allo.. gd evening.. welcome to my blog.. well.. sit down, and have a cup of coffee/tea/plain water (haha) and read my blog.. its quite shiok u koe.. hahaz.. =)

will first like to update u on yesterday's bbq as well as today's audition.. these 2 events are the main highlights of my blog tonite.. so yupz..

Friday (09/01)

yesterday at the BBQ is considered as one of those days where my dinner would be only equal to a morsel.. serious.. i only ate a morsel.. becos' all BBQ stuff and all.. wat i ate is as follows:

*2 servings of 'yu sheng' (BUT without fish)
*1 BBQ king prawn & 2 sticks of satay (which were "icy cold")
*1 ketupat
*1/4 cucumber
*a bit of self home made satay sauce

that's all i ate!! believe it?? i think if i eat like that everyday, i would be like slim lohz.. immedately underweight.. hahaz...

can't eat somemore, as all were BBQ stuff, and i can't eat it, becos' i got an audition the next day (10/01)..

after that, we did some worship.. juz pure singing lahz.. no high praise, etc.. ppl then start requesting songs, so then i play the piano lohz..

about an hour later, we as a worship team finally have the time to really like practice my worship set which i'm doing on sun (11/01).. yupz..
at popular request of wendy (the music director of HCC), we decide to sing the song "come, now is the time to worship" again.. becos' the part sang by huimin really harmonize well with the song.. so yupz..

ask wendy to see how can i improve in my playing for tml (10/01) audition.. so i played the 2 songs, and i ask her to evaluate.. she gave me some valuable suggestions, and i followed it.. so thank you wendy!!

so after practice, its like 11.30pm liaoz.. then went home with my parents, and we took bus service 135.. so by the time we reach home, its like 12.15am liaoz..

then, while the sugestion by wendy is still fresh in my mind, went to do up the song sheet for tml's (10/01) audition on the computer, and incorporate wendy's suggestion into my audition songs.. so yupz.. by the time i did that and want to sleep, its like 12.30am liaoz..

Saturday (10/01)

woke up this morning at 8am.. do my QT and stuff.. ate my breakfast, and then at 9.30am, started to do some last minute rehearsals of my audition songs.. did it 2 times.. during my rehearsal sessions, i tried to take note of whether i'm singing thru' my nose (which if in that case, i will have a nasal sound)..

anyway, to test whether you have a nasal sound when u sing, u juz put ur finger on ur nose while playing.. if ur nose feels that its vibrating, then its most likely that u sang thru' ur nose.. yupz.. so that is sumthing u may want to take note ya.. =)

during my rehearsals, not to sure lahz... but i juz leave everything to God lohz..

so i left my hse about 10.10am, and took a bus to Potong Pasir NEL(North East Line) station.. lazy to walk to serangoon NEL station.. dun want to smell stink and all when i'm there for auditioning.. ya geta wat i mean?? yupz.. shall stop being so disgusting.. =)

anyway, waited quite long for the bus, but eventually, got to Potong Pasir NEL.. i alighted at Outram NEL station, and from there, took a east-west line to buona vista..

btw, all along in the mrt and the bus rides, i was praying almost every 15 mins, that I would reach there on time.. yupz..

after coming out of the buona vista mrt, went to a bus stop and take bus service 200.. however, was juz curious to see wat time the bus will come.. and to my horror, the nxt bus is at 11.57am.. and my audition is like 11.30am.. so i decide to ring up the ForeRunner office (ForeRunner are the ones who is conducting this audition) and tell them i wld be late becos' of the bus issue thing..

one of their staff actually gave me a suggestion that the director of ForeRunner (whom i koe thru' Meta 2003) can come by to pick me up from that bus-stop.. but i feel that its a bit inappropriate and paiseh lahz.. feel so bad.. so i then decline her offer, and decide to take a cab instead..

that place i muz say is quite near, except that the winding road to the place makes me like almost want to vomit.. yupz.. but i'm glad i didn't!

so anyway, that cab fare cost me $3.70.. and i stop at a bus stop which the person (a staff from ForeRunner) called me to stop.. that was about 11.15am.. i then walk down the street to find the place.. the email that the staff emailed me was that its a green building, but never say its a pvt house type..

so me being the sotong one, walk all the way down to the shopping complex, village centre.. and i was so stupid.. i followed the instructions of how to walk.. however, after about 2 mins, realised that i'm at the wrong building..

so from there, i knew that it is sumthing like a pvt estate.. so yupz.. i tried loh.. and after like 5-7 mins of searching, finally found the place.. however, it is lock, as its the back door.. so wat i do is call up the office again lohz.. and then they tell me the no. to unlock.. and when i reached there, i heard ppl singing.. thought there was another person audition before me, however, they are actually practicing.. but dun koe for wat lahz.. =)

anyway, decide to go in the room, and to my surprise, it was 11.30am on-the-dot!! I was like thanking God all the way..

so they told me to come back about 15 mins later, as they are practicing.. so i actually want to go back up at 11.45am, but feel a bit pai-seh.. so they decide to call me to sit at a lounge.. and when i go in, i saw 2 persons sitting there.. seen them in Meta 2003 before.. one even i talk face-to-face during Men's Conference.. however, i dun think he remember me liaoz.. =)
so i think they decide not to disturb me and they go sumwhere.. and then i started to feel nervous, so i prayed lohz.. n thank God for giving me the peace..

so i decide to go up later.. but a short while later, the director of ForeRunner called me up for audition and interview..

so its like 2 person interviewing me (one is the director and the other is a staff.. all from ForeRunners..).. the staff who call me was like typing on the laptop of wat i said..

so they started interviewing me.. practically, its juz re-asking the qns that were on the 10 pg interview form that i filled yesterday (09/01) as well as clarifying wat i wrote wrongly, as well as ask me sum other qns lahz..

that i think took about 30-45mins.. yes.. it was tat long.. at first, i feel nervous.. but after talking, i feel like talking to a grp of old friends.. very comfortable lohz.. =)

after the interview, i proceed to the auditioning area.. its comprises of 3 sections:

*sing my chosen songs for the audition

-> Sang a medley "you are here", and "shepherd of my soul".. (actually, didn't koe that can do medley.. i juz choose loh.. later in the nite, i read the audition paper, and they actually mention that i can sing medley.. so believe that this is God's Plan!!)

~ both songs i put in jazz chords..

~ the song, "shepherd of my soul", i use the arrangement of wat i'm going to do during tml service (11/01)

*harmonizing/singing a different part to a song..

-> this is an impromptu thing.. i think they want to see whether i can be vocalist, as i actually said i'm able to do so if i have the necessary training.. which in fact i can, becos' i'm in the school choir for 8 solid years (frm pri 3 - sec 4)

-> did "you are here" with Jacq Tay, but this is more of harmonizing.. not actually wat they want.. so they call me to do another song, where i can really sing in parts..

-> therefore, i did "come, now is the time to worship".. sang in parts thru'out the song.. only today then i realise that the highest part which huimin wld sing tml (11/01) during my worship, is actually the melody.. but HCC has made a rule that the highest part is the back-up part..and i told them that lohz.. =).. anyway, Patrick (another staff of ForeRunner) told me that the part i sang was alto.. he sang a sample of the tenor part.. wow.. didn't koe tat.. =)

-> was glad that i lead worship tml (11/01) during service, becos' all the songs i sang today is my worship set for service tml (11/01) at church..

*listen to a CD, and catch the rhythm..

-> the CD i think is Jacq Tay CD.. i think i have her cd.. the sound sounds familiar.. but of course, that was the first time i heard it..

-> Jacq Tay gave me the chords to that song, and they played that cd track two times.. one time is to let me hear.. the second time, i request they play it again, so that i can get to that feel of the rhythm.. so anyway, i did that liaoz.. manage to play the rhythm to that cd track.. oh.. btw, that cd track is called "indifference"..

sound and look challenging huh.. but actually, miraculously, i manage to did it.. all by God's hand on this audition.. All glory be to God!

Anyway, the feedback from the audition (from the words of the director of ForeRunner) is that, i have a strong/deep bass voice and he said that i was very good.. wow.. when heard that, i was really encouraged liaoz lohz.. =)..
can feel that this is it.. i'm confirmed.. but i understand.. they got a lot more ppl to audition.. so other ppl may be better than me.. so anyway, juz trust in God that if this is His Will, i would definately be in! Amen!! =) but continue to pray for me that this is His Will and He would see to the fufillment of my heart's desire-- that is to go to this music mission project ya?? thanx..

anyway, after the interview/audition (which ends about 1.30pm), i took bus service 188 to HarbourFront NEL station and alight at Somerset MRT and proceed to Cathay Cineleisure at orchard to meet wendy, huimin, sarah and joshua.. we meet there and after that, we go to cell outing at east coast park.. joshua can't attend, as he has church service in the afternoon..

anyway, wendy drove sarah's mum car to east coast park.. we had MacDonald's for lunch.. i ate the Promotion Meal C ($5.90-- cheap and good!! Pay $1 more than the promotion fillet o fish meal):

*1 Regular Coke and Fries
*1 DOUBLE fillet-o-fish burger (yum!yum!... was influenced by Carlise and Tiffany.. i tried this the other time, and its shiock.. its freshly cook and hot somemore.. =).. yum yum.. don't quite like fillet o fish last time, becos' of the tartar sauce.. find it quite fishy.. however, i can't resist the double fillet o fish burger.. so yupz..
*1 mandarin orange pie (NOT as nice as the authentic [huimin say this word] apple pie!]

During my lunch halfway at Mac, as i was eating, i saw my sec sch friend, Geh Si Wei.. had a brief chat with him.. asking him about his course and all.. he's like a DJ of TP Business School Radio.. he's studying media and communcations (i think!).. we dun relaly talk long lahz.. =)..
Also saw huimin's "grandson", Kenny.. known him thru' crusade.. yupz.. but didn't really tok to him lahz.. huimin talk to him more.. =)
so yupz.. talk about coincidence huh.. =)

after that, went for cycling for an hour.. quite fun actually, becos' have not rode a bicycle for quite a while.. but it was an enjoyable ride.. =).. had such a nice time at east coast park.. while i cld not tan (but i put sunblock), but still enjoyable lahz.. =).. almost near the end of our ride, wendy decide to go to east coast lagoon and have some drinks.. so most of us did..
and then guess wat! i saw one of my pri sch mates, Shawn.. forgot his surname.. i think its chen..
anyway, thought i saw the wrong person, but as i see closely, he is the one.. thought of going over and say hi, however, his parents were there.. so dun really think that's a gd idea..
i think he see me, he also forgot who i am.. talk about coincidence huh.. =)

anyway, after cycling, our cell outing continues.. we play frisbee and have a mini-picnic.. my mum cooked beehoon, and carlise make sandwiches.. so yupz.. was suppose to have other things, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it can't be done..

so we had decide to eat fast fast, as the sky looks like its going to rain.. so yupz.. by about 8+pm, we cleared the place liaoz..

so wendy fetch me and my sis back home, before returning back the car to sarah's mom.. so yupz..

after i came home, packed my bag for tml (11/01) service, and then, i am on this blog.. think i've spent like an hour on this blog..

yupz.. that shld be wat happen today lohz.. sorry for the long blog, but certainly hope its enjoyable for you as much as i write it lohz.. =)

k.. gtg and sleep liaoz.. need to wake up early tml for church service.. i'm leading worship tml (11/01), therefore, need to get plenty of rest.. =)
