And you thought all manuals are foolproof!!

I love my aircon! It just arrived and installed yesterday, but instead of just a planned 3 hrs sleep with it, I ended up sleeping with it for 5.5 hrs!!

This happened because of the instruction user manual for the aircon.. I spend like 2 hrs trying to figure out how to set the timer on my aircon remote, and at 0030 hrs, I gave up (because I started at 2230 hrs), and then just go to sleep with the aircon on..

When I came to work this morning, I asked my colleague whether she is using the same type of aircon, and thank God, she said she did!.. I then told her my difficulty, and she enlightened me on the process of setting the aircon timer.. Then I was like, "how you koe? The manual doesn't teach you step by step! Or at least give you a more detailed explanation!"
If you guys want to know how simple is the explanation for the timer function in the provided instruction manual, take a look at the picture below:

If you are like me who has never had an aircon set before, then you would know my difficulty! All I can say is that the manual is NOT user-friendly!

Then I just slept at 0030 hrs, and woke up at 0600 hrs, to prepare to leave house for work at 0700 hrs.. and guess what.. At nite, I still got IPT.. Die liaox loh.. When I don't have enough sleep, an exercise would tire me out very easily.. haix..

Oh well.. I have asked my mum to test my colleague's method and it worked! So ya..

All I need now is my ZzzzzzzZZZZZZZzzzzzzZ,

The Aftermath

After 2 days of hard work over the loonngg weekend (Sun & Mon), my project with my 2 other colleagues is finally done!.. However, the final test is tomorrow or the day after.. That will determine whether our 2 days work will pay off!

Real travel or just NATO?

I have received word today that I may travel to Taiwan for a business trip somewhere in June 2009. But the keyword is that, there are only plans for me to travel.. No confirmed word at this moment whether I need to travel or not.. It may very well be a NATO (No-Action-Talk-Only) thing or it maybe true that I would go..

No one knows.. Even my boss cannot say as to whether I need/confirm to go.. And you know what's worst? At this point in time, if really my travel "suay-suay" falls within my church camp period, then "ho-say" liaox loh.. dun need to go liaox.. sad =(
This church camp is considered a special one, so if I cannot go, it would very much be a waste!

Oh well.. I have informed the appropriate people regarding this matter, and they are prepared.. so ya.. Haix..

Just finish talking..

Look at the time of this post.. I have just finished talking on MSN with Kian Hong (my workplace colleague).. He is 4 yrs older than me, and we are only colleagues like for only a year plus, and today on MSN, I did talk a LOT to him.. Mostly work stuff (ie, to provide a listening ear) and also advice me on things like how I should for my future and all.. What he said really triggered my train of thoughts..

Everytime we talk, I feel so much that I'm like his blood young brother, and he is my older brother, giving me advice and all.. so ya.. glad that our friendship has become more meaningful in a way..

Okay like.. very shag liaox.. need to sleep..

Finally.. An air-con!

Blame it on such heavy advertising that
we are getting this aircon for our home!

Its so hot that my family decides to split the cost for the payment of this set of aircon unit.. We have placed an order for a System 3 inverter unit, with the necessary accessories and additional installation work.

We plan to pay by installment, and when the cost is split, it is not very significant.. but with my current financial situation, every money counts.. so ya.. Guess I have to sacrifice a little for my comfort.. haha..

Oh well.. My aircon is arriving exactly one week from now.. So just endure a little while more, and I can say that I'm gearing towards the direction of being a polar bear.. haha..

A happy meal with family!

Food we had for dinner at Thai Accent, Vivocity

(Tom Yum Clear Soup, Fried Beef with Basil Leaves,
Mixed Vegetables in Claypot, Papaya Salad,
Appetizer Combo with Peanut Salad)

Had a great dinner today at Thai Accent, Vivocity. It was a treat by my parents..
Of course, we had only a few dishes, but we were very full.. And how could we forget the Tom Yum Clear Soup which was so good that we ordered a big pot.. Super shiok.. If you like really sour and hot stuff, this is the soup for you! I'm serious.. This is really very very very good.. As the Thai people will say, "Aroy, Mak Mak" which means very delicious in the Thai language!!

I think I'm beginning to like Thailand.. Not because of the country, but because of its food! The food really suit my tastebuds.. Sour and spicy is the way to go for me!! *I'm starting to salivate already!*

Then, we went to see some air-conditioning sets at Best Denki to find out the prices and all.. The weather is just getting too hot for comfort.. Even a sun-bear like myself will need some air-conditioning.. so ya..

After that, went home and then now blog this blogpost loh.. See.. so hardworking hor.. haha..

Its another new work week tml again.. Haix..

My crab-craving satisfied!!

The Star of tonight's dinner:
Black Pepper Crabs @ Eng Seng, Still Road, Joo Chiat

I had satisfied my crab craving today.. I have always wanted to try the black pepper crabs from this so-called famous stall.. And today, a group of us went (Tjow family, Greg, Jaslyn, Carlise, Christina & myself)..

My verdict? Its nice, but it could have been better if the crabs are bigger and steadier, the sauce less sweet and more spicy (in terms of the amount of black pepper)..
But ultimately, I like it, and if you ask me whether I would go back a second time? I would.. so ya.. do try it if you can! The crabs are really fresh, and the sauce is ichiban.. =)

And guess who we met when we were there? Wendy & Tiffany (close ex-church mates).. haha..
Carlise, Tjow & Jaslyn had agreed that it is abnormal today at this place we eat crabs, because usually, you will have to wait for at least 15 mins for a place to sit, and people will be pressing you to give up your seats, the minute you finish your stuff.. But today, we didn't have such a situation.. so ya.. according to their speculation, it maybe due to their competition, House of Seafood @ 180, Yio Chu Kang, where Carlise said she ate there last week, and its comparable but much more spicier.. so ya.. oh well.. shall give it a try next time..

Then we all go for Udders ice-cream.. Had my Choya Lime Umeshu.. I tell you.. this is really very very very very good.. If you like sour stuff, and into sorbets, this is the one for you.. I was so satisfied with the flavour that I bought a pint home, but because its an alcohol flavour, this costs $15.90.. expensive but worth it.. gonna share it with my family.. =)

Bathe and got home and blog this blogpost loh..

Tommorow is Sunday, and it would be the day where my dog goes for a routine haircut, and a whole lot of other stuff will happen at VivoCity tomorrow (because this is where my dog will do her grooming).. so ya..

My Labour Day Holiday...

My Labour Day was spent with family..

Went to see my grandmother at the nursing home (but becos' of this stupid swine flu, only 2 persons were allowed to do so, and therefore, only my dad and mum went to see my grandma).. And I had to be left hot out in the sun.. haix..

Later proceeded to Tampines 1 Shopping Centre.. It was a so-so mall only (at least better than Tampines Mall & Century Square), but it still cannot compare to my favourite Suntec City Mall & Raffles City Shopping Mall..
I only like the basement level of Tampines 1 Shopping Centre, as that is where my favourite part of the shopping lies.. Cold Storage Supermarket & Food... so ya.. but then again, still cannot compare to Raffles City Shopping Mall (and I luuurrrvvveee Market Place Supermarkets). Raffles City Shopping Mall also has Marks & Spencer, but Tampines 1 don't have.. oh.. btw, did I tell you? I'm crazy over Marks & Spencer breakfast cereals (esp. the berries one.. very nice.. For ppl who like sour stuff - like me, would love it).. so ya..

After 1 hr, decided to leave Tampines 1 Shopping Centre to Raffles City Shopping Centre (where else?!?.. haha).. and I realised that the MacDonalds there (newly opened) is 24 hrs.. what's more shocking is the Starbucks there is also 24 hrs now!! So ya.. one more place to hang out now.. haha..

Ended up at Suntec City Shopping Mall for dinner.. Gave my parents a treat @ Crystal Jade Kitchen.. We had like 6 dishes at $81 after taxes.. which is quite cheap.. here is what we've ordered:

(a) Marinated Jellyfish & Chicken Feet
(b) Yang Zhou Fried Rice
(c) Half Roasted Duck with Curry
(d) 4 steam scallops (which were not very good actually.. not fresh.. it is frozen. Confirm, guarantee plus chop!)
(e) Sichuan Hot & Sour Soup
(f) Mix Vegetables, Seafood & Vermicelli in Claypot

** Of all, the mix vegetables, seafood & vermicelli in Claypot was the best.. I tell you.. you have to eat and then you know what I'm talking about.. It's really good!

And there was a combine deal of items (c) & (d), whereby it costs only $28.80 for these 2 items! There was one option of $28.80 also, but it is only 2 vegetables.. so ya.. not very worth it..

Glad both folks are happy.. What's most important is they 吃的开心! =).. That's all it matters..

Ok.. gtg liaox.. getting tired..

Had a very fruitful Labour Day,
