Computer sian

Peepz.. it is no joke! I stared at the computer for a straight 5 hrs (started doing it shortly after lunch!), digging past emails, organising into various categories and compiling them into an Excel sheet!

I tell you.. its sheer torture.. After I was done, I felt like taking out my eyeballs and then wash them, and fix it back again.. ha..
Ya.. I koe I'm a bit gruesome, but ya.. its tat tiring lah!

And my big boss wants it like within a week.. but what she didn't know is that I have 3 reports waiting for me to revamp and edit (almost to the stage of rewritting), and my boss hinted to me that I should pass up the reports soon.. I told her that I should give her within a week..

So ya.. lotsa paperwork lies ahead of me, and its super tiring to face the computer the whole day.. haix..

I wish I was a computer-idiot,

My Sunday..

Thanks to a few ppl.. my weekend was quite a happy one.. haha..

I bought an Adidas shorts (for running and other sports event) using my Marina Square $20 voucher, and I only pay the difference of $25.. so ya.. quite worth it lah..

My parents need to buy some health supplements, so I followed.. then something caught my eye.. Carbo Block!
I have read the reviews and brochures on it, and since I'm really getting fat, I actually bought a bottle of 270 capsules for $166.70 but before a 30% discount.. so ya..
Quite a heavy investment you must think, but if I don't do something about my weight (the nature of my current job, and also only exercise once a week [and sometimes none at all], and also my company doesn't have anymore corporate memberships for gyms..).. so might as well, invest in this and see whether it works!.. no harm trying right? =)

Then in the evening, went with family to eat some western food at O’Learys Sports Bar & Grill, Singapore Flyer (my dad got a discount voucher)... quite worth it.. 1 for 1 with a minimum order of 4 dinner sets.. so I had my tenderloin steak (medium done).. yummy! =).. but of course, I popped 2 capsules of Carbo Block before I had my meal.. so ya.. so not as sinful loh.. haha..
But the portions are not so huge and not so small.. it was of a right portion, and the food has flavour and the best thing, it is NOT too salty.. so ya.. very nice.. you should go back there and try it sometime =)..

Then went for Gelatissimo for my favourite forest berries + lemon sorbet gelato ice cream (its low fat I tell you).. so ya..

My aim is to lose as much weight as possible.. I'm increasing by the day.. so you would see me eat quite "qing tan" things from now on.. so ya.. no choice.. BMI getting higher by the day..

Came home, bathe and then watched TV.. just finish watching the show, Unexpected Access on Channel 5.. today's episode was a visitation to the funeral house and how they perform embalming of the dead bodies and all.. very interesting, though a bit gruesome at times.. =)

Ok lah.. gtg and sleep liaox..

Work tml.. haix,

All shall be revealed!

Ok peepz.. I believe for the past few days, you have been thinking hard what is po-pai-er! Maybe you can't even eat because of my tough riddle? Chey..

Anyway, read on to find out what is po-pai-er!

Last Sun (15/2), I had a Youth Leaders' meeting at church, and as usual, after mtg ended, we usually find places to eat lunch.
We decided to go to Chinatown Market/Complex to eat.

The pig trotters stored was close (thank God or else I would have put back the calories I've lost during my jogging last Saturday - 14/2 and add on a lot more!), so I've settled for Hokkien Mee.. so ya..
Then I remembered that there is this store called "Ann Chin" which is famous for its popiah skin, as it is homemade (and they have been in this business for 50 yrs!).. its really delicious (becos I tried last time!).. so because I'm a foodie and wanted the ppl who went for lunch with me (Tjow, Claudia, Greg and Jaslyn) to try and at the same time, recommend it to them, I bought 2 rolls for them to try.

Now is the best part.. the revealation of po-pai-er and how it came about!!

Anyway, I queue for like 15-20 mins before my order was taken.. so ya.. it was super long lah!! And then there was this caucasian man behind me who said his order.. the conversation is as follows:

Stallholder 1: Yes? Next order.
Caucasion Man (from the way he sounded, he could be a spainish tourist): What is yum?

*Stallholder 1 appears to not understand english, and thus, ask Stallholder 2 to take over.*

Stallholder 2: Yam roll ah?
Caucasion Man: Yes. What is yum?
Stallholder 2: Yam lah!

* I immediately diaox in my head! Ppl ask what is yam, and you answer yam!*

Me: Yes? Can I help?
Caucasion Man: What is yum? Is it fish? chicken?
Me: (*Amazed at his guess of answers!*) No. Its a kind of root, more like a vegetable.
Caucasion Man: Oh ok. Thanks.

*Silence for 20 seconds.*

Stallholder 1: So you still want?
Caucasion Man: Yes pls. Give me 1 spring roll, 1 yum roll, and 1 po-pai-er roll.
Stallholder 1: Ok.. *smiles and talk softly to Stallholder 2*.

For a good 1 minute, I was there wondering what is a po-pai-er roll. I looked up at the menu and saw only curry popiah, spring roll, yam roll, and popiah roll.. so what exactly is a po-pai-er roll? Is there such a roll in the menu which I don't know of? I was seriously thinking very hard about what is a po-pai-er roll, and after that minute, I then realise what it is.. and you koe what it is? It is actually POPIAH roll..
(You split up the syllabus and say it in an caucasian accent, and there you have it.. po-pai-er roll!!)
And I'm really surprised that the stallholder understands what he is referring to.. maybe because of the first syllabus of the word, "PO".. haha..

I was seriously laughing out loud in my own heart.. my goodness! I told this to all who were at the table having lunch with me, and they all laughed and was really amazed at such an explanation.. I can assure you.. all were dumbfounded and speechless when I asked them whether do they know what is po-pai-er!.. I'm serious! When I told them, they laugh until pengz.. haha.. so now you koe.. we must be high class.. cannot say "PO-PIAH".. must say "PO-PAI-ER"!! Say with me.. "PO - PAI - ER" !! wahaha..

But this po-pai-er very nice.. All my lunch kakkis today also tried and said that its good! Tjow even ta-powed 4 rolls home.. so you say whether nice or not loh.. haha.. =)

Another day!

Sometimes, I don't know why ppl hold Valentine Day machiam like some prized day.. go for dinner, etc, and everything is at cut throat prices!

To me, it is actually everyday can be Valentine's Day and not only today..

So Valentine's Day for me is getting up early this morning at 0645 hrs to go jogging around my neighbourhood (YES! I jogged today.. those who have seriously doubt my perseverance to run today, see this man!!), go to church in the afternoon, and once service ended, buy Subway for dinner, and then come home to watch Cable TV, accompany my dog and just talk on the phone with one of my best buddies, Sidney!..
Something he said just now during the conversation, actually tugged my heartstrings and I was seriously touched.. but its NEVER gonna be written in this blog! =) Only him and myself know what is it!..

I know my day is boring.. but what to do? I'm still a single guy on the block, and will just wonder when would that day come when I could walk down the aisle with my loved one, planning together the guest list, endless yum-sengs, endless camwhoring to the camera till my mouth is numb from all the smiling, and most impt, having that honeymoon.. haha.. hope it would be soon lah.. getting on age liaox loh.. ppl are getting married whilst I'm single.. haha.. lets just see at what age am I gonna get married bah! =)

I'm bored,

The tribe has spoken!

Yes peepz.. The tribe indeed has spoken!

I kenna voted (by 4 colleagues and 2 bosses) into Cerebos Wellness Committee 2009, which means that I have to do events management, and also brainstorming ideas for the work-life balance of the company..

Well, not exactly un-beneficial.. in fact, it can help to increase my experience, and this can be an item in my resume for future jobs (and NO! I'm not thinking of job-hopping at the moment!!)

Just that more work from now on loh.. haix.. but I should be happy in all circumstances rite.. haha..

No democracy sia!!,

Disappointed with myself again!

Well peepz.. I don't know why.. I have been thinking a LOT lately!..

Today, my thoughts brought to being demoralising myself as to whether am I really that stupid that I can't further my studies? Or is it becos I don't have the money to further my studies to get a degree (where everyone else is getting, and with just a diploma qualification that I have, is not enough at these times to get a good job!)?

And you know how demoralising it is for me to hear ppl having degree and all when ppl talk about paper qualifications?
Sometimes, I really think that I'm incapable to study, and feel inferior most of the time when people boost about their paper qualifications or simply just talk about it..

Everyone is upgrading part-time or studying full-time.. and what am I doing? Studying and do nothing? Am I good-for-nothing? Do I have so much money to study part-time (which I don't wish to do so, as I can't focus on one thing.. I got too much on my plate if I do part-time studies!), or give up my job for a full-time degree?

I'm feeling super inferior.. super inferior!

Sad boy,

Thoughts..

Sometimes I just wonder whether am I that detestable or was I too sensitive or simply think too much?

Some people I know has been having varying "mood swings" about me; sometimes they appear ok, and another, they appear to be indirectly making sarcastic remarks about me.. or simply, just in front of me, they would speak more to the person whom they are more comfortable, and when its just no one else but us, they just keep quiet..

I feel that I have lost all sociable standings in certain places.. am I that bad?
Sometimes just thinking of it, makes me feel like I'm nobody's friend, and such a loner.. you know how sad can this be? I can only say I'm disappointed with myself..

Sometimes, I feel that I am better off in the company of people I know.. imagine eating together over-priced chap chai peng with buddies at NUS Arts canteen.. haha.. (Chee Yong would know what I'm talking abt! Brother hor?) =P
