Up and well again!

Yey! My phone has been retrieved frm the doctors @ Nokia Care Centre! The problem is tat there is this electrical part problem, so they changed for me.. but my motherboard (for the phone) is working a ok!.. so this means my warranty still continues till 260206! Yeh!

But of course, the wait was not short! In fact, when I went to the Nokia Care Centre, it was like close to 1600 then I left hse.. and when I reached there, it was 1640. And though the place was not as crowded as yesterday, I still had 21 ppl queuing in front of me and I waited for about an hour for my turn.. and within 5 mins, I'm done with my collection.. haiz.. fancy me waiting so long for my "baby".. haiz..

So on the bus ride and came home, spend a while customising my phone all over again.. though tedious, but no choice.. haiz..

so now my phone is working fine again loh =).. so happy!

Well.. gonna meet up for dinner with Sarah, Wendy & Josh tml for Wendy & Sarah Farewell Dinner.. so ya.. quite excited abt it! Dun ask me where, becos Josh told me tat it muz be kept a secret and meant to be a surprise.. so he didnt even tell me where we're eating.. so ya.. till I find out, then I tell you all readers out there ya =)..

My phone is sick! *sob*

Well.. will elaborate more on my blog title later.. so here's wat happen during the day!

Slept quite early yesterday nite becos was super tired.. and I slept like frm 0000-0900! An easily 9hr sleep! Usually I juz need 7-8hrs sleep tats all.. but dun koe why suddenly yesterday can sleep so much! so ya..

Was hving my phone (my Nokia 6230) beside my bed when I sleep (this is wat I do every nite.. even on normal days).. but when I woke up this morning, I was shocked to see how come my phone 'disappeared'.. was frantically looking for it, but a gut feeling told me tat it may have dropped on the floor.. but when checked, nothing was wrong.. then was again looking the whole room for it, but cldn't find it.. again, the gut feeling came and I think it was like at the side of my bed or sumthing.. so I removed my bed and there came the phone dropped on the floor! Oh my! My heart broke at tat time! haiz..

Phone suddenly switches off, machiam like some discman which has a shock resistance thing in them.. so I on it.. and occasionally thru'out the day, the phone switches off by itself once.. but then initially, I juz tot nothing wrong.. maybe batt low.. so juz leave it..

Then afternoon, went down to Upper Paya Lebar Road to buy roasted duck and other meat stuff for dinner.. mum asked me to do so.. so ya.. in abt 45mins, I was back.. and since my sis was still hogging the computer, therefore, I decide to go to Nokia Care Shop and see whether anything wrong with my phone..

So there I went.. Wanted to go to the Suntec City branch, but then the waiting of the bus was far too long.. and bus 105 came instead.. I was initially contemplating whether to board the bus and go to the Wheelock branch instead.. So finally, I did.. Took the bus to Toa Payoh MRT, and take to Orchard MRT, and then walk!

When I reach the service centre @ Wheelock, I was shocked to see so many ppl! The no. tat they are serving is 198 and my no. is 225! So waited for my turn and finally my turn came..

Explained my situation to the technician there.. and then something tell me to tell her the truth, and tat is I dropped my phone! Becos' if I did not, and tml when I go collect, if they found out tat my hardware got problem, I can't collect my phone tml!..
Anyway, thank God for Nokia.. becos they say by rite my phone if dropped and hardware spoiled, they wld NOT change for me.. but they will place an exception for me.. so if they check today and see tat really is my hardware problem, they are gonna change it FOC for me, but then my warranty will end tml if they changed my hardware for me! So ya.. but anyway, my phone warranty is ending on 260206.. so ya.. so its abt time lah.. wait till it spoil again, then I may consider trade in my this phone, and get a new one.. becos the repairs can easily add up to abt $100 (depending on the things they changed for me).. so ya.. so wats the pt of repair? I muz why buy new one rite.. so in the meantime, guess my Nokia 6230 has served me well.. so ya.. I shall keep it for a little while b4 I decide to change or not.. probably after NS then I change? =)so ya.. so tml collection time for my phone is 1600 @ Wheelock! So gonna go back there tml!

So now my phone is sick and thank goodness, I've got another phone! Currently using my Nokia N-gage for the time being! So until tml, its adios for me and gonna prepare a surprise for you readers in the coming yr! So be excited! Be very excited! ha.. =)

My Family Chalet @ Changi Beach Club, Singapore

First stop, a brief account of what happened in my family chalet, happening on 23/12/05 - 26/12/05 @ Changi Beach Club, Singapore!
It was an enjoyable time.. and especially with now I have a camera, it makes life more fun (becos' can take photo mah!).. hahaz.. So this section is definately more photos than words (or at least a balance?).. In here, are only a selective few photos.. This photo here is a taken shot at Changi Broadwalk! It was my sis and I went to the chalet first, becos' my dad is working (and will only join us 2 days later), and my mum is babysitting.. so yupz..
Anyway, the check-in timing was 1400.. but then my aunty told us tat check-in was 1200.. so we dragged a bit and took a cab there (with ALL my family baggages and loads of other stuff.. not forgetting my Christmas presents for my Youth in Generation Joshua), and when we reached there, it was 1300! So after check with the staff there, we then know tat the check-in timing was 1400! So we had to wait for 1 hr before checking in! So anyway, we ate our packet lunch (which was Nasi Lemak.. Yummy!) and then my sis suggested since we got nothing to do, so let's take pics.. so ya.. this is one of the sibling pics we took! Isn't this sweet! Ha.. =P.. Btw, I was WITHOUT my specs, so tat explains why my eyes were so small =)

Of course, what wld be chalet without swimming? Ha.. so decide to go for a swim.. one to fulfill my all-time sport crave, swimming! And also to lose some calories before I binge on Christmas stuff lah! Ha.. So ya.. Anyway, this is it loh! With a camera of course, how can I miss such a moment of me TOPLESS? People! Yes! I went topless for this pic! Ha.. man.. I think I'm obsessed with my body liaoz! Muz go to gym and tone more! Then I will be a hunk! Ha.. Ok.. shall stop! I sound like a metrosexual? Ha.. This is a puppy Golden Retriever. Took this pic with my Nokia 6230 @ Pet Safari @ Simei Shopping Centre! My aunty came to meet us and wanted to buy sumthing for her dog.. so we went there for lunch and afterwards, went to go and walk walk the place for a while! And then, when I saw the dogs, I cldn't resist.. and I start whinning like this dog is so cute and stuff.. and I think I got a little irritated and dun sound so macho.. so I decided to stop and take a photo! Anyway, this dog is cute rite? ya.. but the price is not cute! Believe it or not.. this is an australian breed dog, so this fellow costs a whipping $1880! *Drops jaw*

Christmas Service @ OCC!

Man.. this is one of the best Christmas service I've attended so far in my life! There are company of friends in church, as well as great food.. and not forgetting the presents! They are so good! Thanx to the ppl who gave me the presents! They are greatly appreciated!

People who dun give me presents, dun worry! Its the tot tat counts! This yr never give nvm loh.. there is always next yr =P.. ha..

Man.. there is a story behind this pic.. Apparently, after Tjow & Claudia had taken their couple photo, I had a weird idea.. and tat is asking Tjow to hug Joshua Gouw and take photo! Of course, Joshua Gouw resisted.. so Tjow, Alvin & me had to hold him still and surround him.. so therefore, it explains why 3 guys were surrounding him.. ha.. betcha u didnt koe the story when I first told ya rite? =)

Well.. well.. the famous Kawaii-neh pose pic tat OCC ppl (esp. the guys) like to do.. I dun koe why, but its scary! Ha.. anyway, all these in the name of fun! If I'm not wrong, this pose originated frm my buddy, Alvin.. and since then, its been a pose tat the members in Generation Joshua uses! Ha.. How's that?
Anyway, the photographer for this photo is Xinyi.. she was like ok.. first pic, we did a pose.. then she said, 2nd pose, and then we pose.. then she said 3rd pose, and then we pose.. then she said 4th pose, and then I came up with the idea of kawaii-neh.. and surprisingly, the guys were all game for it.. and u shld have seen the look on Alvin face! My Mum's Birthday Dinner @ The Asian Kitchen, Marina Square Shopping Centre

Actually wanted to eat at another restaurant, which my mum requested.. but then there was a long queue outside tat particular restaurant.. So in the end, we have changed location, and off we went to The Asian Kitchen restaurant!

The menu for the restaurant! Cool rite? The original name for this restaurant was Vietai (which literally means tat they serve both Vietnam & Taiwan food).. which explains why there is a mix of dishes in the menu!

-The Beef Brisket Soup-
This soup is perfect! But then a commend frm the *ahem* food guru is tat the beef taste is not strong enuf! But one thing win it hands down is besides the mix of cow's inerts (like stomach, tendons) and beef meat, its also the uniqueness of the soup, whereby they serve u raw beansprouts (as a condiment in the soup!) and quarter of the big lime (which is for you to squeeze into the soup.. so as to give it a slightly sourish taste!)

-The Fresh Rice Paper Rolls-
This is a very typical Vietnam dish! It is like our local 'popiah' except tat it has a twisted ingredient (which is mint leaves).. inside wrapped with white rice, lettuce, carrot, cucumber, and the special ingredient, mint leaves!
Didn't really like the mint leaves, becos it has tat weird taste! My sis and I agreed tat it spoils the dish! But then again, the mint leaves makes the stuff unique!! Oh.. there is also this special sauce (which I believe its sweet sauce, and on the sauce, it has some crushed peanuts!).. so you are suppose to dip the rolls into the sauce and eat! so ya.. I like the sauce and the rolls, but not the mint leaves! Yucks! So becos of this mint leaves, I wld give the dish a rating of 3 out of 5 stars!

-The Black Pepper Garlic Beef-
This beef dish is quite a nice dish.. Though its not tat perfect, but then its edible lah.. but I wld prefer the taste of black pepper to be stronger though! Yupz!

-The Fried Rice With Beef-
This is your normal fried rice with beef! The one thing nice is tat this rice is really cool! The beef is ultra tender, and the rice, though it looks all wet and stuff, but then, it has tat strong beef flavour in the rice, and 1 mouth of it is like so super shiok lah! If you are a beef lover, you can consider this!

The Viet Stew
Ahh.. this is my main course! And yes! I didn't regret!! I trusted my instinct, and I'm glad I did!! The food guru recommendations is always the best! ha.. Anyway, yes.. if u look at the dish carefully, its actually your typical beef stew.. except tat it has chilli oil in it.. so it gives tat spicy taste! Shiok I tell you!

-The Mango Sago-
Oh man! This dessert is to die for!! I'm serious! 1 mouth of it will bring you to heaven! Its actually chunks of mango being blended with a little crushed ice and a bit of sugar syrup.. all blended together to form a pasty texture of mango! And on top of the dessert, a little of coconut milk is being drizzled.. and to end it all, a spoonful of sago is placed on top! Man.. I must stressed tat this desssert is so so so nice! Mango lovers, you wld definately love this! =)

-The Deep-Fried Ice-Cream-
This is ur typical Japanese style fried ice-cream! I muz admit tat I've never eaten one before, so I dun really koe the taste of the deep-fried ice-cream.. but then, I initially tot tat this is a good alternative.. but then I was wrong! The "skin" was too hard and thick! And the ice-cream of all flavours had to be coconut! haiz.. =(.. but if you game enuf to try, then go ahead loh! For this dessert, I wld give a rating of 2 out of 5 stars!

Movie Outing!

Guess wat ppl! I've watched Chronicles of Narnia! And its worth my every cent! Fantasy story lovers, this is a movie which you must watch! Its quite a heart-warming story I muz say! =)

Well.. this is somewhat a last minute thing! This thing was only planned last nite! So ya.. so after I went home after my mum's birthday dinner, I went online to view the timings for the movie! And my movie kakki, Ben, said he wanted to watch between 1400-1500 shows.. so initially wanted to book GV Plaza, but then no good seats.. so in the end, settled for GV Marina instead!

And I tell you.. this outing gave me a shock of my life today! I was as kan cheong as a spider today! Here's wat happen..
Met up with Ben like at 1440 initially.. but then I was too held up with this blogpost (as in typing and stuff).. so by the time I finished bathing (had a stomachache in between!.. ok.. too much details!!), it was like 1410 liaoz.. went down and waited for bus 133 to come, and it came only like 1415! Then bus travel at a reasonable speed.. but once at Lavander (where Immigration office is), it started to jam! My heart started pumping fast and I prayed fervently, hoping tat the GV dun give me a last minute shock tat they cancel my tix bookings! So ya..
Just nice, reach Suntec City bus-stop at 1500.. and I tell you.. I rush like mad.. in fact, I ran initially to the escalator and then walk super fast, till the pt tat my legs got almost numb frm all tat brisk-walking.. its like running speed but I force myself to walk.. so u can imagine how much strain are at my ankles! .. btw, I booked the 1500 show! So tat's why!
As if I was not scared enuf, when I went there, I was shocked to see a long queue buying tix and saw the cinema tix for the show at 1500 were sold out! I was in fear, becos I tot tat this is it! I'm either going to miss part of the show or I'm going to waste my $15 (2 tix of $7 each + $1 bking fee for online buying!)
Thank goodness for Ben, he went to the front counter and ask whether I get priority taking of the tix since I internet booked! And yes! I did.. so I jumped the long queue (abt 20 ppl in front of me!) and juz b4 the counter serve me, the counter shouted those who have internet bkin, queue behind me.. so ya.. was quite honoured lah.. ha..

Then another thing happened in the cinema which really made my whole experience so mad.. this is wat happen..
Went into the cinema and u koe my friend, Ben.. he like keeps talking abt his duty stuff, becos I think he is bored lah.. so he chatted with me for a while.. but all these were BEFORE the movie started! I was tending to ask him to shut up when the movie starts! Juz as seeing the screen tat it has started showing, and even b4 I cld open my mouth to ask Ben to keep quiet and we'll chat later, a lady beside me said to me softly, "Excuse me.. can you stop talking?"..
Then I was like super paiseh already.. I then replied "okok.. sorry!".. but then, I was actually a bit mad! Never in my whole cinema life, whilst watching a show, someone dared to reprimand me like tat!
Then tots started to stream into my mind.. what if I'm a very typical ah-beng or I'm those can flare up easily? If I make a big fuss out of it, wat wld happen? But then, decide to leave it aside.. these trival matters juz treat it like dirt loh!
Then u koe sumthing? The lady (with her child and husband of course) moved 1 seat away frm me.. and guess wat! Her child was talking THRU'OUT the movie; whenever her child ask her a question, she will answer! I was like want to tell her the same thing.. and tat is to shut up! But then again, felt it was not necessary! Didn't want to make a big fuss!
Then when the lights come on after the movie, they left so fast, tat I didn't even seen her face!
This lady is such a B***H! arghh.. (sorry for this word in my blog! didn't mean to do it.. but then I juz have to let it out!)

So ya.. tat was a series of events happening during the days tat I did not blog! ha.. =P.. so happening ya??

Gonna have more happening events this wk.. line up next is a farewell dinner, and probably a countdown on Saturday! so ya.. so readers out there, hope you enjoy this blog as much as I'm typing it? ha..

Almost half dead!

Hi ppl.. its time for the daily dose of update!

Slept like 1230 last time.. had MSN chats with a few ppl.. slept till like until 0630.. (I set my alarm last nite at 0630, so tat's y I can wake up mah!).. and then, did my QT, then at 0653, went for a jog!

Run close to 3 km today.. the last time I went for a jog was like 3 days back.. didnt want to go at tat time, but my mum forced me to jog.. so ya.. my woes of being her son! ha..

But anyway, I'm glad tat I ran lah, becos I'm getting fat! Yes! FAT! My weight increases by the day and I can't allow this to happen! Dun want to go back to my pre-NS weight of 81kg! ahhh.. *screams in terror*

Anyway, the other time I jog, was feeling not so tired (only the last 800m then I started to feel tired..).. but then for today, dun koe why, after abt 1.5km, I started to breathe heavily, lack of strength and almost fainted! But then, I pushed myself on to run.. and I completed my 3km run as a result!

Need to complete my run today, becos I'll be bingeing during the holiday season, especially Christmas! So burning some calories I think wld definately help! ha..

Oh.. before I continue, I wld like to congratulate my bro (in camp), Sidney, for a job well done for his BTT! He FINALLY passed the test! =)
I was happy for him (yes.. during the phonecall!), but then after the phonecall ended, I started to feel lousy! Its like tat failure feeling of yesterday, I'm feeling it all over again! Its like he can pass his basic, but then I can't! haiz.. I think my perfectionist trait is taking over me once again! haiz.. sometimes, perfectionisism does not really help? =(
Even as I'm writing this post, I'm feeling it again lah.. haiz.. *sighs*

Anyway, my computer juz detected tat I got virus (trojon) in my computer, but then can't delete! haiz.. Then when I scan my whole computer, it didn't detect! Hope it doesn't act up loh! haiz.. =(

Anyway, gtg now and do my other stuff.. having a very fun chat on MSN! Back to my chat!

Oh ppl.. gonna have my family holiday retreat frm tml onwards to nxt monday.. so ya.. wont be blogging so a while.. so dun miss me ya..

The Day I Experience Failure!

Once again ppl, I'm disappointed! I've FAILED my Final Theory Driving Test (FTT)! Haiz..

I dun koe whether its becos I never study or sumthing.. but apparently, I've like studied! I studied the whole of this morning (of course again I slept, but for only 30 mins! Slept at 0130 last nite!)..

Then I got so lazy, but I still force myself to glance thru the textbook.. then, its time for me to eat lunch and go..

Reached there like got extra 20 mins, and so I studied again! Then went up for trial test! When went there, I got a shock of my life.. almost cldn't login and wasted my $5.25!! But fortunately, I wrote my passwords and stuff in my exercise bk (which I called my mum to help me find out!).. my mum referred then she told me and I was able to do the e-trial test!

When the results of the e-trial test came out, I failed.. I obtain 80%.. haiz.. so then seeing the time was still early, I attempted another time.. but then to my dismay, it was the same set of qns.. haiz.. tot can have more practice.. so the 2nd time, I obtained 98% and I passed..

And frankly speaking, whilst waiting for the e-trial test to start, I began to feel butterflies in my stomach.. as if it was the real thing! But the surprising thing is tat once I entered the e-trial test hall, everything seems to be back to normal! Then when I went for the main test, again when outside waiting for our turn to go in, I was feeling a little bit nervous.. but then once I started the test, time seem to be on my side (ie, didnt expect tat time passes so slow! or maybe I was fast?) and also the nervousness seems to fade off.. I dun feel so cold after all.. believe tat ur prayers help! =)

Then it was doing the test until the point where I even check the answers another time b4 I end the test.. and everything seems to be so perfect.. though some of my answers I'm not sure, I juz anyhow hantam lah.. hoping tat I got correct! but haiz.. when I see the word, FAILED, tats it! My whole world suddenly like collapse!

Then after I've booked my 2nd attempt date for my FTT, the first person I call is my bro in camp, Sidney! He picked up the call, and he said the first sentence, "you pass ur test izzit?".. ha.. Thank goodness he said tat and not otherwise, or else, ha.. he is so going to get it frm me! Ha.. I told him how I felt and stuff, and he said he felt worse than me the last time he fail his Basic Theory Test (BTT).. Thanx 4 the comforting word bro! You are much appreciated! =)
Anyway, tml is his another attempt (dun want to say how many! its sensitive!) of his BTT! Hope he pass this time round! All the best bro! Jiayou!! =)

Then thru'out the bus ride and stuff, I feel moody lah.. Comfort SMSes kept pouring into my inbox.. replied them.. but still wasn't my happy self! But then wat my bro, Andrew, send me one SMS which really impacted me.. he said tat, "where is the ever so happy abriel tat I koe?.. Failure is ok.. ppl go thru failures.. if you do your best, God will do the rest!"

When I read tat, I was touched lah =) Thanx bro!

Well.. I dun think I never study or sumthing.. becos' the questions they ask during the test is sometimes very weird.. eg of qn are as follows:

(1) What is used to reduce the risk of neck injury during a collision?
(2) Why do hard steering occur?

The above 2 are the qn tat I remember loh.. dun koe how to answer sia! Izzit use common sense? Or muz have some car engineering knowledge? Or izzit state in the book but I overlooked it? I wld think its something NOT written in the book! Its like common sense! Then this part I lose out! I ask ppl qn (2), and they said they never seen such a qn and worse still, he dun koe the answer even though he's driving! Oh.. the answer is NOT becos no power steering.. if tats the answer, I think I shld koe liaoz.. haiz.. Anyway, no point crying over spilled milk..

Anyway as mentioned earlier, have booked for my 2nd attempt at FTT! Its on 1/2/06 (the 4th day of CNY!).. So ya.. dun plan to study so early.. plan to take a break! Will do my share of studying after the festive season (ie, Christmas & New Year)!! In the meantime, can't wait for the festive seasons to arrive! =)

But then again, thanx 4 the ppl whom I've SMSed for prayer, as well as for the comforting SMSes you've spent on me, namely, Andrew (my all-time bro), Cornelius, Xinyi, Joyce, Carlise, Huimin, Marcus, and probably other ppl who I forgotten to mention! If I didn't mention you, its NOT tat you're not important or I'm not grateful! Its juz tat I got STM (Short Term Memory).. have received lots of comfort SMSes.. thanx ppl! You're the best! =)

A Short Post..

Well.. this is really a short post before you read the long one.. anyway, this one is an update of wat happened today!

Well.. as some of you wld koe, tml is my Final Driving Theory Test(FTT) test at 1515-1605! So need your much prayers ya? Appreciate it! Wld send SMSes tml to remind you all..

As mentioned above, tml is my FTT.. so practically I spent half of the day studying.. and I tell you.. it wwas awful! I practically like study halfway, becos my bed was too comfortable, I slept like for 1.5 hrs! Horrible rite?

Then I had lunch and continued studying for abt 2 hrs, before I'm done.. Once done with studying, I did my Christmas presents wrapping (did this Christmas stuff in total frm preparation to wrapping, accumulative hrs is abt 10-15 hrs over a period of like 2-3 wks!).. so ya.. spend a lot of effort on Christmas presents this year! =).. Tired after all the wrappings..

Currently, doing a lot of stuff.. besides blogging, I'll be doing something impt for other ppl too.. so ya.. dun koe wat time I'll sleep tonite.. haiz..

Still very anxious abt tml's test.. I want to pass it ONE time! Dun want to waste time, becos *touch wood* if I dun make it, I dun koe when I can take lohz! haiz..

Oh.. juz visited one of my team mate's in Youth Camp blog, and I feel so happy tat she has already mature and grown so much spiritually (over the course of 3 days.. and now she is doing her Quiet Time, unlike last time!).. As her team leader and her fellow Generation Joshua member, I feel so happy for her!

Then my bro, Andrew came online.. and he told me yah.. he read her blog too, and yes.. he is happy for her too.. and I use the exact phrase tat he used to call her, "lost lamb".. LAMB?!? I then started to make a LAME joke out of the word he use (PS: This has NOTHING to do with Andrew! He is NOT lame.. I am! Starting to learn frm my other bro, Nat! haha..).. Anyway, here it is.. (hope it brings a smile to ur face though its LAME! haha).. so here goes..

*Man enters a restaurant..*

Waitress: Good evening Sir. Welcome! Here is our menu.. please take your time and choose and I'll be back shortly to take your orders.

*Man smiles at waitress as a form of saying "Thank You"*

Man: I'm done with my selection! Pls. take my orders.

Waitress: Sure! So wat do you want Sir?

Man: Can I have a lost LAMB?

Waitress: A lost LAMB?

Man: Yes! A lost LAMB!

Waitress: But I'm sorry Sir! We dun serve lost lamb! We only serve lamb chops!

My Secret Garden!

Ok.. ppl! This I think is the photo blog of the year! Never did I have so many photos in a blog before! Of course, with photos comes explanation.. so ya.. be patient ppl! I've a feeling tat this wld take real long? But then again.. since when my blog is boring? ha.. =P

Before I continue, I wld like to wish Wendy, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! May all your dreams come true =).. Believe all tat I want to say is in the card tat I've written yesterday liaoz.. so dun want to repeat =).. Dun miss us when you are away ya? Dun cry! ha.. can see u crying liaoz.. hahaz.. =P

Anyway, as mentioned earlier, we were there at the restaurant to celebrate Wendy's birthday! As u can see frm this photo, wat's she is holding up is a card and the envelope for the card! And guess who designed this? Its my sis! Here's the full story..

Sarah's idea for this present is giving the 5 purposes of life (according to the 40 Days of Purpose).. so juz to recap, the 5 purposes are:
(1) You Were Planned For God's Pleasure (Worship)
(2) You Were Made For A Mission (Mission)
(3) You Were Shaped For Serving God (Ministry)
(4) You Were Created To Become Like Christ (Discipleship)
(5) You Were Formed For God's Family (Fellowship)

Then she was like last minute planned for present! She has engaged the help of Huimin and me.. She told us wat to get and we got it..


Done wat I suppose to do for the part of the present, and off I went to Starbucks Coffee, Bugis, to meet her.. man! Wasn't she gorgeous when I saw her? ha.. she has evolved much again! ha.. =)













Was late in the end becos bus came late and stuff.. then, I went up to Paris Maki, Bugis, to get my supplies of Focus Dailies Aqua-release Contact Lens @ $78 for 30 pairs of daily disposables! Man.. this is like one of my dream contact lens! Always wanted to try.. but then my current supply of contact lens is running out, so need to get it loh! Actually I thought have like $20 discount, but then, they say becos' tat time was with consultation.. so ya.. haiz.. so no choice loh.. have to pay like $78 for it since I need it loh =(

Then after buying my contact lens, went down to Starbucks to meet with Sarah again! She asked me abt ideas of how to do the card! I told her tat she has asked the wrong person! U koe me lah! I have zero percent of artistic talent!

Then after sitting down for a while, the Starbucks stuff then asked us whether we want any drinks.. so we no choice but to order, becos' we use their premises.. so paiseh.. so in the end, order the holiday drink, Peppermint Mocha Frappicino.. My verdict? NOT as good as Coffee Bean's and its more expensive by $0.90! So ya.. Tat's the food guru verdict! Ha.. =)

Then, my sis came to meet us! She came at the rite time lah.. then Sarah called her to do the card! Then my sis was so good lah.. she originally wanted a string, so me and my ideas, i went to the counter and got a paperbag! And my artistic sister was so artistic tat she actually changed her idea immediately, and then she tear the paper bag here and there, and viola, a Starbucks-theme card and envelope! And I muz say its very nice! Sarah joked tat we cld be the Ministry of Recycling! Man.. this card-making process is so fun!!

Of course, whilst doing, we had an acapella group, Offbeats, who were crooning Christmas carols on stage at Bugis Junction Shopping Centre, to entertain us.. and I muz say they are good! =)

Soon, Huimin and Derek joined us.. and by the time the present was finished, we were 1 hr late of the mtg time! So we tot of various excuses loh! And then frm there, we walked to My Secret Garden and it was a long walk!

When I reached there, I was stunned at how beautiful the deco of the place is.. it has tat CHIJMES restaurant feel! So nice.. you all shld visit it one day =).. very romantic and cosy as well!

Anyway, we all had a chat loh! I think our table is the noisiest one of all.. becos we were laughing so loudly! All thanks to Huimin! She was the "craziest" of the group! She really let her hair down! I cldn't stop laughing thru'out the nite! I think she's high or sumthing.. after she had finished her chocolate dessert, she got worst.. man! she is so super funny lah! Huimin, you're the GAL! ha.. =)



Then somewhere after we finished the food, we asked for desserts.. and then, we surprise her with a slice of her birthday cake (which was Oreo Chesscake) with a candle stuck on top, and sang happy birthday to her! I wld think she's touched lah! ha.. =).. Anyone wld be loh! So sweet rite =)

Anyway, the bottom are the photos of the food tat we ate! Will describe a bit if I can remember the description of the dish though.. so here goes..


This is called the Vongole Spaghetti. Sarah's Main Dish! Its practically spaghetti with clams.

This is called the Tiramisu. Sarah's Dessert! The tiramisu is perfect! Not so sweet and at the same time, the alcohol taste in the tiramisu is just not too over-powering! Moreover, it's served chill! And with its layer of cocoa powder on top of the dessert, it is heavenly! The dessert for alcohol lovers! =)

This is called the Seafood Aglio Olio Spaghetti. My sis's Main Dish! Another one of my favourite pastas! The dish has an assortment of seafood, ranging frm fresh scallops, prawns to even squids! A dish definately for seafood lovers! But according to my sis, the taste is a bit blend, so probably, a tinge of Tobasco wld help, but then my sis didn't ask for any.. so ya.. juz a recommendation! But frm the looks of it, it looks delicious huh =)

This is called the Marshmellow Fudge. My sis's Dessert! This dessert is super power! Chocolate lovers, you DUN want to miss this! The dessert is topped with marshmellows, and the bottom is chocolate brownie.. all these, coated with generous serving of hot chocolate fudge.. This juz melts in your mouth when you eat it! However ppl, this is sinful! But wat the heck! Juz eat it lah! Chocolate lovers and ppl who have a weakness for marshmellows, this one you muz eat! Dun eat, you regret ah!!

This is called the Rib-eye Steak. Huimin's Main Dish! It is served with potatoes and vegetables.. if I'm not wrong, there is also zuchinni on the plate! DUN ask me wat is zuchinni, becos' I also dun koe.. ha.. but all I koe tat its a vegetable and according to Carlise, she said its bitter! Anyway, the steak u see here is cooked medium well! So ya.. FYI.. juz in case u want to koe mahz! hahaz.. =)

This is called the Pan-Seared Cilantro Chicken. Derek's Main Dish! If you are wondering wat is the yellow stuff on the chicken, tat one is Mango Puree.. and if you are wondering which part of the chicken did he ate, its Chicken Thigh.. so ya.. Oh. FYI.. If you ever wonder wat is Cilantro, it is actually a type of vegetable, mostly used for garnishing.. so tat explains the green stuff on the chicken! =)

This is called the Brownie Mud Slice. Huimin & Derek's Dessert! This is another stuff which chocolate lovers muz try! Its similar to the mudpie in NYDC (if you ever try one! u muz try it sumtime if you haven't tried b4!), but then I find this better! Becos not so sweet, and another thing, the hot chocolate fudge juz brings the brownie mud slice to a whole new level! The chocolate fudge juz lines ur mouth whenever you are eating a piece of the brownie! Yummy! The chocolate fudge is rich, thick and creamy! Just the way I like! *licks mouth and cleans the drool*

This is called the Oxtail. Wendy & My Main Dish! We each have a plate of oxtail tat is.. dun get the wrong idea.. we are NOT sharing! Anyway, the oxtail is mama-mia stuff! It is cooked in red wine sauce! Then, the oxtail is cooked in such a way tat the sauce actually has "seeped" into the meat, therefore, giving a tasteful meat of the oxtail! The meat was also tender, and not to mention the tendons! Oh.. they are oh so perfect! Frankly speaking, I felt like using my hands and eat clean the bones (the tendons of course), but then tat was a high class restaurant, and it was unglam to do so, so didn't do it in the end, and I kiss my favourite part, which is the tendons, goodbye! Haiz.. But seriously, it's very delicious! Meat lovers or stew lovers, this is one which you muz eat! Its an alternative to beef! In fact, this tastes much much better! =) Oh.. did I mention tat it is served with a serving of mashed potatoes and 3 slices of baguette? =)

This is called the Apple Crumble. My Dessert! This dessert gives MacDonald's for a run for their money, but this is much healthier, becos its ovenbaked!! However, the downside of it is tat it is a bit too sweet for my taste, so everytime I eat it, I muz drink a gulp of water! Ya.. it gets a bit irritating at times! Shld have ordered the chocolate stuff.. haiz.. but anyway, its an experiment manz! It all started out with me choosing a less sinfu option, which is of course apple crumble or tiramisu.. so sarah took tiramisu, so I thought I try apple curmble instead! Oh.. btw, it is served with a spoonful of blueberry sauce! So ya.. a fruity taste but then again, its sweet! Sweet tooth lovers wld sure to love this dessert! =)

This is called the Caesar's Salad. Our appetiser! Not bad actually! But then it seems to be missing meat! If it has chicken shreds (juz like Cafe Cartel), then it wld be perfect! But then again, its juz a salad.. so for a salad to be of this standard served at My Secret Garden, is considered quite good liaoz, even though I find it not much of a special stuff.. so vege lovers or ppl who want to slim down or health conscious ppl, try this for an alternative! Its healthy! At least you eat ur veges, unlike some ppl I koe (you koe who u are)! Hahaz.. =P

Its juz after 3 days since Youth Camp ended and I'm missing it terribly already! Been talking abt it to my friend, and juz reminisce the times we had (be it the games, food or the company of friends), is juz enuf to make me tear (but of course did not cry lah.. but if I continue talking abt this topic, I think I would juz tear!)

Sometimes I really wonder how is this possible? Its been 3 days and the memory still remains very clear in my mind! So remembering it and talking abt it juz makes me sad lah.. I'm sure ppl like my bro, Andrew, will also feel sad rite bro? =(

Anyway, went to Eastern Gate to do duty yesterday. However, I muz confess tat even thought my physical self was there, but my heart was not there!! In fact, it is in a holiday mood liaoz (becos yesterday was my LAST duty of the year! Yippie! I'm clearing all my off and leave, so tats why I clear so long =)). My mind was also "not there"; it is reminiscing the Youth Camp days! Sometimes, I juz feel so vexed of myself lah!! I'm sure you all know or have such a feeling before rite? =)

Was on like a 4 hr duty in the morning-afternoon part, so to pass the time, I talked with my duty partner abt loads of stuff; Youth Camp, Christian stuff, music theory.. and surprisingly, the time pass so fast! 4 hrs juz gone like tat!!

However, in my shift, I can't stand one of my shift mate's way of talking! He has been talking very sarcastically nowadays! Not tat I cannot stand jokes.. once in a while is okay, but the problem is tat he has been doing it on a very often basis, and tat really made me almost blew my top!
I'm trying my best to control it, but I will wonder wat if I cldn't take it, will I explode or scold some "words" which I've never done before! However, I dun wish to go there!
But seriously, he is getting on my nerves! Sometimes he is good to me and sometimes he juz talk sarcastically lah! I wld think tat he thought I can control it.. but then, I'm 80% there liaoz.. another 20% more, I will explode!! arrgghhh.. juz hope tat I can control my anger!

Anyway, back to my blog..

Then it was rest all the way till like 2300 before doing duty (you may think shiok! but then my nite duty last frm 2300-0700!! Tats 8 hrs straight ppl! And tat is shiong! But wat to do? My duty is like tat means like tat liaoz loh! What can I do?)

Anyway, during my rest time, something tells me to SMS my bro, Andrew, abt something! But in the end, when Andrew has told me abt wat I wanted to know initially, he told me something else which was so shocking (NOT convenient to share ppl, becos this is quite personal! I feel tat as his close friend and bro, I shld not divulge such stuff, or else, the trust between us is broklen liaoz.. so sorry ppl! Can't do it.. hope you all understand =))..
Therefore, I found out more abt the issue tat's boggling him and then try to comfort him lah (all thru SMS! The power of communication!).. But I think I was only 20% successful.. but nevermind.. I'll pray for you bro! Take courage my friend and let God do the rest ya? =)

Woke up then to do duty at 2300; and guess what happened!! My officer came to give us drills! Ahh..
(FYI: My officer for yesterday somehow switched! It was supposed to be a "not-so-on" officer taking over our shift yesterday, becos the previous officer (who originally is my officer) mounted a 48hr duty so far! So by all rights, he shld dismount duty yesterday! But then, never did I guess he was so "on", and he continued to mount for another 24hr; and in total, tat is 72 hrs!! Super "on" rite? He so tired already, but still give us drills @ 2300! haiz..)

Did duty until 0700 this morning loh.. was super shacked, and therefore went to sleep a while till the morning shift came! Then as usual, had a 15 min debrief (becos my officer long-minded mahz) and then its pack and go! Took bus home and now in front of my computer typing this blogpost!

Oh.. you know something? I have NOT finished my Christmas shopping yet.. still got a few more ppl to buy! Man.. I'm going to be broke this month! Haiz.. =(.. Later, going out with family to do so loh!! =) but nevermind! I love shopping!! =)

So sianz!!

Its another day liaoz.. A day after the Youth Camp and I'm missing it already!! *sob*.. ok.. I shall stop raving abt the Youth Camp or I wld cry even further lah.. haiz..

Went back to camp today for standby frm 0800-1700.. quite boring.. becos' when I first went there, I saw my shift mates doing duty.. and after tat, they dismounted and went home, whilst I was in camp.. haiz.. though there were other ppl whom I can talk too, but they are not as close to me as my shift mates.. somehow I felt so "extra" being with another shift.. It juz feels so weird!

Had breakfast this morning, so decide to skip lunch and juz sleep in bunk! So there I slept for like 3 hrs.. frm 1130-1400! Then like can't sleep after tat.. so toss and turn.. and finally manage to sleep a while.. before I was like playing with my N-gage phone!

Then my friend told me tat there is an owl in the sgt bunk's toilet.. and thereofre I very kaypoh.. so when I went there, it was there! Staring huge in our eyes loh! Then my RSM came up and like wanted to save the owl! He asked sumone to bring a pillowcase to catch the owl in order to free it.. and my bro in camp, Sidney, sacrifice his pillowcase for it lah.. how nice rite =).. and soon, it started to fly but my RSM's reaction was so fast, tat he manage to catch the owl and then, he ask someone to take photo using the squadron's camera.. and he made a joke over it.. he said muz name the photo "Photo of how my RSM is so brave to catch an owl!".. funny guy! ha.. a experience tat will always be remembered! My airbase got lots of weird stuff sia!! hmm..

Then its time to finally book out and I feel like a free man sia!

Well.. wat do u koe? I'm now surfing the net, as well as doing some other stuff.. think will stay up late tonite, becos u koe y? I'm on OFF tml!! yeh!! but the downside is tat I have to bk in 2300 tml nite for my LAST duty of Year 2005, and tat is on Saturday.. and I got a good feeling abt the mounting! It will be a somewhat relax one I hope? =)

Youth Camp 2005 - A Success!!

Well.. this is my FIRST Youth Camp since I've attended church frm a young age! Never in my life I've done such a thing! School orientation camps I've been to many, but a Youth Camp? Never!! And I'm so so glad I've attended one, and I DUN regret doing so! Because of the following.. (The following is an account of what happen over the past 3 days!).. so stay tuned..

It was 0300 waking up to do my dismounting duty on Mon (12/12) and went back to bunk to send arms and stuff.. and by 0600, left camp for home.. took a cab home becos' rushing for time..

Reached home, unpack and ate a bit of breakfast.. before bathing and buy a Sausage MacMuffin with egg burger (frm MacDonald's of course) becos' still not very full frm the breakfast I had at home! Then left for HarbourFront.. reached there a bit late.. but fortunately by the time they've asked my whereabouts, I was at the station liaoz..

Then soon, we left for Sentosa Ferry Terminal on the Sentosa Bus.. At about 1000, the boat left for St. John's Island! Had a fun time taking photos with Alvin's camera in the ferry.. (Will upload pics of it soon on the net! Give me time!! I'm busy ya koe!)

The ferry moved really slow, so therefore, we took like an hour to reach the island.. Some of them slept, but then, most of us cldn't! I think its becos' most of us (or maybe I was the one lah!) am excited! So ya..

When we went there, the photographer (Caesar) came to took photos and the Camp commandant, who was my bro, Andrew, came over and welcome us.. Then he brought us to our campsite, which was abt 5-10 mins walk frm the jetty! Everyone was like carrying their things, so it was quite tiring lah.. becos not used to the terrain mah (or was it juz me?)

Soon, we reached the camp site and I was so shocked to see the bunks and the cookhouse! It was quite not as bad as I thought lah! My imagination was actually worse, becos' my mum went the previous day to the island to help out to clean and stuff, and she said tat the place is like not so suitable to stay and stuff.. So ya..

And then we settled down and stuff.. and then, the worst nightmare came! Everything sounded so NS-rish.. it sounded and looked as if it was my first day of my BMT (Basic Military Training), which happened last August! Terms like cookhouse, white bedsheets and blankets, lights out 2300 and other stuff.. its really so NS-rish.. My other bro, Alvin and me was juz like scratching our brains out lah! This is too similar to NS!! Ahhhh... *screams in terror*..

Sat down after tat in the cookhouse and we were given a briefing on the camp (as to wat to expect and stuff).. and guess wat! I was appointed a team leader of a team! This means tat I have to like take care of my team's welfare and also at the same time, lead a good example and also conduct the morning devotion material to the team! This devotion material especially took me like 2hrs of my time to complete it.. not to mention tat the questions are sumtimes hard to answer!
But then, I felt tat this is my responsibility, so I had to do it well and good!

Games were then played.. Wet games to be precise! Oh.. did I mention tat we did a leopard crawl too (which was crawling on mud!!) and all thanx to my other buddy, Joshua Gouw, who was the game marshall for tat station, he smeared mud on my head (for fun!) 2 times and the photographer took the photos! Oh man..

Dinner was then served. Oh my!! Did I tell you tat the chief cook is the best? Her food though not world class, but its definately good enough to eat, and for me to say good enough, it means tat the person's food has a certain standard!

Night falls and it was a time of preaching and Ministry time by our Camp Speaker, Pastor Apelles Poh.. fwah! I tell you.. this is one memorable nite! I suddenly felt tat I need to draw closer to God and tat nite, God really drew me closer to Him! I started to praise Him like I never experience before.. I was speaking in tongues after like so long! Later, Pastor Apelles Poh asked if anyone wanted prayer.. Suddenly, I was like so bold to lift up my hands.. of course I was scared but then, this thing kept welling inside me, so I have no choice but to go up for prayer.. Then again, I spoke in tongues.. Leaders of the church (who was the adults who followed us to the camp) came to lay hands on people and prayed.. I waited for a while, and then suddenly, someone cupped my ears and prayed.. and then I realise it was Aunty Agnes who prayed for me.. What she prayed really spoke to my heart, till the point tat I juz broke down and cry.. its the Holy Spirit's touch tat convicted me! That nite, I can safely say tat I drew another step closer to Him!

Then daybreak.. and I woke up like 6.15am to freshen up and then, I went out of the bunk and walked to a quiet corner (which happen to be abt 500m away frm our campsite) and sat down and juz prayed.. but somehow, I juz cldn't concentrate.. I didn't know why.. but anyway, I prayed for the general stuff as well as also being the guide of our discussion in the devotion later in the morning.. And seeing tat the time was too early, I decide to do Day 3's devotion material and finish up with it..

So the devotion time came.. was nervous at first.. but then along the way, all thanx to Jeslyn (a Youth leader) tat she helped me along the way.. so its not so bad after all! It then ended.. and its time for games.. played the games and then got back to cookhouse for preaching.. this time after the preaching, Pastor Apelles Poh told us to pray for one another.. I first prayed with my bro, Andrew, and we prayed simultanously for each other.. Andrew really touched the heartstrings of my heart (as in as if he knew my needs and he prayed according to it!) and I prayed lah.. then after tat, I turn round and pray for a newcomer (who is a non-Christian) and then something tells me to pray for Joshua Tan as well.. and so I obeyed n prayed for him.. After the prayer session ended, it was lunch..

After lunch, it was a free and easy time.. Went back to bunk and talk to another bro of mine, Ash, and hugging his sleeping bag at the same time! I tell you.. his sleeping bag is like magic! Once u hug it, u wld not be able to wake up! Its tat comfortable!! Thanx bro for lending me the sleeping bag! =)

Then after which, went back to Cookhouse for the rest of the sermon.. again, there was a ministry time after the sermon.. This time, I was a bit afraid, as in I waited for sumone to make the first move before I did and thank goodness sumone did! I then did it and commit myself unto the Lord loh! And I'm so glad I made tat first move! =)

Then talent nite preparation came! Man.. isn't it fun! We had lots of LAME ideas coming out frm my team, but thank goodness, it worked at times! And my buddy, Joshua Gouw, was also part of the team! Thank God! And he suggested something abt being a Philipino maid in the story tat we cooked up.. and wat can I say? He's the MAN! and to add more "spice" to the role he's acting (the Philipino maid tat is!), we decide to ask him to take off his shirt and put on a sarong and make it like a dress!! All thanx to Hannah who tied the sarong for him.. and wat can I say? He looks hot and sexy! ha.. =P

Then nite games came and we were even though tired, but we still perservered on to play! Fortunately we had a fun game, called "Candle light wars".. The objective of the game is tat the defender (chosen frm the team) is suppose to like prevent anyone who come to your home base and starts to burn ur string down! The rest of the members will try to burn the other team's string!
So I was the defender.. you shld have seen how hard I try to defend my base.. I was like blowing like mad lah.. I even blew off my team-mate's candle light as I dun koe when the enemy will attack.. so the best is to blow.. and I juz told them the reason why I blew off the light and they juz laugh! I juz told them tat I was "sensitive to light" and then they will laugh their hearts out lah!.. Hahaha
I blowed till like until my throat was dry! Fortunately also, I wore my PT attire.. so though I sweat, it was a little bit more cooling!
Had Chin chow (3 cups to be exact!) and wat can I say? Its good and refreshing, since after such a vigarous sport! Phew!!

Then came this morning.. after the area cleaning and stuff, we were gathered and had a debrief session, where my bro, Andrew, gave his camp commandant's farewell speech (according to him, he said he almost cried.. ya.. sensitive bro of mine, but then I dun think he cried leh!) and then my Pastor prayed for us and then we packed up and left..

This was the last time where we will see the bunks, the cookhouse.. not to mention the nature tat surrounds us (birds, eagles, trees, crickets, sea, etc..).. and also the fun, laughter and company of each other, which we had over the past 3 days.. At first, whilst leaving tat place, I was a bit 'sian' due to the lack of sleep.. But then as I wrote this, I write this with a heavy heart! Felt so sad tat this whole event is over! How I wish tat this cld start all over again!! haiz.. *tears*

Spiritual aspect aside.. If you read my bro, Andrew, blog, you wld see tat he has much more emotions than me! I guess its the company of close friends in Generation Joshua tat make this camp so special and wanting to re-live every moment of it!

From the above paragraphs, you can see Andrew and I had sumthing in common! We are very sensitive guys, who welled up emotions easily! haiz..

Anyway, Youth Camp 2005 @ St. John's Island was a success and I wanna thank all those ppl who made this possible..
Thanks also to the group of Ezekial, who was a GREAT team to lead and probably mentor to some ppl.
But most importantly, I wanna thank God for giving me the opportunity to go to this Youth Camp, becos believe it or not, this Camp is very much a divine event for me! It can also be considered as a breakthrough for me this year!!
Oh!! Do you koe tat I actually tot of going for the Youth Camp when it first started, but then I actually reject the idea becos' of the lack of leave and stuff.. but then, somehow before 1 week of registration, I suddenly thought of tat I've got off to clear.. so muz why I ask my officer whether is this possible.. and I leave it to the Will of God as to whether I shld attend this camp! And true enuf, before I sent the SMSes, I prayed and God answered my prayer! So guess tat God really wants me to go to the camp to be metamorphosised! Praise God! Hallelujah! =)

The Day We Lost 2 Men!

I write this blogpost with much sadness and heavy heart.. details later in this blog.. so read on..

Yesterday duty was quite shacked lah.. one of my bunk mate got some mild flu and stuff.. then he went to go and see MO.. so he got 1 day MC.. then he said he dun want to come back next day, 8am-5pm for standby, so he take off.. some chao keng fellow huh!! Felt so pissed off tat day.. dun koe why.. probably its becos not enuf ppl and he got MC.. then he also like sarcastically like laugh at me.. so I 'suan' him back by calling him chao keng!! Argghh.. juz talking of it makes me mad.. arghh! enough said!

Anyway, my duty was quite shiong at first.. becos its like I continuous duty frm 9am-1pm then I was scheduled one foot prowl after tat (which I didnt koe at first until my foot prowl buddy told all abt it to me!).. but then, all thanx to one fellow shift mate, he 'jia' the person who was suppose to take over me, for like 10 mins.. dun koe wat he is doing lah.. and then tat person who was suppose to take over me went to take his lunch.. so I estimated tat by 1.30pm, I wld then start to rest.. true enuf, I was correct!! And I was super pissed off lah!! Haven't you heard tat a hungry man is an angry man?

Then I suddenly got the news of the pending victim's verdict on the 'stunt' tat they did last time during duty! It was so sad.. If I were to think it further, I think I wld juz cry lah at tat moment in time! Cannot state wat 'stunt', becos' its military secret.. but then, wat I can tell you all is tat it is so serious tat they kenna send to DB (Detention Barracks) for it!! so ya..

Why I was sad is becos of a the following reason..

One of the victim (let's juz call him AW) is actually a very intelligent student frm a top boy's sch and top JC in Singapore.. but then, due to his carelessness, he committed the stunt with another guy.. so ya.. so for his stunt, he kenna send to DB for a period of 2 wks! But fortunately, his stunt wld have no record, or else, he can't go to university liaoz! haiz.. =(
Another victim (let's call him SS), you can say is tat this is his 2nd offence.. so there is more than 1000 reasons to put him into DB as this is the one of the most "tuo-zong" stunt tat you can ever perform in the SAF! And for this stunt, he is awarded a DB period of 3 wks!

Then in the evening, I was off duty and was at the main table teaching Mingjun abt MS Excel (Mingjun was CISCO, but then he was awarded 10B status, so therefore he can only do table duty!), when suddenly, my sgt pye to me via the pyset and ask me whether I knew how to go to the AW's place.. and so happen tat no one in the shift koes how to go to AW's place, becos they dun stay ard tat area.. so I was the only one which stayed in AW's area lah.. dun koe how come they found out.. so ya.. In the end, after much discussion and permission granted by my officer, I went out with my staff sgt of my squadron, to go send the DB notification letters to both AW and SS families!

I was super scared in giving directions to AW's hse, though I knew in my mind where is the place.. but wat I was afraid was actually the road.. scared told my staff sgt the wrong info and make the wrong turn.. so all along, I was praying along the way to ask God to lead me the way.. and after like 30 mins of travelling (you may ask why take so long.. becos' the vehicle we are sitting is only maximum allow 50km/h.. so ya.. almost fell asleep lah!) and being a little road-smart and some trial and error, we finally reached AW's hse.. and my staff sgt went to talk to AW's parents abt the matter, and pass the letter to them.. but I was so surprise tat both AW's parents did NOT cry or anything like tat!! They juz accept it as it is!! Machiam like talking to a friend.. but then, after we went, dun koe whether back in the home whether they cry or not lah.. tat one we dun koe becos we was not there to witness it!! .. Maybe they are trying to put on a brave front in front of us, but sob in their house?? I dun koe!! But wat I do is juz to pray for them and hope tat they wld be comforted.. haiz.. *starts to feel so much for this family!*.. =(

Then we went to SS hse to pass the letter.. but then no one was at home.. so we decide to proceed back to camp and do this letter thing another day.. as to when, I dun koe.. I was not there to witness it..

So by like 8.30pm, I return back to camp and hoping tat the staff parade is like almost formed up and half done.. thought dun need to do mah.. but never did I expect tat it has not started.. so I have to attend it instead lah.. haiz.. =(

Slept for like an hr, before proceeding down to Toranto Gate to do duty till like 2.30am.. woke up at 6.35am to eat breakfast.. and by 7am this morning, we did some marshalling work.. all in the name of duty at Toranto on weekdays! Haiz.. =(

Came back.. watched VCR programmes (almost fell asleep).. went to sleep for 2.5 hrs, woke up, pack my remaining stuff for Youth Camp nxt wk, watched TV and had MacDonald's for dinner, had cell, on computer and internet.. and viola! Now on this blogpost.. haiz..

Got to go and sleep liaoz! FYI: It's now 0100 in the morning (as in when I finish typing this blogpost) and got to wake up like 0530 in the morning to go back to camp for P1.. haiz.. sianz..

Ok then.. dun think will blog anytime soon for this coming wk, becos' it wld be busy wk for me.. if you are lucky, I wld blog on 14/12 (wed) abt my Youth Camp ya.. but no promises.. see how first!! so ya.. =)

Rantings? I dun think so.. =P

Duties were the usual yesterday.. but dun koe why.. felt so shacked yesterday becos' of my duty! 12 hrs only leh.. and I felt tat I was like on 18 hr duty! Shoulders start to ache frm the load of the SBO.. super tired lahz..

Had some really friendly interactions with 1 of the escort and some of the contractors.. they are really friendly ppl loh.. probably they are abt my age, so therefore can interact further.. 1 of the escort was so comfortable with me, tt he told me wat he did yesterday and stuff at camp.. see how well our interactions can get? Think I'm gonna make another new friend soon in camp =)

Oh.. some very weird thing happen in camp yesterday whilst I was on duty! One of the camp personnels actually brought his child into my camp to work.. but then, our rules of camp is tat no child is allowed, unless special permission is given by a higher authority! So 2LT Isaiah took hold of the situation, and then check with my OC.. During the minutes of waiting, I got curious and so I ask him a few questions..
He said tt becos the next day got audit, therefore, his officer call him to come back and finish up the report.. the officer told him tat he 'die die' muz come back and complete.. he of course explained his situation, but then the officer didnt care.. so he no choice have to bring his child back to camp and complete his work! So then u koe the kapo me, then begun asking abt his wife.. he said tat the precious wk all 3 of them got food poisoning.. so last wk, his wife stayed at home.. so then, his wife has exhaused her leave, so she has no choice but to go back to work.. so tat leaves him alone.. he wanted to take no-pay leave, but then the offcier didn't allow.. then I ask him abt his mother.. he said tat his mother is also working and he didn't want to trouble his other relatives! so ya.. haiz.. guess tat the army job is also not an easy one huh? =P

And then this morning while I was doing duty, one of the base personnel actually like mouth bad words of 2LT Isaiah Low (my acting officer for yesterday).. This all started becos this base personnel not happy tat my officer told her off, as to not to illegally stop to get off the car, becos' my friend told her a lot of times liaoz.. but she still refuses to heed the word.. so my friend decide to use a higher authority (ie, my officer) to tell her loh.. in the end, he kenna 'bitten' back (ie, gossip being said abt him at the back of him!.. of course, I didn't let him koe.. juz in case he took offence! But frankly speaking, my shift (at least my bunk mates) hold him in high regard, as in the amt of welfare he gives to us n stuff.. and as a matter of fact, we have written a chart for all the officers, and 2LT Isaiah uniamously was placed No. 1 on the chart! Tat's how much we respect him! =)

Then after we dismounted, my friend suddenly asked me whether I want to go and watch 'Aeonflux'.. since I had in mind tat I want to catch this movie, I agreed lah.. but then, for this movie, I wld only give it 2 stars out of 5! The action is not say a lot.. but I like the way she fight!.. u shld have see the way she fights! Power sia! She is the next Lora Craft to be!

However, becos I did not sleep in the afternoon b4 going out, therefore, I actually fell asleep at the middle of the show.. my eyes cld hardly open! In the end, I had to ask my friend to explain to me the story.. ha..

Then after tat, we got hungry, and one of our friends hinted very strongly abt eating Galare waffles since its half priced today for the waffles! so in the end, to make him happy, we obliged lah! So 3 of us share 1 big waffle (together with a scoop of ice-cream).. we had a hard time choosing the ice-cream flavour, since one doesn't want chocolate.. so we had to oblige and settle for our common flavour, "Orange Sorbet".. Original price was $8.60.. so half price shld be $4.30.. but then we were wrong when the bill came! it was $6.30.. becos apparently, the ice-cream is NOT half price.. only the waffles is! so ya.. felt cheated.. but then the waffles is good.. so never mind lah.. =).. And we were so hungry, tat within 10 mins, we finish the whole plate of waffles and left Galere!! Fast rite? We walk a bit of PS.. then we went home loh!

Came home, had a fantastic dinner and now, using com to do this blog! What a day!

Ok lahz ppl.. My eyes are closing.. need to sleep liaoz.. sianz.. tml got OC standby area! And speaking abt standby, my standby timing has been changed frm 2359 to 2330 and now frm 2330 to 2300! Its practically earlier by an hour! tats really bad lah! So sometimes I dun think will book out, becos no point! Reach home at 1900 and by 2130-2145, need to leave home liaoz! tats bad rite? so no pt.. waste money and time! so ya.. =(.. so if you dun see any updates, tat means I'm in camp either on P1 or duty loh.. sorry for the inconvenience folks!

The BIG news!

Well.. a couple of BIG news to update you all.. Anyway, read on to find out more!

After I bathe and ate my lunch (at the same time, watch the recorded version of "Tong Xin Yuan" which I've missed the latest episode becos I was on duty!), I went out to Heeren to shop for Christmas presents! But trust you me!! I like shop the whole Heeren, and there is NOTHING special to be given as a Christmas present! So saw it was running late.. therefore, I made my way to church for church practice..

When I reached there, I tot I was late.. but it turned out in a such a way tt I'm actually the first to arrive, besides Andrew lah..

Then the practice goes on juz fine, of course no piano for me again.. this time not I late.. but then their service time is the same.. so ya.. played by feel in service itself..

Service started and the worship was quite above average, as it ends on a high note! Kudos to you Andrew for being Spirit-led! Felt tat the songs chosen coincide with the sermon topic today! =)

Sermon today at church really spoke to each and every Youth in Generation Joshua (with me being no exception!)..The sermon was indeed very tough one to bear, but nevertheless, I wld try my best to follow wat was preached today though it is tough!

Juz then before the sermon starts, I finally tot of an idea.. I currently got 3 offs to clear.. so after much consideration and discussion with my officer (I actually sent him a msg tats 5 msg long!), he gave me the green light of attending the Youth Camp 2005 with of course, offs and leave being applied! Yippie!! =).. Well.. when I sent the msg over to my officer, I believe tat my 3 off were for a reason.. never did I expect it to use for Church Camp!

Actually wanted to like before I sent the msg to my officer, I committed this whole matter to God.. I prayed a simple prayer tat if its His Will for me to attend the Youth Camp, let NOTHING be a barrier! And Amen! Nothing was a barrier! Everything was smooth-going!!

So when I told my bros, Andrew, Nat & Ash, tat I was going to Youth camp, they were elated lah! You shld have see the look on Andrew's face!! Can see tat he is super happy! ha.. I wonder!!
In the afternoon, Jeslyn juz asked me whether I'm able to attend Youth Camp and I said no.. but when I gave her the form, hohoho.. she was happy and surprised lah!! =)
This is indeed a MIRACLE!! All glory to God!!

Then went over to Cuppage Foodcourt to eat dinner and I ate some Hakka Yong Tau Foo Soup.. Carlise recommended me to eat it becos she said she always see my parents eating it.. so I tot tat it was nice.. but after eating it, its not so nice after all!! Quite horrible and bland actually!

After tat, I attended the Music and Sound mtg, conducted by my Pastor and my Pastor's wife! My Pastor's wife was the Worship Coordinator.. so ya.. tats why she chaired the meeting!

A lot of stuff was said.. but thru'out the mtg, one thing was said by my Pastor's wife which was quite discouraging, but I koe its for the good of the church as well as for my spritual well-being!

Remember last time I mentioned to you all tat I'm proposing to be a worship leader in church? Ahh.. the verdict came out today during the mtg! Out of so many ppl, my pastor's wife juz spoke her mind.. was a bit embarassed lah.. it was not like among youths only, but with quite a few others frm the adult congregation.. felt quite strange lah..
Anyway, my verdict was I CAN'T be a worship leader juz as yet.. reason being is tat I'm still in NS and simply sometimes do not have the time to seek the Lord for wat songs to sing and stuff.. which is actually the correct thing to be done by the worship leader each week!.. but then, when I'm in NS, I wld not be able to fulfill this.. so therefore, she said tat I wld only be a worship leader ONCE I ORD.. and tat is like 10 mths lah..
When I first heard the verdict, I tell you.. my heard was like being broken to thousand pieces.. I had this feeling inside me tat my world was crumbling down and stuff.. but of course, not at the verge of crying lah.. but instead, I felt more embarassed, becos' she is like announcing this to the other members who did not koe my proposed situation as a worship leader.. so ya..

Well.. guess tat I have to wait till then lah.. but in the meantime, I still can do my part in serving Him by playing the keyboard for Him during service wat.. so its not so bad after ahh! haiz..

After the mtg, Andrew actually somehow consoled me over the issue lah.. so ya.. thanx bro! No worries.. I won't like do stupid stuff like committing suicide or attending church!! I wld still be the same Abriel! =)

Then, all were scattered.. and ppl were having their own nite activities.. so its like a grp of us after the Worship and Sound mtg, were juz being scattered.. in the end, a grp of us (han loong, nat, ash, andrew, alvin and myself) first want to go to TCC for some coffee and chat.. but then no place.. so I suggested Starbucks at PS, then they scold me siao! So in the end, we settle for Coffee Bean..

As you koe me lah.. I'm those type who likes to try out for new beverages.. so I tried their new drink, "Peppermint Mocha Ice Blended".. and wats my verdict? PERFECT!! It has quite a stong taste of Peppermint, and with the Mocha Ice Blend, it is simply heavenly! It has a similar taste as Peppermint Chip Ice Cream.. so if you like Peppermint Chip Ice-cream, then this is the drink for you! Moreover, it is served with a mini peppermint candy-stick.. so this adds more flavour into it lah! Isn't this interesting? You simply muz try out this new drink frm Coffee Bean! Its a die die must try rating frm the food guru himself! =).. cost is only $6 per cup.. cheap and good! =).. so I dun care.. you all muz go and try ah.. ha.. =)

Oh.. at the coffee bean counter, the first 4 of the clique tat went to coffee bean were all 'A'.. first, it was Andrew, then me (which is Abriel), then Ash, then Alvin.. and surprisingly, all of us put the same initial, A, on our cups.. Andrew was the exception! His is 'AL'.. haiz.. so its like Alvin make a joke saying the instead of F4, we got A4 or 4 A's.. ha.. =)

So in the end, I let everyone try, and in the end, han loong bought the same drink as me, becos he said it was nice! so ya.. then Nat was the only one without a drink.. actually he keh siao.. dun want to spend money.. juz want to live on other ppl's drink.. ha.. tats Nat for you! ha..

So during the coffee session, we chatted lah.. cracked jokes here and there and shared some real funny moments tat we each had! so ya.. had a great time though! At one time, we were talking abt Andrew's Youth Camp prelude message (since he is the Youth Camp Commander).. and somehow, it led to the conversation of our school mottos! So coincidentally, Andrew & Ash had the same school motto! so ya.. then we were making jokes out of our school mottos and stuff lah..

Coffee Bean is closing soon and they somehow chase us out lah, by telling us tat they are closing in like 10 mins time.. so ya.. we got our butts moving and then we went home..

Walk to PS to take NEL with Alvin.. Alvin not going home.. he watching 'Chicken Little' with his family at midnight.. so ya.. chatted along with him along the way.. so ya.. Hey bro! Tnx 4 hearing my woes! ha.. your listening ear is very much appreciated! =)

Then came home, on my computer, log on to internet and now on this blog!

Oh.. need to sleep liaoz.. its getting late! Gonna wake up early for family activities tml! gotta wake up bright and early!! haiz..

Oh.. bking in tml nite.. so ya.. at least can spend some family time with family!! =).. oh.. tml got shopping again! Yey! Shop for my mum's babysitting children present.. so ya.. I think at the same time, I do a bit of my Christmas shopping too! =).. see how lah..

My first mounting after my status!

Yesterday was my first duty after my status and what a way to start it!! It was unbelivable!!

Breakfast was good!! It was American breakfast (scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, hash brown and baked beans!).. its been a while since breakfast was this good!

Then after which, John came over and asked me whether I'm able to attend his 21st birthday celebration.. I reluctantly rejected him.. so sad.. imagine ppl 21st birthday you reject.. tat is so sad lah.. =(.. but no choice.. My priority is my family first! Moreover, its like 1900 then he start his dinner, and now, my camp bk in timing is 2330.. like tat where can enjoy to the fullest? so ya..

Then suddenly a big shocking news came.. and all of us RPs (frm the whole of 2 shifts; both mounting and dismounting) were then and there do wat we do during contingency drills.. the situation was chaotic, and RPs were quickly amd swiftly deployed to handle the situation.. of course, tat includes me!! I was being dep[loyd and at the same time, I ran as fast as I could with my rifle and SBO.. machiam like being in BMT running for my standard obstacle course (SOC).. the situation was quite "tuo-zong" (hokkien for 'big matter').. can't really state wats the matter, as its maybe a confidential thing and I dun wanna breach the rule of revealing military stuff, since these days military stuff is sensitive.. so the above is all tat I wld think I'm allowed to say! But after this whole matter, I was shacked to the core lah.. so then, I went back to restroom and rest while waiting for my detailing of my duty..

Thank goodness, the first 4 hrs of my duty was table duty.. this is exactly wat I did during my reign as an admin personnel (who is on status).. so ya.. so I guess tat I'm more 'zai' in my table duty liaoz.. not tat I'm 'yaya' or anything like tat.. but I feel tat I'm more confident in the table stuff, and the best thing is tat it is getting more and more enjoyable each time I do table duty.. dun koe why.. maybe I hv a trait of a Public Relations Officer.. ha.. =P

But as time passes, I was feleing very fatigue and sleepy during the duty.. my legs were aching and almost at the stage where my legs got numb.. its tat bad lah!! but thank goodness, it did not last long.. the crowd and 'business' subside with time loh..

Went for abt a 3 hr sleep, before I was awakened by the slightly noisy newly transferees shift memebers frm shift 2.. he was talking a bit too loudly, and it doesn't help tat I'm slightly conscious.. so ya.. *frowns*

Went for foot prowl and did a 2 hr armed duty and a 2 hr table duty.. to pass the 2 long hrs as an armed personnel, chatted with my shift mate, Anli, abt stuff.. we chatted things tat are general and he gave me some tips of how to tackle a problem tat has been bugging me all these while.. so thank you Anli!!

Then, its back to the table and then do duty in an air-con environment for 2 hrs! For the hwole time I've been at the table (ie, since morning when I did table duty), the officer for shift 3 (whose name is 2LT Isaiah Low) has been inside typing sumthing or he doing other stuff.. and the whole time, I find him a nice guy lah.. a quiet fellow who looks quite strict at first, but after some minor interaction with him, I find him to be a nice guy.. At one time, I asked my sgt which JC he is frm (he is one yr younger than me!), and my sgt said RJC (Raffles Junior College).. and I said RI (Raffles Institution) muz be his secondary school, and my sgt said yes! Fwah!! Didnt koe this officer is so brainy! ha.. but he's a really nice guy lah..

My current shift officer dismounted yesterdat and he is on off for 2 days (inclusive yesterday), becos he mounted 48hrs straight, becos of the lack of officers.. so ya.. so its 2 officers rotating among themselves lah.. quite poor thing lah.. so anyway, during the rotation, we wld meet more of this 2LT Isaiah Low guy.. so ya.. hope to koe him more! Always wanted to ask him whether he's Christian, becos I wld think tat only a Christian wld give their children or sumthing a name like 'Isaiah'!! You wld seldom see those non-Christian give their son this name.. so ya.. will find out more frm my friend who is in his shift.. see whether can source anything out frm him.. ha.. *gossip*

But even though I got an air-con duty for 2 hrs, but then I miss my show, "Tong Xin Yuan".. this chinese serial I have been following very closely on weekdays, is ending its serial soon.. and today happened to be the 2nd last episode.. but then I can't watch it =(.. no one wants to switch duty with me.. so sad =(.. but thank God for technology and my small intelligence.. tat I pre-set to record the show on my VCR yesterday!! ha.. so I can watch it over the wkend or sumthing! Yippie!

Then did a gate duty during the wee hrs of the morning (0500-0700), and then went back to the restroom and sleep until dismount!

Dismount came back to home.. on my computer for a while, and then log on to internet, and ta-ta.. I'm connected to the internet and now doing this blogpost!!

Going to church later for service.. wohohoh.. been missing hcurch and the youths' company.. wonder wat night activities they are hving tml.. hmm.. anyway, its my bro, Andrew, leadinf worshi ptml.. so ya.. so excited to see him lead sia! Never play for him b4.. ha.. so ya.. hope he does well for His glory loh!!

Will blog more either toniteor wat regarding my night activities lah.. so in the meantime, will log off net and bathe and get ready to leave for church! Wohoho..

And did I mention tat I have a long weekend and only book in on Sunday night? Shiok rite =) ok.. gtg liaoz..
