go and see them!

Then after we dismount, i told the driver to stay in bunk then when the mtg is over, my PC wld call to inform us.. Then my PC called us and told us tat they dun want to see us but he wants to see us.. he then beginning to ask questions with tat pissed off look on his face! He told us the verdict.. its either 5 days in Detention Barracks (DB) or 7 consecutive extra duties.. which of course, needless to say, the 7 consecutive extra duties is a better option.. but its NOT us to choose.. my CO wld consider it.. the 7 consecutive extra duties is my PC recommend becos' my CO asked him wat is he gonna do to us..

**DB is equals to a jail in a civilian world.. totally no freedom and u wld be despised by ur army mates when u out of tat place.. definately NOT a place you want to go.. but seriously, if the verdict is DB, i really dun koe wat to do.. i think i will suffer frm depression and stuff.. better get the SAF hotline no. ready.. I'm serious.. when the worse verdict is out, i really dun koe wat to do. Its not tat I dun trust God or stuff, but I'm juz preparing for the worst.. so there is this contingency plan!

Now, I request those of you who reads this blog to say a short prayer for me, tat God will show mercy and compassion to me to NOT allow me and my friend to go to DB! Will update u all as to wat is the final verdoct by my CO!! Pls. pray! Thanx =)

Oh.. i wld explain more my phlogger board.. well.. its works like blogger, except tat I do it in the SMS way and u can get instant/daily updates frm me provided I post them up in the plogger board.. so yupz.. if u want to koe more updates abt me, then look there and u wld find ya..

ok lah.. gtg liaoz.. Gonna do other stuff!

Happy!! Shalala

oh.. before u start reading, notice there is this phlogger board?? This phlogger board is something like a mobile blog.. instead of using the com to type my blog, i use SMS! Yes.. u see correctly... SMS!! yupz.. but i dun think this applies for other countries workers.. If u are Singaporean and u blog in Singaporean, u shld be able to get this phlogger board within abt a mth time!! it takes tat long to proceed even though its a Singapore server!
*PS: I've been waiting for this phlogger thing for like abt a mth.. at last its here!
but sumthing, i cant figure out!! Alvin, pls help! "Why the font size so big? can't seem to change leh"..
well.. this is a happy post.. compared to last nite's post!

attended church today.. feel so happy! but i felt a bit tired at church, becos' no time to rest.. juz dismount frm duty this morning.. so yupz.. came back.. ate lunch, went for a haircut, bathe and zoom.. i was out of the hse and left for church..

today's worship was not too bad.. becos' it focus on the 'worship' aspect of worship.. so everyone was in the 'worship' mood.. its these kind of songs which allow ppl to sing high praise.. as usual, i played some jazz chords in the songs tat i played.. a. eunice played the main piano as usual, and i played the accompaniment. quite nice i muz say.. oopps.. *thick skin*.. ha!

after service, helped andrew and the rest kept the equipments and stuff.. and b4 i knew it, the church hall was empty.. wanted to ask joshua/alvin where are they eating for dinner.. but then no one was there.. i have to msg.. juz as i was abt to leave downstairs for either cuppage/meridian, andrew and ashley called me.. and i followed them to find the rest of the youth for dinner..
ate the tender sliced beef korean set for dinner!! its ex sia! $7.50 per set!! not very nice also.. shld have taken the sliced pork.. at least got chilli.. the beef no chilli, so not very nice.. i need chilli lah!!

then when i went back, ashley and andrew were eating the same thing.. its chicken with chilli korean set! andrew then told me abt his chilli problem (dun wish to elaborate.. lazy to type..).. and during the meal, andrew, ashley and myself had a good time talking anything under the sun.. and with andrew around, talking rubbish was inevitable, and with him the talk-cock king, he makes both ashley and myself laugh sia!

Alvin sat at a different table but after his meal, he came over to my table (with ashley and andrew sitting) and chat with us loh.. also had a good time sharing loh..

Then Natasha Guow came.. we then start to tease her of the pens she has and how girls used these colour pens to write their notes, etc..

then my parents called and i have to leave.. haiz..

but this is one of the best fellowship dinner tat i had so far lah! =).. thanx andrew for the talk cock session.. hope to talk more cock with u in future! ha.

k lah.. gtg liaoz.. had a tiring and long day today.. need to wake up early later @ 0730.. haiz..
tML wont be coming back.. only coming back on tues!

Ciaoz n have a GREAT weekend,

Well.. guess wat!! yesterday during duty, juz got a msg from my friend tat I'm mounting duty on Fri (13/5).. so its like another addition!! i dun really koe the reason, but I'm real angry loh!! how can suka suka give us another additional duty?? its tiring ya koe.. then worse still, sun (15/5) still have duty but its our last duty!! hope its the last huh.. *keeping fingers cross*..

man.. this is tiring!! so my schedule for the week is:

Preparation for NDP 2005 GOH (Part V)

oh.. first and foremost, i wld like to thank 3notes for being my personal techie consultant and opinion person.. 3notes has definately given me much advice on wat i want to buy and stuff!! but after 3notes' advice, i decide NOT to buy a mp3 player or CD player.. may buy a TV and put in my room for my personal leisure.. see how lah! =).. thanx 3notes!

anyway, today is the usual practice at Nee Soon Camp.. except tat the best combat unit is still not here yet, and the navy contingent is somehow not present at today's practice.. dun koe y..

anyway, today we concentrate on the feu de jour (fires of joy) as a whole GOH contingent (together with the police).. quite tiring tough.. we do the same thing for 18 times and becos' of the angle of how our hand is placed and hold the rifle, after like 9 fires, ur hand wld start shivering and you wld start to feel the fatigue/strain in ur arm muscle.. and yes!! you've guess rite!! I've experienced it there and then! tiring sia..
its looks easy on the TV but its actually harder than it looks; a lot of hard work and its tiring!

after the feu de jour, we did marching (this time with the colour party: the colour party holds the flag and the colour party consists of officers and sergeants).. quite tiring becos' we had gone thru like 12 times of the feu de jour.. so the fatigue/strain in the hands has not really recover yet.. so ya.. but the marching was quite 'shiok' to see; dun really koe how to explain.. yupz!

well.. tat was wat the main thing we did today loh! quite tiring lah!

but further than this, i really want to vent my anger out on this blogpost.. so hope ya dun mind.. here goes..

I'm mad becos' i'm suppose to NOT have duty on fri (6/5) but becos' of my senior RP told my staff sgt tat they no long wkend (btw, they are suppose to mount on fri & sun.. but most of the time, becos' we GOH shift, will take over wkend duties.. so the most is either they mount on fri and got sat-sun off or sun mount and got fri-sat off), so my staff sgt agreed to their request.. Wat's the point?? They are ORDing soon in June..Wat's a long wkend to them?? This is imply unfair.. So its like we mount on fri (6/5), mon (9/5) and sun (15/5) (FYI: originally only slated for 9/5 and 15/5 duty.. and i was actually also slated to leave camp on fri [6/5] after 5pm and coming back on sun [8/5] before 2359)..

Then wat's worse is tat my sgt juz told us tat my grp have to do P1 (FYI: P1 cannot book out! muz stay in camp till next day!) this sun which is NOT suppose to be us becos' we doing tml.. and his reason is becos' its NOT fair for other group becos' other grp has done P1 during wkend while we have not done a single one.. but in fact, becos' of our schedule change, we are doing P1 on alternate fri which is also considered a wkend becos' only sat then we can go home..

now i'm extremely mad.. GOH shift good?? My foot!!

I got so angry with it loh in the evening when my friend told me abt it.. i was actually wanted to take cab home.. but one of my cab friends forgot to take sumthing.. so he went back.. so the othr 2 friends waited for him.. while i take the bus becos' the bus came first b4 he came.. i told them this liaoz.. i was really mad and need time to cool off.. and guess God answered my prayer by sending the bus first, so i cld take it.. no one else to bother me (FYI: My the other 2 friends cont. waiting.. i ask them to take cab but they dun want!).. so in the bus, i msg one of my close friends in camp (whom i've only known since my field defence course started in FDC, and we are surprisingly close rite now to the pt where we complain stuff to each other and share personal stuffs with each other and becos' we both are christians [he's catholic and im christian], we request prayers for each other at times.. ).. yupz.. at least there is sumone who can share part of my troubles/complains/hurt! i guess God has put me in this shift for a reason huh.. =).. if I weren't in this shift, i wld not have met this friend becos' last time we were not really tat close.. so in other words, i can say this friend is like one of my best friends liaoz!!

haiz.. tats NS for you huh..

will not be in tml, as I have to stay in camp for P1.. with me only time to blog is sat nite.. now, dun even koe whether sun is confirmed for my group to be P1.. if sun really P1, then its machiam like me staying in camp frm thurs-tues.. almost a week of not enuf rest/sleeping at home peacefully!

haiz.. ok lah.. gtg liaoz.. think i use too much computer until my eyes is real tired..

so i shall cya again when i cya??

Ciaoz n have a GREAT weekend ahead,

Get a life!

My mobile phone (Nokia 6230) has finally some life! Recently juz subscribed to M1's Sunsurf Mobile 10 Plan, where i juz pay every mth a cost of $10.50 for 5MB worth of stuff being downloaded into my hp, by means of GPRS..

How this works is tat, I've got another sim card (which is of course another no.) but activation and cost of sim card is free.. so this data sim card allows me to dl stuff frm some free sites which they give me.. im able to dl things like wallpapers (which is very beautiful i tell u, esp. those scenic ones) and some ringtones & sms tones.. very good stuff i muz say.. moreover, the SIM card is able to be pass around my friends for them to download (but i think its only free for M1 customers!).. so yupz.. if u get a chance to see me, ask me for my hp and i wld be glad to show u the stuff i've downloaded!! I'm sure u wld be amazed?

yesterday duty at camp was quite slack, as it was the weekend season.. we did 4hrs and rest 8hrs.. so definitely enuf rest.. but sumhow i still feel sleepy.. probably its becos' the more i sleep, the more tired i am! but well.. this is the life of an RP huh.. =)

well.. i'm quite tempted to buy a ipod 512mb shuffle for SGD $178.. hmm.. shall think more abt it.. muz think of the future to see whether this $178 is well-spent! see the following link for the info abt. ipod shuffle ( http://www.applecentreorchard.com/ipods.html).. maybe u can put ur opinions in my chatterbox or email me ur commends (you can do so, by clicking the link under 'personal stuff > email me').. so im waiting for ur email ya.. =)

hmm.. wat else to say?? except to say tat I'm so happy becos' my mobile phone so nice.. ha..

till we meet again in cyberspace

Tired..

well.. juz dismount today and guess wat.. in a few hrs time, im mounting again.. so yupz.. its a tiring thing!!

did quite few hrs yesterday but then, becos' i did mostly my duty in the wee hrs of the morning, so therefore, not really enuf sleep.. so got headache and stuff..

but did not care abt tat.. in fact, after i came home, shortly after tat, i went out with my family!!

and guess wat!! I bought Jay Chou's Imcomparable 2004 Concert Live CD.. which i did NOT imagine myself to do so.. I dun koe y.. i got influenced by my friend.. juz realised tat Jay Chou is a talented guy man.. he koes how to play the chinese bamboo flute (commonly known as the 'ti-zi'), piano, violin and er-hu.. dun koe wat else he koes.. probably his next best is writing songs.. this guy is multi-talented and probably is filthy rich now.. =)

well.. tats all abt Jay Chou.. learning to appreciate his songs as well as listening to Yes 93.3FM nowadays.. trying hard to adapt..

ok.. enuf abt Chi-na stuff.. now abt me, myself and I.. I also got a wild thought while mounting duty.. I actually wanted to try to put on contact lens on certain occasions, instead of my rimless spec.. sometimes, contact lens is much more convenient.. wanted to get a trial pair of contact lens but then, need to pay $40 for it becos' of the check-up and stuff.. maybe next time i will go.. not now lah.. =)..

wat's wrong with me these few days?? been changing a lot.. more concern with self-image now (probably become more vain.. ha).. hmmm.. self-discovery is the way to go??

ok lah.. got to log off soon and go and bathe.. its getting late..

Ciaoz n have a GREAT weekend ahead (while i mount duty tml..),
