A reflection of 2008!!

Year 2008 has been a year of many changes..

The main change was in my career, whereby I ventured into something totally new, and was so amazed at how God provided me the switch from Malaysia Dairy Industries (producing the home-grown brand, Marigold), to my current job @ Cerebos Pacific Limited (producing the even longer home-grown brand, BRANDS'), and has never failed to help me during my times of dire need. Thank God for this amazing opportunity, becos I definately know that this current company I am in, will definately not consider anyone who has lesser than a degree job, so for an only diploma holder with work experience, getting into Cerebos, is like a dream come true, becos I always wanted to do R&D.. so ya..
Praying that God will help me to excel further in this dream job of mine! =)

Next change was that I'm slowing moving into the "Apple" world, becos I'm now starting to appreciate Apple stuff, but not totally a converter yet, but am just amazed at how Apple helps all designers, and with my current position in my church, designing/publicity is one of my responsibilities, and as time goes by, publicising has becoming one of my developed forte.. so thank God for this talent too!
Its really amazing at how God has planted ideas in my mind to get a point across.. of course, consultations with my bro, Tjow, has also helped me to excel in this area.. so ya.. Thank you Tjow!!

** Picture on left: A mini "flyer" I've designed for the event, and spent only 30 mins to get this up! Not good enough actually, but I'm satisfied! =)

I think that should be all.. will have a power nap of about 2 hrs, before waking up, and joining some of my church friends for the annual countdown event @ Marina Bay!.. Woohoo~..
Oh.. before I forget or didn't wish you in time, Happy New Year 2009 everyone!!! Let's make year 2009 a better one!! *screams*

Time to sleep,

Sale islandwide.. Good bargains!!

** Photo on right: My new Timberland shoes!

Well.. let's just say that I have heavily shopping on alternate days; Friday (26/12) and today (28/12). Both were at Orchard area and City Hall area..

Went round to search for good bargains for nice stuff to buy (most probably for my outfit for the coming Chinese New Year).. and I'm glad I got some..
(Of course lah.. I'm the shopping king leh.. haha)

The adidas top (which I showed you all in my blogpost on 21/12), and my shoe (which is in this post) would be my outfit for my CNY 2009. What's missing is a bottom.. hmm.. let me see as days goes by (tat is when the current fall/winter season has gone, and the spring season is up), I should get my bottoms.. so ya.. I shall see how, and will definately keep you guys updated =)

I've got some really good deals at Robinsons too.. Got some stuff at really good discount prices... I saved quite a lot from it as well (becos of the tremendous discounts that they are giving), and furthermore I'm a Robinsons cardmember, so can save even more from there.. =)

Oh.. see.. talk so much, forgot to mention to you my shoes.. This shoe is slightly different.. the sole is mainly made from wool, and the leather around the shoe is soft-leather, so actually, even if I don't wear any socks, it would also feel good, becos its like you are wearing this super comfortable pair of shoes.. so tats how good it is.. I usually have this thing with not wearing socks whilst wearing shoes, but you see.. this shoe, I don't wear socks, I also feel good.. so you see how cooling this shoe is loh.. =)
Original price was $219, but it was on 30% discount, and I use my Citibank card to pay, which is a further 10% discount, so I only pay $137.97.. so if you do your math, it is a whopping 37% discount off the original price of $219! Good deal huh! =)

Ok lah.. back to work tml.. a bit the sianx, but oh well.. life has to go on.. so here's a lowdown of what I need to achieve in January 2009:

- To purchase a pair of bottoms in time for CNY 2009
- CNY 2009 goodies (Bak-kwa from Lim Hock Guan, Peanuts from Chinatown, Drinks from NTUC)
- Finding and booking slots for CNY Reunion Dinner 2009
- Dye & highlight my hair

Well, I think that should be all liaox.. you all enjoy, and I'll cya online real soon! =).. let's see if anyone is organising a party this NYE (New Year Eve)..

Shopping, shopping, I love you..,

My Christmas Lunch

Today's Christmas Lunch was spent with a few of church friends..
As part of my contribution, I made my famous French Onion Dip, and glad that most of the people at the lunch like it.. =)

The other food are also very good, but the lunch was like very late (ie. 1500 hrs to be exact).. so ya.. so it was more or less my lunch and/or dinner lah..

After that, had a good time of fellowship.. and man.. I was so tired that I just slept on the sofa.. haha..

Oh oh.. prior to the Christmas Lunch today, I went down to Plaza Singapura to upgrade my current StarHub setup box, to the Hubstation.. so ya.. quite bulky equipment, but very useful... haha..

Okay.. gtg and watch TV liaox.. took leave tml because its my mum's birthday.. so gonna go out and celebrate.. =)

That should be all then.. The weather for Christmas today is super nice and cooling.. very nice to sleep.. =)

Hohoho.. falalalala..,

My family Christmas dinner 2008

Today is Christmas Eve and my annual family Christmas dinner is not the usual Western affair.

This year we had it at Copthorne King Hotel.
Click here to check out more..
They got promotion for New Year Day as well.. if you are game to try the food, you can do so..
The food actually is not bad.. I like the desserts (particularly the kueh-kueh), and the prawn mee.. The chicken satay is also not bad =)

Well.. this evening I had one of the worse experiences in a cab.. here's what happened..

I told the cab driver Copthorne King Hotel, and the driver was like "where?"
I then replied Copthorne King Hotel, opposite Grand Copthorne Waterfront.

Then he drive off.. later when in CTE, he asked me, go by orchard or outram?
I said go by Outram.. then he said, Outram cannot go..
I then replied, "why Outram cannot go? Go by Zion Road, Great World City.. cannot go meh?"
(In my mind, I was thinking, "wah.. want to go by Orchard? So you can ke-toh my cabfare right? Because Orchard has ERP, whereas Outram [by the road we are going], don't have any!)

Then he keep quiet.. he drove, and then he was approaching Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, and then I asked him to keep right as he has to U-turn (becos the Copthorne King hotel is directly opposite Grand Copthorne Waterfront, and its so clear that its opposite becos I told the driver directly its opposite).. then he told me cannot turn.. must go into Grand Copthorne.. then I was like "orh.. ok.."
Then he stopped me just at the back lobby of Grand Copthorne Waterfront, and said "there.. King Hotel is here loh.."

I was super pissed off, becos one thing, I was hungry.. another thing is that as a customer, I tell him to turn right, he should listen to me, unless its really a different direction or there is no way..

I then didn't bother to quarrel with the taxi driver.. I just ask the taxi driver to stop, and told him that we will walk over.. I got out of the cab, and showed my displeasure by slapping the door.. not too sure whether its hard, but I think my family and the taxi driver can see my displeasure.. thinking of which, I should lodge a complain.. but oh well.. didn't think of it last nite..

Thank goodness the food was good enough to forget my cab experience.. or else.. my Christmas would be ruin.. haix..

Okay.. gtg and sleep liaox.. very tired..
Since tml is Christmas, let me wish you and your family a very blessed Christmas 2008 =)

Cheers,

The wedding dinner @ Raffles Town Club

** Photo on left: HCC unite!

Yes! I've been to the dinner of my godsiblings' wedding..

It was quite a good nite of fellowship, because I seen so many HCC (my ex-church) people, and its like what a good time to catch up!!

It has been like about 3-5 yrs since HCC disbanded and we all went to different churches.. so its like we have suddenly come back and meet together.. so its like a mini HCC all over again.. my goodness.. it felt so nostalgic!

** Photo on right: Joshua & me!

Of course, it is like a good time to also cam-whore.. and man.. thank goodness, I brought my camera or else it would be a problem to capture all these precious memories..

Well, not many people were present at the wedding dinner (ie. not as many as on Saturday itself), so its like a bit weird.. not so many people to talk to, unlike Saturday where I can talk to my ex-crusade friends.. haix.. so sad.. but oh well.. church company is good enough I guess. =)

** Photo on left: My fashion for the day! People say I look like an Oxford scholar.. hoho..

My fashion for this dinner was so last minute, and when I took out and wear my chosen clothing last minute from my wardrobe, I got a shock! I look so gentle.. machiam Fei Qu Qing.. hahaa...

Surprisingly, it looks good leh.. its been a while since I've dressed so decently..
I actually didn't spend much on my outfit tonight at the dinner.. I didn't especially buy new clothings for the occasion, because there was not many nice choices out there in the open market.. been trying to look for one, but there was none..
Anyway, don't have also good.. can save money. =)

What do you think of my attire? Tag it in my tagboard if you have further comments. =)

** Photo on right: The bridegroom, Derek (aka. my godbrother) and myself posing for a photo!

Well.. just in case you didnt read my earlier post, Derek and myself had known each other when I was in secondary school.. I was sec 1 and he was already sec 4.

After which, we lost contact for quite a while, before meeting each other again in Temasek Polytechnic..
I was the Applied Science school orientation leader, whilst he was the IT school orientation leader.. so ya.. tats how we met and caught up with each other, and then, exchange contacts and all..

** Photo on left: The couple pouring champagne..

Huimin on the other hand was my church mate.. She was like my dajie (which still now, she is my dajie!!), and we grew up in the same church..

Well.. until one day Huimin told me that she is dating Derek, and I was like, "dun tell me its the one that I met at Temasek Polytechnic and he is the one whom I always know, Derek Foo... and man.. it was true!

It was unbelievable lah.. so ya.. God really has a way between two of them.. so ya.. so really happy for them to get married.. truly a couple made in heaven! =)

** Photo on right: More HCC-ians unite!

This is the night where a lot of the HCC-ians unite.. Youths especially... haha.. a lot of catching up to do.. so ya.. but its really nice to be reunited again.. machiam some reunion.. haha..

All in all, the dinner was good but the fellowship was better! =)

Its been a while since we have such gatherings.. so I really wonder when would be the next one.. hmmm...

** Photo on left: In a topless car!!! Woohoo~

After dinner, my ex-church mate, Wendy, gave my family and myself a lift home, in her new Volkswagon convertible.. very nice I tell you.. the wind is super cool! And because I don't get a chance to sit in a convertible very often, I cam-whore a few shots and this appears the best.. haha..

It really feels to be sitting in a topless car.. the fresh and cool air just blows your face.. so shiok man.. I tell you..
You have to sit to experience it loh.. =)

Overall, tonight has been very enjoyable, in terms of food and fellowship! =).. but sianx.. tml need to work.. haix.. full day somemore.. haix..

Let me see if I can achieve anything at work tomorrow.. but I doubt I can.. wahaha..

Holiday mood mode already.. haix..,

The fruitful shopping trip

** Photo on right: Part of my shopping haul today!!

Well peepz.. Shopping has never been more enjoyable than today, becos' I got quite a number of stuff, and all at very good prices.. Let you all see what I bought:

- Aussino Quilt Cover (in photo): $65.00 (original price) - I paid only $58.50 (10% disc off original price becos I paid by my POSB Debit Card).
[Bought from Aussino]

- Microsoft Notebook Wireless Mouse: $49.90 (public price) - I paid only $39 (because I'm a member, and members only pay $39).
[Bought from Challenger Superstore @ Funan]

- Uriage Facial foam & Uriage Moisturiser: $67.80 (original price) - I paid only $54.20 (20% disc off original price as Watsons now has a 20% storewide discount).
[Bought from Watsons]

- Adidas Tee-Shirt (in photo): $62.00 (original price) - I paid only $55.80 (10% disc off original price becos I paid by Citibank Credit Card).
I fell in love with this tee-shirt at first sight.. Its the luminous green which has attracted me.. and its brown based.. simply beautiful! =)
[Bought from Adidas @ Paragon]

- AppleCare Protection Plan (in photo): $446 (original price) - I paid only $334.50 (25% disc off original price. Somehow Epicentre decided to have a 25% discount [without any obligations] and it started yesterday!.. I was certainly shocked and I actually asked the salesperson twice, as to whether I heard wrongly, because usually, they won't discount until so much.. but ya.. its really amazing.. Must really thank God for this!!
[Bought from Epicentre:Orchard @ Wheelock Place]

To end the whole evening, I gave my parents a treat at Sushi Tei @ Paragon, and I simply love the Yuzu Sherbet (which is a pomelo and orange zest sherbet!).. it is so good and refreshing..
Oh btw, just in case you don't know, Sushi Tei has changed the menu slightly again.. they added a little more items.. so ya.. you should try..
The "Dai Dai Roll" is not bad.. Its actually like the "Dragon Roll", but its stuffed with artificial crabstick with mango, and topped with fresh slices of silky salmon and a tinge of prawn roe. Very interesting..
I also had the "Yakiniku Salad" with Sushi Tei dressing... its actually stir-fried beef with onions, and then added into a plate, with fresh cut lettuce and vegetables, and to end it all up, a generous serving of Sushi Tei dressing is poured over the salad, and viola! Simply oishi (delicious for Japanese).
The meal cost me $70.03, which is quite reasonable.. so they have revamped the menu.. you should go try it sometime.. remember, don't forget to jio and pay for me =P

Ok lah.. need to go sleep liaox..

Tml is the wedding dinner of my jie and kor at Raffles Town Club..

Don't you just love shopping?

The marriage of my godsiblings.. =)

Yoz! Its another wedding this year, and this time, it was my godsiblings (bro & sis) - Huimin & Derek..

Both of which (when they are singles) are close to my heart. Huimin and myself grew up in the same church since young, so we are like family..
Derek on the other hand was my senior when I was in Sec 1 (he was already Sec 4).. and after he has graduated from secondary school, I've lost contact with him totally.. until I met him again in Temasek Poly during orientation, where he was another fellow orientation leader.. so tats how we caught up with each other..

Years later, they both were together, and today, they were married! really happy for them!
Ha.. I just love marriages.. its so fun and happy!
I have already tot of what I will do if I'm married.. For sure, I will do a special item on the piano (if possible, a baby grand piano, or just a grand piano!).. haha.. I think so far already hor.. haha.. but well, first I need to find a wife.. haha.. =P

Anyway, today during the wedding, not only did I witness the marriage of my godsiblings, I also did caught up with a few ex-Crusade friends, whom I did not meet for a long long time..
Of course, my bro, Marcus, was there.. and ha.. he introduced me to a few familiar faces, and after I was introduced to them, and I knew what they were talking, we all started chatting.. haha..
So today is a day of somewhat meeting new friends too lah.. =)
Really thank God for the opportunity to catch up with old friends.

Ok.. really tired.. just came back from church and just open the prezzies!!
Thanks to all who have given me prezzies.. you all were indeed appreciated!

However, one prezzie which really inspired and spur me was from my bro and mentor, Tjow.. he actually gave me a blank music manuscript book.. its a very simple present, but it definately speak volumes.. indeed, it gave me inspiration to write new songs.. but the difficulty is that I have difficulty in expressing myself and also, my musical skills are limited. My language also not very good woh.. but oh well.. since its given to me, I have to try to make use of it rite..

I'm going shopping tml again.. haha.. nothing much.. just my Applecare warranty loh.. haha.. it will cost me a bomb I tell you.. haha...

I love weddings and Christmas,

What a good deal!!

** Photo on left: Nautica N-Tech Diver A23090G Orange Chrono Watch

Man! I've got a good deal at my office today.. There is actually a watch sale going on at my office area.. I got the watch for $180 (after 70% off)! Its perfect. No defects! Original price is close to $420!
They wanted to charge me $220, but becos I bought one more watch for my mum's birthday (Original is $270, but I got it at 70% off, which is $116). Its a Marc Ecko brand..

Mine is a Nautica Diver series watch, and moreover its chronograph, which explains why it is so expensive!

I asked the person why it is so cheap, and the person told me that it is because its an old season watch already.. and I was like "oh? really? It doesnt matter anyway.. I like the watch can liaox.. haha.."

Well, I'm happy! =)

Shopping and more photos!

Today I'm super sleepy.. slept quite late last nite (becos after dragging and all, and being too excited with my PSP), and moreover had woke up early this morning to go for my church's youth leader mtg, and then afterwhich, went to Funan to buy 1 PSP game (becos' the one that was bundled is in chinese and my mandarin not very good.. so ya..).. and I played tat game till I want to sleep .. so ya..

I bought a SIMS2 - Castaway.. so hope it won't be boring.. it cost me $61 ok.. haix.. then I also buy a USB cable (to transfer things like songs, etc), but that one quite cheap.. $15 only.. so ya..

** Photo on left: These 2 photos cost me a total of $33! I got it in softcopy format!! =).. see the difference of Photoshop.. haha..

Then I proceeded over to Suntec to go to a photo studio to get my other complimentory photo shoot (which was shot yesterday during the D&D event!), but ended up, actually getting 1 "edited" photo (they said they will makeover the photo.. so ya.. let's see how good is that!) for $25, and my complimentory photo, instead of printing, will be in digital format, and I would be charged $8 for it.. so ya.. in total, I paid like $33 for it.. just wanna see how good it is loh.. =).. and the photo I must say that it is quite good.. do you all see the difference? =) My mum said I can use the makeover photo for matchmaking.. wahaha.. I told her, not really lah.. I wanna put it on my wreath.. haha..

Then came home by bus (and of course playing my PSP) and then reach home, bathe and then blog this blogpost loh.. so ya..

Ok lah.. need to go and sleep liaox.. and man.. my working trips from tml onwards will never be the same again.. I would be confirm playing my PSP one.. let me see how long I can last this trend.. would it be for long? Only time will tell.. =)

Okay.. gtg liaox.. very tired liaox.. have not been sleeping much today, and now the weather so nice to sleep and cuddle under my quilt.. so ya..

I will go for a real makeover photo shoot one day,

I won!!

Well.. I can't hold my excitement longer!! I won a PSP 3000 series at my Company's D&D, and its the 11th prize.. I first thought that I may not stand a chance, since its like I did not won anything from the 16th to 100th prize.. so ya..

But never did I expect that I've won the 11th prize.. this prize though its not my most desirable prize, but I did mention that winning a PSP is also not too bad.. and man.. I didn't expect it to be so true.. haha..

But my boss won a $1200 travel voucher (3rd prize), and another close colleague of mine won the second prize, which is a 32" SAMSUNG LCD TV with home theatre system.. super cool lah..

But I'm not complaining lah.. at least I won something which I always wanted (which actually last time, I almost wanted to buy... haha).. Can't see myself as a gamer huh.. haha.. oh well.. I'm not really a gamer, but guess I'm starting to be more of a gadget person liaox.. so ya..

The moment I won, I msg a few ppl abt my win, and they were wondering whether I would know how to use it or whether I have any use for them.. haha.. I think the ppl who said that, were eyeing my PSP.. haha.. I wonder.. haha.. kidding...

Besides the D&D thingy, of course there was a lot of fun tonite as well!.. besides me being the youngest in the table, and kenna volunteered to play first game, I was also being dressed up (as part of a game) as a person whom you see, will sure lose your appetite one! so ya.. so I'm not going to show you =P.. Afterwhich, I was also made to go on stage to showcase my "capability" with the dressed outfit.. my goodness.. so embarrassing lah.. but fortunately, I was being sporting, so I said "ok" lah.. anyway, its all in the name of fun!!
The audience were laughing the whole time.. haha.. well.. I guess I do like making people laugh loh.. haha.. it could be my personality lah.. =)

Ok.. I gtg liaox.. need to sleep, and now as I'm blogging, I'm charging my PSP for use tomorrow.. oh man.. I can't wait!!

Gamer in the making?!?,

Eve of my company's annual D&D!

Yoz! Its me again!

Its the eve of my company's D&D, and today in my whole office, fellow colleagues were talking about how much they wanted the first prize (which is the Fujitsu Laptop) and also how previous years they have won the prizes and all..

It has seemed lotsa fun at the annual D&D, and in my 2 yrs of working life, believe it or not, this is my first D&D, so I hope that I could really enjoy myself.. so ya.. and see whether I'm fortunate enough to win something.. =)

Ok.. I got to go and sleep liaox.. super tired..

But whether I could sleep tonight is another issue.. I hope I do!

Camp "Transform!" - The Aftermath!

Yoz peepz! I know I have not been blogging, due to business in schedule.. so hope you all forgive me ya =)

Anyway, came back from Youth Camp 2008 yesterday, and being the chairman of this camp, I actually sacrifice a few stuff which is close to my heart, and that is the annual StanChart Marathon.. I have always wanted to join this marathon and now that I have the chance (its FREE somemore), I cldn't go due to me being the Chairman for the camp.. so ya..

** Photo on left: Youths @ Camp "Transform!"

But I'm glad that I did attend the camp.. its something different this year, being the youth camp being held at quite an ulu area, the MOE Adventure Centre @ Dairy Farm. Being only having 17 campers this year, its like a small close knitted family being together, spending time with each other, and more importantly, with God Himself!

Believe it or not.. after the camp, it was back to civilisation and I had quite a hard time to do so, due to the previous 3 days were being surrounded by greenery and tranquilness, so suddenly you see so many cars, people, I was taken aback!

** Photo on right: Campers posing for a photo @ Bukit Timah Hill Summit !!

Anyway, during the Camp, I led the group to hike the Bukit Timah Hill and I'm glad that the campers themselves drew Spiritual lessons from the hike.. One lesson which is still vivid in my memory is that, its very easy to go down the slippery road, but when we are to go up the hill, it is really difficult; and its the same with our spiritual life: going down the "bad" path is very easy, but clinging on to what is good and direct yourself in a Godly manner, is really difficult and you will face challenges, but ultimately, you will still get to the top if you do not give up.. so ya.. quite a lesson huh..

** Photo on left: Christopher Chan, the Camp Speaker !!

The speaker for the camp is also very good.. being an Ace student from ACJC and ultimately, a top student in NUS Engineering in Yr 1, but God called him into full time ministry and he obeyed, and he has not regretted till since.. and when I heard of this story, I was very inspired, and really was amazed of how God really took care of this guy (in terms of finances, family life, etc), so indeed God never short-changed us! Amen!!
Oh well.. different ppl have different experiences of how God works in them! so what is yours? *go figure*

Talent nite was also different this year.. it was actually a musical done up by some of my committee members.. cool huh!! Its really different.. and its been recorded on a digital camera, and of course, I will edit the video and then show it to church.. so this would mean becos I'm on leave today, I will spend most of today to finish up whatever that needs to be done! So ya..

So ya.. I'm charged up both spiritually and physically.. so its back to work tomorrow, but don't think I will have the mood because Saturday is my Company's annual dinner & dance!.. so ya.. lotsa prizes to be won.. and of course, I'm hoping for the top prize of a Fujitsu Laptop or at least a SAMSUNG 32" LCD TV with the home theatre system.. so let's see whether I'm able to do so loh.. haha..

Ok.. can't update further.. need to start editing liaox, or else tonight I really don't need to sleep liaox loh.. =)

Transform-ed,

So "malu"..

Well peepz.. today was the final straw!

During my monthly meeting today, I was asked to update about my project, and I did.. but my bosses kept saying this and that.. this cannot, that cannot, and becos I'm also very tired from the past few days, and also feeling very stressed and I really don't know how to go about doing it anymore.. I just sat there and hear them talk.. and man.. soon, you see that I was on the verge of tearing.. I don't know why.. my eyes just turn slightly watery..
I think during the meeting, my colleagues first time see me like that.. My bosses I think can see that I'm on the verge of tearing as well.. Then, they started to say comforting words..
Usually, I'm the bubbly type, but today, I was super quiet.. I only talk when I'm prompted to, other that that, I just keep quiet..

I actually wanted to go to the toilet to just cry it out, becos I know that if I do, I will feel much better (and probably preventing myself from slipping into depression as well).. but I didn't, for fear that people will call me crybaby.. so ya..

The tears will just flow down automatically whenever I think of it (even in the bus though its after work).. so better not talk anymore, or else, I really going to tear.. so ya.. I have not had a good cry yet.. let's just hope tomorrow would be better..

Stressed,

What more can I ask?

Well.. wat do you get when you put being stressed out, and feeling terribly exhausted and tired? *Go figure*

That's what I have been feeling these past weeks that I did not blog.. I just don't understand why some people can just talk, talk and talk, and worst still, expecting ppl to do just that, without even considering ppl's feelings or fatigue level!

Throw in some fickle-minded attitude, either shown when firm decisions are made or just when you thought you are done for the day, suddenly out of the blue, another decision pops out, and you are expected to carry out immediately, even though you had tons of more urgent paperwork to complete, and you have been told paperwork can wait, which actually, just a day later, ppl start hurrying you for your paperwork, and worst still, ask you to add stuff which is alien to you, or at least, you need time to digest before it is being carried out!

Worst still, blames you for something which was agreed earlier.. blaming my incompetancy, when in the first place, mentioned that help would be rendered!
Unreasonable or forgotten that some mention at some time, about help been rendered?

Been feeling very terrible till the point of being on the verge of sinking into depression!

A vague post for you? *go figure*
