A thrilling ride!

Well.. juz came back from a cell outing (picnic @ Pasir Ris Park).. and my transport there was absolutely THRILLING!!
This is because I got my transport (to and fro) on a motorcycle!! Yes!! MOTORCYCLE!! Got a ride from my cell mate, Joshua! So fun!! And thank goodness, the weather was cooling.. or else, I will sweat like a pig! ha.

Today, my cell experience another miracle.. When we went there, it started to drizzle.. and then, my dad prayed and 10 minutes later, it STOPPED!! Praise the Lord!! =)

Wanted to do my mini personal retreat at the beach today.. but was too noisy.. so I forgo it and played frisbee! =)

Oh.. I've received my package from Huimin.. I ask her to buy for me a few things in Australia; a boarding shorts and a pair of slippers with just SGD$30.. and she's good man!! Got SGD$7 balance somemore!! Huimin and Derek(my kor) really koe how to bargain!! Manz.. muz learnt some bargaining skills from them.. haha..
I muz also commend them on their taste man.. becos' my kor help me choose the boarding shorts and huimin help me choose the slippers.. its so good manz!
Huimin also gave me a bk ("Boy Meets Girl" by Joshua Harris) and a cd (Lounge Worship: Volume 2) which I ask her to help me buy... well.. so happy.. =).. got all I wanted..

Well.. need to go off now and probably sleep or start reading my book! =)..

Got church tml and huimin is leading.. and her songs are slow.. which means I can use jazz chords! *woohoo*.. call me a jazz nut if you want.. =)

Ciaoz n have a GREAT day ahead,

The recipe of the dip is out! Yeah!!

Hi.. as follows is the recipe of the dip.. so watcha waiting for? start to whip it up and start dippin' !! Enjoy! =)

FRENCH ONION DIP

Ingredients needed:

1 package McCormick French Onion Dip Mix <-- See PS note 1

(Picture of dip mix as follows:)

1 cup (250g) sour cream (Any brand!) <-- See PS note 2
Spreadable Cream Cheese (Any brand) <-- See PS note 3
Canned Pineapple (Any brand) <-- See PS note 4
Pineapple juice from the canned pineapple <-- See PS note 5

Directions:

1. Dice the pineapple and leave it aside.
2. Mix sour cream and cream cheese together. Make sure the cream cheese is not lumpy in the mixture.
3. Add the French Onion Dip Mix.
4. Mix well.
5. Add about 2-3 teaspoons of pineapple juice into the mixture. (See PS note 6)
6. Mix.
7. Leave it for an hour (at least!) in the refrigerator.
8. Add the diced pineapple just before serving. (See PS note 7)
9. If during serving, the dip is still a bit dry, add a few more teaspoons of canned pineapple juice!

Serve chill !!

Suggested foods for dipping:

1. Ritz Plain Cracker biscuits
2. Sour Cream Potato chips

Well.. wat to dip with is up to your imagination!! so get dipping! Enjoy! =)

** PS Notes

1. The amount of sour cream determines the amt. of dip you want to make. Therefore, if you don't want to make so much, then cut down on amt. of sour cream added and add the french onion dip mix accordingly! This addition of the dip mix also depends on your taste.. You add more for more french onion flavour and vice versa.
But I must caution you that adding too much of the dip mix may make the dip a bit salty! =)
So the lesson to learn, agar-ration!

2. To cut down fat content/not so filling, use Lite Sour Cream!

3. How much spreadable cream cheese to add depends on how cheesy you want the dip to taste. But be also careful of your addition of spreadable cream cheese because it contains salt as well..
A trick of how the dip can taste cheesy enuf and not so salty: Add more sour cream to mask up the 'too salty' taste! =)
**Note: 'Defrost' the cream cheese 10 minutes before making the dip.

4. Make sure to buy CANNED pineapple, as the normal raw pineapple bought at markets will cause people to have that kind of pricky feeling on their tongues when they eat the pineapple.. so buy CANNED pineapple to avoid tat!

5. The addition of the pineapple juice from the canned pineapple would give the dip a more refreshing taste (ie, make the dip to have that unique taste of sweet and sour.. It heightens the taste of the sour cream!
** But a word of caution: Add it sparingly, as adding too much will make the dip to be watery..

6. Will also depend on how much dip you preparing.
A general rule of thumb: add about 5-10% of pineapple juice of the total weight of mix and for your information,
1 teaspoon = 5ml (yes! I learnt this in my diploma course, "Applied Food Science & Nutrition".. so you can trust me on this!).. so for eg: your dip is 100g.. so 10% = 10ml.. so you add about 2 teaspoons of pineapple juice..
If you find still a bit too dry (ie, hard), add about 5% more.. so again, its agar-ration!

7. The purpose of adding the diced pineapple LAST is because to prevent the dip from being watery and all..
FYI: Pineapple itself has its so-called 'liquid' and considering this is canned fruit, it shld have much more liquid, so watever food tat has canned pineapple in it, the best way to prevent food from being watery and all, add it last! =)
==================
Well.. certainly hope you will try out this recipe and check it out!

It's been a long while..

First & foremost, I would like to thank YOU for visiting my revamped blog!

Its a fresh new layout! Everything look so.. so.. so.. bra-zil-ian *speaks in spanish accent*.. (sorry.. a bit high!)... so to match the layout, I have changed the music to bossa nova music (which is bra-zil jazz) *speaks with a spanish accent again!*

ahem.. *clears throat*..

yupz.. there are other things added to this webby as well !! New blog links, favourite links, my photo on my webby and the calender (for your easy reference)..

so enjoy your stay here ya?? =) so i shall get on with my updating!

Well.. indeed its been a long while..
anyway, shall update you all briefly (i hope!)..

Currently, I can be classified as slacking and as also be classfied as occupied! This is becos' I'm now busy helping one of the ForeRunner staff (ie, Jacq Tay) with her local gigs in govt. schools.. in fact, there wld be one tml as well!
but my role is quite easy.. I'm in charge of the lights.. so not too bad! =).. but then, i also need to like help carry stuff and all.. so its like my mission trip all over again!! =)

Anyway, tat's wat I'm bz about lahz basically..

Oh yah.. tell u all a good news.. I had received a letter from Temasek Polytechnic tat being the BEST student in one of my diploma subjects, "Product Development & Marketing", I have been awarded the Malaysian Dairy Industries Prize and it would be presented to me on my graduation ceremony held on 16 Aug 2004.
When I saw it, I was so very shocked!! But I think that it is God's blessing! Maybe my future work would be in Malaysia Dairy Industries??

FYI: Malaysia Dairy Industries (MDI) is NOT situated in Malaysia. Have checked out their website liaoz.. MDI actually produces the brand, Marigold.. So anything under Marigold, is under MDI.. cool rite?? =)

Well.. as I said earlier, I have NO idea of how this prize is mine, and I have NO idea whether its cash or cert or both.. but nvm lahz.. get recognised can liaoz.. so maybe I will go back there and work after my NS?? Moreover, the office is so near.. Its like in Upper Paya Lebar Road.. quite near my hse.. better than Tuas (as in my internship attachment) right?? haha.. But wat can I say?? Its only God's blessing! =)

And also lately, I have this passion on cooking.. hmmm.. house-husband next time?? ha.. has learnt a lot of new recipes.. one of them I'm going to do for my cell outing at Paris Ris Park this sat (31/7).. so my cell members wld somewhat be my guinea pigs.. hehe.. *evil laugh*.. oopps..

So will reveal my recipe online (as in my blog lahz) if its successful ya?? =).. so wait for it ya??

ok.. gtg and koon already.. need to wake up 6 hrs later to get ready to go to Pioneer Sec for helping out another gig!

So i shall cya when I cya??

Ciaoz n have a GREAT weekend ahead,

Sorry for the delay.. was too lazy as well as bz.. well.. for some of you who dun koe, i just came back frm a GEN12ii mission trip to ChiangMai, Thailand 3 wks ago.. and how im missing it already.. how i wish it cld start all over again.. tat's how close I am to my team-mates now.. haiz.. *tears*..

anyway, been at home, lazing ard, as well as also bingeing.. been eating a lot these few wks with NO exercise.. but lazy lahz.. wat to do??

going to be SLAVE for the nation on 19 Aug.. so need to enjoy while i can!! anyway, been trying the food in the east (particularly, lor 9 geylang & katong area) and i muz say tat the food there are food.. there are a lot of things there to eat.. my goodness.. geylang lor 9 beef hor fun & frog leg poridge is power manz.. my goodness.. *drooling already*.. my friend (marcus - my crusade friend, and he is passionate abt food, juz like me!) calls it holy.. ha.. everything to him tat taste nice is holy.. ha.. LOL..

yesterday, went with marcus (to old airport road and eat lohz..) the food there is ok only... but both of us simply dun have the mood to eat lohz.. dun koe y.. we ate so little, compared to last wed, we went to geylang for dinner ONLY and ate (hold ur breathe.. a long list):
1) Lor 9 frog leg porridge
2) Tau Kway & You Tiao
3) Durian

considering we had 49 Katong Laksa in the afternoon and at nite, we consumed quite a lot of carbohydrate.. tat day was simply abundant life.. but yesterday, dun koe y..

last mon, marcus & i went to Plaza Singapura & catch Spiderman 2 (which is a good movie.. good and catch it! better than the 1st instalment!).. before the movie, i brought him to meridian hotel food court and eat thai food.. the pad thai and tom yum soup is to die for.. he even agreed with me.. =)

yesterday, at old airport road, ordered the famous toa payoh roajk (which is located last time @ toa payoh old bus interchange).. and i waited 45 mins for tat rojak, and i tried b4.. last time was nice.. but yesterday, I ate only so-so only.. dun koe y my taste buds was weird yesterday nite.. haiz..

then followed marcus to his church for a prophetic service.. 1st time attending it.. a bit boring but interesting.. =).. then after tat, marcus, me, and his friends went to geylang for supper (gulp!).. but dun worry.. i didn't eat so much.. we both shared the hokkien mee which was supposingly good (recommend by a staff of ForeRunner), but after eating, i prefer the one at chomp chomp food centre, serangoon gardens (the extreme end one.. at the side.. 3rd stall from the back.. if ur back faces the serangoon garden circus, its the right hand side row.. so ya..)

speaking abt. chomp chomp, i'm going for dinner at chomp chomp tml with my mission mates and eat of course (wat else!)..

as u can see.. been eating a lot until broke manz.. considering i have spent $130 on my mission trip photos.. my goodness!

k.. gtg.. and hope i will blog more often.. today i blog, so tat's y it rained.. haha.. =P

Ciaoz n have a GREAT week ahead,
